I highly disagree about resolutions scaling at Ultra Quality having "the tiniest bit of visual quality difference". The dip in visuals is SUBSTANTIAL imo. More than any other single setting. Whatever scaling method they are using is not good - whether it is checkerboarding, FSR1, or an in-house solution. Maybe on a small screen like your laptop it is not as evident.
Good video, but I find it a bit odd that the settings you choose at the end to use are not reflected in the graphs, so we don't know what their performance is compared to low with AA, or if it's the same.
who the hell uses pre-set graphics settings? If someone takes the time to search up this video, we clearly want custom settings. At least include time stamps so I can skip the beginning lol
I appreciated seeing the difference between the render sampling methods but would rather you spend more time on honing in the custom settings. i.e. Glossing over which preset is a good starting point and then figuring out which settings you can re-enable that improve the virtual quality without decreasing performance too much.
In steam right click on your game > propreties > under Launch Option write "--use-d3d11" (two dashes without the " " of course.) Should make a difference, it's forcing the game to launch under DirectX11 instead of 12 and weirdly enough it seems to boost fps and make crashes less frequent (specially for low CPU) the game will be slow to start the first time don't worry. i'm running on a GTX1660Ti and AMD ryzen 5 3400G and i finally can play the game, it's not close at all from insane graphics but it makes it playable if you tweak the display option in game at low graphics. Also for better PC it appears to make it less hungry towards your CPU and your fan will stop sounding like a Ps4 loading the latest CoD menu.
The Barbed Wire and that chainlink fence looked very clean and stable with the supersampling enabled. Be interesting to see how far back before you can get before it looks smudgy
Helldive is when the fps seems to take a hit. If I play at low, and everything off but texture at high on a 4070, the fps is quite crazy good, but on helldive, it’s not. It don’t matter if my settings are high, low, the fps is the same. And someone else I played with has a system lower end than mine and his fps was pretty much the same, no matter what setting. I think impossible and helldive is when you can’t do much about the fps. Thats why I keep mine at high, as I play on helldive most of the time and fps doesn’t change unless it’s a lower difficulty with less enemies and less going on
There is barely any difference because Arrowhead are using the very bare bones basic FSR 1 technique, whilst Nvidia is already on DLSS 3.1, and AMD is releasing FSR 3, both of which see far better gains in quality and performance vs their original 1.0 counterparts. I stopped bothering to use performance/quality sampling settings in HD2, because it actually didn't uplift performance and even made made for more CPU usage. I'll probably try just medium settings, but still disable DoF, Motion blur, Camera Shake, Global Screenspace Illumination, Space quality and Sky quality to lowest.
i have a RTX 3090 TI and it keeps bouncing 30-55fps, i play on a 4K monitor and just cannot keep it above 60 even at the lowest settings, it looks like garbage and it still struggles.
i think a fix is to not play in 4k a rtx 3080 has max graphics and native display and it plays 90 fps no drops. your 3090 shouldent be doing this and i reccomend trying other resoloutions
I have a 3060, 16gb of ram, and an overall above average computer capable of running any game. I have always been used to playing on low graphics because I used to play on a laptop and even a MacBook. Now my habit is simple, new game? Lowest graphics, MAX FPS.
Yeah i cant get above like 40-50 frames cpu always at 80-100% if i put settings on low my gpu % drops but i keep the same frames cuz cpu is still high so i just play on ultra setting so gpu and cpu are both at 100 % lol I have a R5 3600 and a 6750xt
I just wanna let everyone know, me and my friend did extensive testing, and it doesn’t really matter much on any difficulty above hard. I find reducing settings on a 4070 does give you way over 90/115 fps quite often, but when you play on impossible or helldive. It doesn’t matter if my settings are high or low, the fps will always be 45/60. And that’s on a 4070!! My friend has a 2060 and a 3600 and on helldive, medium/low for him, he gets the same fps. It seems like it must be the games optimisation. My gpu sits art 60, and cpu 65, gpu and cpu usage is even most of the time, so on helldive and impossible it don’t mater really the settings, the fps is the same. I only find it helps increase the fps for lower difficulty’s with less bots/stuff going on

I install this sum'bitch and every setting set to low, minus draw distance and texture quality has my system fucking SCREAMING FOR MERCY at 90°C at times when it usually never went past the low 70's before. Also, when shit hits the fan and there's A LOT going on, bodies and rubble everywhere, etc, it either DOESN'T EFFECT the performance at all, or fucking brings it to it's knees randomly like single digit frame rate and garbled sound type shit. XD It's so bizarre.
People don’t realize you could have a bottle necked PC like if you have a high end GPU but you have intel five CPU. I am pretty sure this game is mostly CPU heavy

I have good fps on solo but in co-op (2-4 player) my fps goes down to 10-16 with directx11 enabled
