      Where are the Origin Acoustics, Monitor Audio, B&W, Golden Ear? Really misleading title as the speakers you mentioned are maybe mid level but not the best!

    hi, can they be dissasembled from that frame to install on a regular box? i wanna make some bookshelf speakers from them. thanks

    • @TheTechMag
      @TheTechMag  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi! Yes, these speakers can be disassembled from the frame and installed in a regular box. Many users have successfully done this to create custom bookshelf speakers. Just make sure to carefully handle the components during the disassembly and reassembly process to avoid any damage. Good luck with your project!

      First, you get the location of your chair/couch and that determines where the ceiling speakers go. Usually, Top Front/Top Rear pairs within 2-5 feet of the ideal listening position(s) so that people on the left/right ends of the couch have a similar "Left" and "right" sense if the volume is the same. (balancing comes later, but it's important to be closer, as the sound will bounce off the floor towards the roof again, and you ideally want someone on the Left and Right of the seat/couch to get the same stereo audio when something's moving between the front and rear ceiling speakers or front left to rear right. )
      Wall and/or floor standing speakers usually don't have to worry about "bounce", so they can be louder / larger speakers as they are less 'directed'
      With Ceiling speakers replacing "floor" or wall speakers, you do have to angle or "drive" the speakers a bit louder than a couch-facing speaker, since the sound will reflect off the floor where it's unintended.
      Once you have the measurements and ideals, then it's time to drill holes and feed wires.
      You get the Ohm rating (power needed) of the speakers, preferably all the same ohm rating (4/6/8 ohms) , then work out the longest cable distance that matches, Then you run oxygen-free copper cable, usually 12AWG or 14AWG cable (since it's going to be in the walls for a decade or more) and run all the wires back to the cabinet. Some installs run the AV in a separate room for quiet operation, or the room size, sic. So you might need to do a single run, and then choose the required cable. If in doubt, 10AWG is expensive, much thicker and very reliable speaker cable in general.
      The thickness (AWG rating) of the cables should match the length of wire needed for each speaker back to the AV, but as long as it's a braided & shielded cable, and kept distanced from power and data wires, it should avoid EMI or interference. In-Wall cables are usually priced higher for OFC (pure copper), versus CCA or CCS cables which can work, but need more insulation and heat shrinking the connectors to keep moisture out to prevent corrosion over time. YMMV.
      Some people also run Shielded S/FTP Cat6 data cables as speaker wire, which isn't a terrible idea. The twisted-pair cables are insulated, Fire and Safety approved, and you can run a "pair" into the BNC plug, connecting the rest as shielding/ground wires. There are arguments for/against, but it does work well if you are safety conscious. Just mark it off or use different colours so you don't confuse it with data/internet cables.
      In-Walls also have CL2 or CL3 rated "thicker" sleeves outside which prevent some moisture and Sun/UV exposure which breaks down the plasticiser / outside sleeve over time and can cause it to become brittle and corrode/rust once oxygen and moisture in the air starts to react with the copper. Over several years a small break can cause intermittent buzz or static due to corrosion.

      @@Ryand0523 I purchased Klipsch CDT-5650-C II
      thru crutchfield.com and installed by myself with a friend’s help. Very impressed with the quality of the speakers. Both materials and sound quality are top notch. If you already have pre-wired for speakers, then it’s pretty easy. I highly recommend these speakers.

      @Ryand0523 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mahavaditube Um well no I will not be installing it myself, this will be a first time set up, for myself, I will probably only do it with Magnolia/Best Buy setting up and installing all of the speakers. Though, I may change my mind, based on the cost, but it will probably be what I do, especially when considering I can’t walk around with much ease, so installing speakers in the ceiling is definitely a no go for me. But I will probably buy a denon receiver, to handle all of the speakers, depending on how well the reviewers like those receivers/how well it handles hdmi 2.1 if that is supported.
