That’s a great question! 😂 All I did was practice exams over and over. The rationales pretty much was my instructor. It might sound crazy but I didn’t even have the CPC Study guide. Literally just did practice exams for about 3 months straight.
When I said I had no coding background I meant it! Lol! I was 22 years old at the time and didn’t feel like going back to college or enrolling in any courses. I told myself if I can study to pass this test - I’ll let God do the rest. My on the job training plus the additional studying and courses I’ve taken after the fact is what got me to where I am now. 😉
I should have added I meant when registering for the Novitas free CEU events...you mentioned Part A or B. Can you clarify what you mean by that? Is that referring to Medicare? Thank You!
I don’t stress about it at all because we have so much time to get them. I normally have all the CEUs I need in a about a year in a half. I do go over the required amount and these do not carryover. So, if 40 is due and I have 60, they’ll all clear to 0 at the start of the new CEU Timeframe.
I’d say the next step after passing is working on your resume and applying for your first coding job. You will have to renew your membership I think yearly but submit your required CEUs every 2 years.
Great information, Shamyra! 🙌🏼
Thank you!
I’m blessed to be able to get my ceus through my employers website. It’s identical to what you explained here
Yesss! I enjoy the perks too! ☺️
What is the difference between Part A and B? Medicare? Thank you so much. Very helpful!
Thank you so much for helping us newbies!😃

I recently got my CPC certification and I was wondering does it matter what webinars you watch the get your CEU’s?
No. Just make sure you get the certificate for completion and you can upload it as proof.
