When people say "with determination and hard work you can achieve anything" that may not be entirely true. For our elders who were determined and worked extremely hard what do you say? I believe OPPORTUNITY along w determination and hard work you can achieve anything. Under the old Apartheid system where would you have been w your hard work and determination? Ask your forefathers.
All the houses featured on Top Billing have become the same. Interior decorating in SA has become uniformed, very contemporary, neutral colours, high ceilings and even the outside structures of the houses are so similar. Nothing is out of the ordinary.

@patrick3870 - Exactly: at the end of the day the client plays a significant facture in the wave of change the African designs can evolve into. Maybe if more movies like Black Panther and African media becomes more globally marketable, the confidence in the local style will increase.

Looks like a showroom and not a home... The single piece of "artwork" was a black and white photograph with pictures laid on top and copied... The lack of art in the home better demonstrates the lack of sophistication and truthful success... Purchase some real artwork and watch this showroom turn into a home...

@@aminatakunda3674 Well, the owner hired a designer to decorate his home... So the owner wants to be shown a display and then decides if he likes or dislikes what's presented... Actually, artwork is very expensive and one single original could easily cost more than the entire home... In that case, he's stuck with a black and white photo enlarged image to cover a wall... Cheap and cheap looking... That's the difference between a decorator and an Artist... Bet it's changed, already...

I was just thinking the same thing. It is like the same designer for all. However open plan bathrooms featured here is not so common in other houses.
