Fantastic interview. I think all the 1D boys deserve a lot of credit- I cannot imagine what they went through at such an early age and, it seems, like they all transitioned to intelligent, talented men. At 52 years old, I was not a 1D fan when they were peaking but they have definitely won me over. Bravo Niall!
@@jvernon9094 Thats literally so cute 🙈 I’m turning 27 and I was like 15 or 16 when I started being an 1D fan the times.. if they would do an reunion even with my granny body I would go to the concert lol
The narrative of “what they went through” is absolutely ridiculous. They went through privilege, opportunities, success, wealth, professional help, fun etc. Why do people talk about them as if they’re Syrians who grew up in poverty, starvation, severe traumatic events, helplessness, no hope, lack of education etc. Get a bloody grip! Yes, they did a few tours, but thats easy in comparison to the average Joe who works 5 x 12hr night shifts a week, grabbing multiple buses there and back in compared to being chauffeured onto a comfortable, luxury private jet with meals prepped on demand.
The only thing wrong with this brilliant interview is that it is an hour too short. Niall Horan is a fantastic storyteller, and it’s cathartic to know all five boys grew out of the 1D madness into successful and healthy adults instead of just being swallowed by the industry or intimidated by the band’s success to try again. That just makes me love them as individuals so much more. And we can never hear enough of that Irish accent. Thank you so much for this interview. So excited for The Show tour. It’s going to be massive and brilliant, and Nialler deserves all the love because his songs are masterpieces, so, yes, have confidence in your performing ability! Again, thanks for this beautiful and grounded conversation.
Never followed One Direction. For some strange reason, I thought boy bands were just for teenagers. I was wrong and will now start listening to One Direction and Niall Horan. Just noticed you tonight while watching The Voice. I was so impressed by your honesty and kindness, along with your humour, that I decided to google you. Then I was even more impressed by your singing and loved your rendition of the song "Heaven." FWIW, I'm 70 years old (just a preppy old fart now, pic taken at age 30) and live in Nashville, TN. Here's to your great future! I wish you the very best.
This boy band for teenagers got a little is getting a little bit out of control these girls they’re like little s**t girls. They’re not proper girls. I’m sorry. Let me look, but I’m not why would I be jealous of some s***s? I am a normal person. These girls need it Get it together. They’re getting out of control with them. Do they think they are? Starting to act like a s**t w**re I hate girls who act like that. We never did one came to our guys. I love when Donny was been leave Garrett and all them and we believe that we act like a bunch of stupid ass girls composure. Need to act like normal human beings. They’re getting out of control and I’m sick of the crap. I’m not like that. I’m old-school.❤️❤️✌️😃
That has to be one of my favorite Niall interviews ever! Its so much better when he's at ease, laughing, just being himself! There were no intrusive questions about things that don't concern us. You asked about 1D but you made it about HIS experience, HIS time there, & how he's grown/ learned from it ... unlike some interviewers who make it all about the other guys & try to force a connection ... I enjoyed every moment & you could tell Niall enjoyed it too! Thank you! ❤
I started watching Niall after a hiatus sometime in 2016, I wasn't interested in 1D madness until then. Actually I first started noticing Harry when he released his first solo record. Not long after that, I started rewatching all 1D performances, all the interviews, and the more I got to know them, the more I fell in love. I can't say who my favorite member is, it's Sofia's choice, but I love Niall's music very much and I love the kind of person he is. Happy lad, funny, carefree, humble but self-confident, caring for his friends and loving his fans. I'm proud of how far he's come and he deserves all the success in the world!❤ I am 47 years old and I am honored to call myself his fan.😍

My daughter loves 1D and I took her to see them in 2015. I then became a huge fan myself! They were so humble and really talented. We went to see Harry Styles in 2018 (one of the best concerts I have ever been to! We were in the pit and he was so personable) and then saw Niall later that year. He was great! We saw them both again, Harry in 2022 and Niall earlier this year. Both are sincere guys. Niall continually thanks the crowd. He is a realist, down to earth, and just so enjoyable to watch. And you can take young kids to the show! 57 yo fan. I would go to his concert even if my daughter didn’t want to go🤩🥰
I believe they all are or were. I enjoyed watching them all together. They cut up, had fun and entertained. What a loss Liam has been. They were all so close.
This is the best interview with Niall Horan that I've ever seen! It felt so organic and as if we were hanging out with you two in a room as friends chatting! Niall is such an amazing person - and amazing, thoughtful interview questions too!! 10/10 :)

While watching the Voice recently, I heard Niall comment about Blake Shelton along the lines of how much he loved him because what you see is what you get. Seems to me that Niall is the same type of guy. I love how he credits his upbringing for so much of how steady he is.

Actually this feels more like an conversation. I hope many artist or celebrities do podcast like these. Bc people like us sometimes don’t really understand how it is walking in their shoes.
Niall is such a delightful person to listen to. He's so down to earth and relatable. The madness of 1D didn't change him and his humble upbringing served him well. I can't wait to see him in New Zealand next year 🎉
For some reason the way he talked about One Direction in this interview brought tears to my eyes. I have so much love for that era and I am so glad he does, too.
Only listening to this now - what an underrated singer from the band! He’s got the best personality and looks of the lot now by far! He’s really grown into himself.
I came here as a fan of Niall, I’m leaving a fan of Oli. I’ve never heard of this podcast before, but I am now one of your listeners. Oli is a very knowledgeable, relaxed, affable host. So many people have podcasts now and some are honestly grating to listen to because the interviewer is unprepared or obnoxious. Oli I’m very impressed with you and you have a new fan. Subscribing right now, here and on Apple Podcasts as well.
He sounds like such a good guy--so grounded and connected to his roots. That certainly helps to navigate & enjoy life! Loved this interview--great questions!
I love how grounded he is , how humble and human he is. He was always my favorite out of the 1D boys just because of how much of a sweet heart he is. I know all the other boys are as well but just him in general he's amazing
It's because Niall is Irish. They have a really different attitude towards FAME. They like to stay humble and grounded. Cillian Murphy is Irish and he's the same way. He's a very private man even though he's an International SUPERSTAR.
Forget one direction, his accomplishments and him being talented .. i am freakin' impressed with his growth and personality compared to mine at the exact same age !!!!
Such a fabulous interview. My kids were all 1D fans so I was exposed to 1D through my kids. But I am so proud of all these young men for staying true to themselves and always being such great role models. I’m enjoying following their solo careers.
Such an amazing interview. Love this young man to pieces!! Fellow Irishman and could be my grandson but he amazes me with his talent and unique ability to remain true to himself and his raising. One person I would love to meet.
27:47: "No I don't", brings back memories of Harry imitating Niall😁 He has not changed who he is at heart, no matter how successful he got. Mad, mad respect to Niall. ❤ Also, good interview. Such an organic conversation . 👍
Already have my ticket to see him in Dublin and as a 1D fan I’m genuinely so happy for him. He seems so happy and peaceful and hopeful after the madness than One Direction was. So proud of him ❤
Great interview. He’s so down to earth and such a sweet, funny boy. I’m 65 and wasn’t really aware of them. I know my daughter listened to them but a few years ago I started watching videos and then I watched the movie and fell in love with these young men. The music was really good. I’ve bought my favorite songs but I enjoyed, so much, how goofy they were and just being boys. I’m happy for how their solo careers have taken off. Niall is so talented and I love watching the interviews. He’s the cutest and so humble.
Very sweet. Love him on The Voice. He really knows music inside and out and he has so many great insights. But he feels like he could be anybody's best friend.
You are an amazing young man Niall and thank you Joe for the great interview. I wish it could have gone on for another hour or so. Indeed a pleasure to see how grounded you are and what a genuine heart you have despite or perhaps because of all the fame you have acquired in the past few years. You are one in a million for sure and I hope you always enjoy this journey threw the highs and the lows - ups and the downs - in and the outs. Your parents have done an amazing job and you have been an amazing son. If there is such a thing as reincarnation, I hope I come back as an Irish granny and get to enjoy having a grandson as terrific as you are. I am sure you make them very proud.
Brilliant interview.I remember watching the Xfactor which led to 1D becoming a band. I always felt 1D was the starting point for them all and a chance to use the time they had in the band to perfect their art. Witnessing them transition into talented solo artists has definitely been an amazing experience. I almost felt I was growing up with them.Their songs then and now hold a lot of meaning in my life
Fantastic Interview on both sides. Well done Oli and Niall. Congrats Niall on staying so grounded and being what appears to be a truly grounded and sincere person.
Amazing interview… thank you for cocoon him so much… not asking all the 1D questions…. He is really doing amazing…. And I am happy to hear he would do it all again. The experience with 1D helped build his life and career….. they are always gonna be mates…. And all their private lives should stay THAT way….. I love that he is just doing amazing things giving back to others and sharing his voice still with us.
This was a brilliant interview , Joe you are an amazing interviewer and Niall is a very easy going person . You asked the right questions and Niall answered so truthfully. Good luck 🎻🎸🚘
Aww Dads comment he went to the interview and never came back!! Can u imaging their parent’s feelings. Whirlwind wow!! I love u Niall you’re a beautiful person with a great personality and an angelic voice!!❤❤❤
Great interview! Love Niall Horan's music and I have many of his "chunes" on a playlist on repeat, along with Louis Tomlinson's fantastic music. I intend to visit Mullingar on my next visit to Ireland from Australia .. happening this coming October !! This will be my fourth trip to Ireland and the 37% of me that is Irish always feels like I'm coming home. Niall - you're a treasure !
Wow- didn't think about the boys not returning back home after the X Factor. It changed their whole family, but I can imagine that the boys weren't thinking about that aspect before it happened. It's intetesting because a couple of them have had relational issues because it's been said that they get bored with their surroundings and itch to travel. You can't have that level of fame without it affecting you one way or the other. I wish them all success in their personal and professional lives. I hope they stay humble and kind.
I was only going to watch 15 mins of Niall being interviewed but watched the whole video what a well rounded down to earth young man . This was such a great interview I’m also a fan of Lewis Calpaldi music I know he has a great friendship with Niall. I will be watching more of your videos you impressed me how easy flowing it looked like two friends chatting . 👌👍❤️
I think what impresses me the most is his gracious, thoughtful approach to conversations and life all with an infectious laugh. He’s humbled to his core, authentic and genuine. I’m 57 and only really started listening and learning about 1D the last few years and out of the gate Niall drew me in. I must admit though I was completely surprised by how much I love his “solo” work. Slow Hands and Nice to meet ya are my absolute favorites. His upbringing shines through him and I can only imagine how proud his parents must be. I’d like to see him do some acting….he’s that magnetic and lovable that I’m quite certain he would be fantastic with the right role. Bravo to a fantastic interview!
I love listening to his voice and his accent. HIs music is wonderful. And his friendship with Lewis is so lovely to get glimpses of. And this was an amazing interview. Felt more like a chat. With actual questions.
I absolutely love this interview... awesome more in depth questions, we really get to understand him a little bit more and what makes him tick... thank you for going a little more below the surface ❤ he's my favorite artist and I love to learn a little bit more about him
Love this man 😍❤!! He is so wholesome ☺️ and well brought up! Kudos to his parents for raising a wonderful gentleman!! His voice and lyrics is a beautiful combo ❤️
I really loved this deep dive into Niall's life, even though would have loved to hear more about the process behind writing the new album and everything, at the end you focussed a little bit too much on an anxiety Niall apparently should have, but clearly said he doesn't. Apart from that, really great interview and a good vibe between you too, I loved listening!
Niall Horan is a credit to Ireland - as an older Irish gay man myself, I’m so proud to come from the same country as Niall, who is clearly doing Mullingar proud 🇮🇪☘️🇮🇪❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Well said. I agree.
He sounds like such a good guy--so grounded and connected to his roots. That certainly helps to navigate & enjoy life! Loved this interview--great questions!
Bringing out the popcorn . Gotta love this guy. So humble and down to earth. .
@ i don’t think his nationality has anything to do with it?? i think that’s just him as a person
First Niall has fantastic hair. Second he deserves all the success! So glad to see he’s stayed humble
Forget one direction, his accomplishments and him being talented .. i am freakin' impressed with his growth and personality compared to mine at the exact same age !!!!
Kudos to the interviewer and way to go Niall on your open and honest answers! Best interview ever!
This interview was so peaceful yet funny yet inspiring …loved it overall and obviously we love Niall and kudos to the interviewer aswell❤️❤️
That was an awesome interview. Love to see Niall doing so well.
27:47: "No I don't", brings back memories of Harry imitating Niall😁
He has not changed who he is at heart, no matter how successful he got. Mad, mad respect to Niall. ❤
Also, good interview. Such an organic conversation . 👍
Already have my ticket to see him in Dublin and as a 1D fan I’m genuinely so happy for him. He seems so happy and peaceful and hopeful after the madness than One Direction was. So proud of him ❤
I watched him on the Voice. He has a really good voice!
All of them are incredible talented! Those voices were the perfect match im very shook that Liam just died... fame is so dangeroud it can ruin so much
Not just died was just murdered by the SATANIC music money men.
Still a young man and already very insightful. Take my hat off to him. I'd crumble under that much pressure and attention.
I love him on the Voice . He seems so kind. He’s handsome and he rocks.I hope he stays on The Voice for a while.
You are absolutely adorable! an a amazing artist and person!
Very sweet. Love him on The Voice.
He really knows music inside and out and he has so many great insights. But he feels like he could be anybody's best friend.
Can't believe that cocky little kid after his 1st audition has grown into a very lovely man, with both feet on the floor - love you Niall
There was no fall of One Direction, it’s here and always will be, it had a rise and it stayed there, One Direction will live on forever
I almost felt I was growing up with them.Their songs then and now hold a lot of meaning in my life
What a lovely level headed young man.
A great interview so enjoyable to watch.
Fantastic Interview on both sides. Well done Oli and Niall.
Congrats Niall on staying so grounded and being what appears to be a truly grounded and sincere person.
And this is why I love Niall. Never said anything bad about his experience in 1D and the people they have around them.
So proud of Niall
So proud of the boys
HON MULLINGAR!!! I love how you never lost your accent Niall!!
Aww Dads comment he went to the interview and never came back!! Can u imaging their parent’s feelings. Whirlwind wow!! I love u Niall you’re a beautiful person with a great personality and an angelic voice!!❤❤❤
Looooove the interview! Great communication, great listener omg so so beautiful! Thank you! ❤️🥹
Great interview. We can feel you 2 got along very well. Thank you for making Niall so comfortable with respectful questions.
One of the best Niall interviews ever 👏🤩
Great interview! Thanks for opening up Niall💚
This is such a great interview! I’m so impressed with how grounded & humble these guys have stayed. ❤
what an amazing interview! I really appreciate how raw Niall was here
I really appreciate how much effort you put into simplifying things.
Naill you are amazing and you are so talented and down to earth your fame does not seem to of changed you. Keep being real
this was THE BEST INTERVIEW EVER thank you!!!
This was really great! Thanks so much for your lovely questions!
Best interview so far for this media tour. 👌
Yeah I agree
This interview is one of the best interview ive seen about 1d and niall .
You’re such a thoughtful interviewer. This was very enjoyable
“Well he’s at the toilet and he’s having a cigarette” why do I know these two are Harry and Louis respectively? 😂
I like this interview. Very casual & clear. I cant normally stand interviews, this one i enjoy & finished it. Nial is so sweet & amazing 🎉
This was a real pleasure to watch. A new fan right here.
What a great interview! Niall is sooo humble and honest. Love this guy❤
Niall is the best . A wonderful interview. Thank you ☘️☘️
Happy for Niall for all the good happened to his solo career❤
I love listening to his voice and his accent. HIs music is wonderful.
And his friendship with Lewis is so lovely to get glimpses of.
And this was an amazing interview. Felt more like a chat. With actual questions.
Fantastic interview it’s great to hear what he really went through & experienced.👍🏼✅🕺🏼💜🧡
Can't wait to see you next summer in Auburn, Wa. Thank you for being you Niall❤
I absolutely love this interview... awesome more in depth questions, we really get to understand him a little bit more and what makes him tick... thank you for going a little more below the surface ❤ he's my favorite artist and I love to learn a little bit more about him
great interview!!!!! one of the best in a long time
The comment in the last minute-- "they weren't looked after." Liam, anyone?
Such a lovely guy. I love his sense of Irish humour. Seems very grounded and level..very good solo Entertainer. Dont change . Well done to you
Love this man 😍❤!! He is so wholesome ☺️ and well brought up! Kudos to his parents for raising a wonderful gentleman!! His voice and lyrics is a beautiful combo ❤️
Niall’s hair is gorgeous ❤
I’m repeating what everyone else is saying but wow, this is an amazing interview. Great job interviewer/therapist! 💯👏🏼
Niall, all I'm 83 on the other end of time. Don't forget the mystery that got you through the journey and why it picked you for the trip.
I really enjoy this one. Esp bc its laidback & more a chat between two lads with mics infront of them.❤❤❤
Thank you for this interview, it was so interesting !
Niall Horan is a credit to Ireland - as an older Irish gay man myself, I’m so proud to come from the same country as Niall, who is clearly doing Mullingar proud 🇮🇪☘️🇮🇪❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
