I tried a strategy where I pumped the bottom of the deck with sludges and then blasted the deck with the jailer, hoping it would do a ton of damage. It doesn’t work sadly and the sludges just disappear.
I crafted The Jailer to try exactly this when it was a free dust refund, it didnt work, then the game updated and suddenly I couldn't dust him anymore for 1600. Jailer is actually a cursed character, garbage in wow, garbage in hearthstone
Silvermoon arcanist works well in this deck. Then your sludges do 6 damage a pop. ETC is also worth considering as then you put another steam cleaner, a silvermoon arcanist and something else in so you can get your other combo piece (tar slick is a decent pick).
I got sludge warlock deck idea through arena. The 4 mana 7/7 is soo0ooo0... powerful and a lot of generating sludge cards are common or rare cards. Great vid dude.
I am currently running into an endless stream of agro death knights. I have been annoying them with my control Big Miner Warrior and taunt deathrattle priest but a deck with a legitimate reason to run steam cleaner sounds doubly annoying for them.
Steam cleaner blows up all the sludges in BOTH players decks by the way. Which combos with sludge on wheels really wel of course. I’ve wondered if that 10 mana minion that destroys all cards in your hand deck and battlefield that is 10/10 and totally immune would be fun to use with this deck. Haven’t tried yet. Basically blow up all your sludges for a boat of damage, then next turn guaranteed 10 face damage. Seems good, but countered by any deck with big heals I suppose.
For him it'd be awful, not one of these games went to 10 mana so it would've just sat in his deck/hand doing nothing. Even if his other 2 games went to 10 mana that's still only 20% of games it might be useful. Also countered by any deck with taunts (dragon druid comes to mind with the taunt that makes more for each dragon in hand), if they survive the sludges then they can just keep dropping taunts until you fatigue yourself out.
i might give this one a try. been banging my head against the wall tryign to make curse and sludge work together but it's too inconsistant and vs pallies was struggling against b/c of board clear. I cringed when i saw that misplay that cost the game
Kekwait, steamcleaner sludge lock was proposed even before it was theorycrafted in Vicuoussyndicate article at November, 13 "40 Decks To Try Out On Day 1 Of Showdown In The Badlands"
In fact I don’t think the sledge barrel changing to 3 mana is a buff because in standard there just aren’t enough ways to discard them. When you need to play the barrel, now you lose even more tempo.
I wanna see a wild sludge deck where one of your only self-burn options is felreaver, so you absolutely pump your deck full of sludge and then drop felreavers, even if they have two destroy effects you're still burning 9 cards

Tome tapering is such a bad card. It does serve a purpose in this deck, but i would think removing them and adding Finley and another steam cleaner would be a better finish.
I've spent all m'y dust for your deck, 10 games 10 loose, nothing to lifesteal, only the crescendo for for zone damage, this deck is totale useless, thanks
I think Hearthstone should get rid of the shuffling your deck when cards randomly enter your deck at this point. I know it’s an imitation from how it is in real card games, but hearthstone does so many things already that would be impossible in real card games mechanically anyway. It’s also unintuitive to people not already familiar with it since it’s also not indicated. It should just be the more straightforward way of simply adding the new card at a random spot in your deck, not reshuffling your entire deck.
this is all very 2023 Hearthstone, wtf is even going on, the board condition and the win condition have almost nothing to do with what your opponent chooses to do
I'd maybe agree with you about some other decks like naga dh, but this one has a clear universal counterplay - fill your board with minions to tank sludge
So, what was the ratio of wins:losses that you had to suffer to find enough victory content for this video? You must've recorded for two days to find 8 wins. Aggro decks kill you before you can get anywhere. Your only hope of winning a game is if you run into one of the small handful of people who are running extremely slow control decks. In that first game, what on earth was even that Shaman deck? That was an easy win. Totem Shaman would've dropped you on Turn 5 or 6. In that second game, it was a control DK who hit absolutely nothing valuable on any of their turns. Third game, you're favored against Plague DK so that's a fair win. Fourth, it's generic Control Priest, so you're favored there too. Fifth game, it was basically that first Shaman game all over again. Sixth, you got damn near every fatigue card early to control everything so the Mage never stood a chance. Seventh game, Dragon Druid which is too slow to do much against this deck and they basically hit nothing that they needed to give them a fighting chance. Last game, Control Priest again, which you're favored against. So the tally stands at you had some nonsense Shaman decks to contend with, a bunch of control decks, and a few extremely unlucky opponents who got bad draws. Play 10 matches against pretty much anything that's meta right now and come back and tell me that you're 8 and 2. 😂
He is legend rank 11k. His MMR is probably f*vked from deckbuilding. He builds fun decks and didn't say they're meta. It's relatively good for a fun deck and you seem to have missed the point of this channel
I may have thought the Sludges were random instead of lowest health enemy for a good chunk of the video. But I still won a lot so it's ok, right?
If it makes you feel better, I thought Gnome Muncher was random for about 3 months.
"Excellent snipe"
Thanks for including Game 5!!
I was just about to comment how you were the fucking goat at acting like you didnt knew what the sludges did
We still love you Chump ❤
im glad you included the nature shaman game 😂
"Why does it say 'Shuffle'?"
The waste remover removed the control priest. Just as intended.
perfect timing, i just sat down to breakfast. nothing better to start the day with than my favorite hearthstone player playing my favorite class

jailer even worse than we thought
It destroys "the deck", not destroys "all cards in your deck"
Steam cleaner should work though!

Also it doesn't trigger, for some reason. It destroys deck not cards.

Sludgelock is so fun to say
Deck is sick. Im so happy for the warlock buff. Im tired of playing paliden just to grind. Been enjoying your videos a ton
Thought the baff would be massive in arena, but it's still pretty meh, without the sludge on wheels at least
Keep up the good work Chump
Chump you're the man for leaving game 5 in
Why dredger staff instead of like the void demon that makes you immune to damage on your turn?
Why? Thats an aggro-y deck, no need to save a slight bit of health. Staff gives great tempo
Anti-synergy with imprisoned horror (also, because the extra health from dredger is often very good)
Deck list for mobile?
Why did I never think of Steamcleaner.... Why am I so bad at this game
