Oh my god!!! Holy Shit! How did I miss finding this Channel?!? Mr. Tarantino's jovial dialogues, interviews, podcasts or whatever are such packed textbook case studies of brilliant principals that can be applied to every form of art if you really listen to him.....which is not hard Wow! He's the Walt Disney(and I mean this utmost respect and awe) of film today and all things modern any sort. His thoughts, perspective flooded with color. His impact is so..... and this catch phrase I'm about to use makes me wanna barf like when everybody was all of a sudden saying 'it was soooo surreal' after 911..... He is the epitome of a....' Game Changer'!!!!! To the max! I hate that phrase but man, it sounds soooo perfectly fitting and freaking awesome when you describe Quentin Fucking Tarantino! ❤❤❤ DAMN! HOOKAH'! SHIT!
I didn’t think Tarantino wrote the cantaloupe line but I know for sure he wrote the next one, “*bang* *bang*I haven’t killed anybody*bang*since 1984*bang**bang*”.😂 QT is my favorite geek.😀👍
I've heard this commentary a few times already but it's a great upload. Thanks. I'm surprised YT allowed it? I tried to upload a 'Football Factory' commentary & I got copyrighted. P.s For those interested. The True Romance directors cut DVD has three awesome commentaries on it: This one with QT. one with Director Tony Scott (RIP) & a duo comm' with Christian Slater & Patricia Arquette.
1:23:40 I never noticed this before, but the cop incorrectly corrects the other's grammar. He said "They bring the suspect to me and Nicholson...", and the other cop corrects him that it should have been "...Nicholson and I", but that's not right. Since "to" is a preposition in this case, "Nicholson and me" is the correct object of the preposition, since you wouldn't replace it with "we", but rather "us", so you know it should be the objective case. I said that "to" is a preposition in this case, because it's also an infinitive sometimes, like when it's used with a verb, like "to go", for example. He used the correct case in the first place. It's polite to put the other person before yourself, but it's not a rule.
34:12 I could definitely tell this song was the only one chosen by Quentin in the film. The rest of the movie actually does well by having Tony Scott choose the rest of the music. Such a great film, can’t wait to watch it again, I get so giddy thinking about it.
Easy to know why it wasn't a 'box office smash'; I was 13 (1993 or 4) surfing through HBO's one late night and just stumbled on it. WTF is this i wondered 20 mins. in and wondering "why have i never heard about this". For some reason, the movie could get the stars but the cost of them must have restricted the advertising budget because no one I asked later had heard of it either. They did after i showed them the video recording i had made after that 20 min mark.
This is a real treat thanks for posting

The happy ending is what makes this movie so great.

Yep. the "Cantaloupe" line was improv'd by Walken.
"and you, you're part egg plant " was improvised by DennisHopper

Maybe it was a tongue in cheek humor thing. Since the guy correcting him is correcting him in the exact wrong way. Or is that what you’re also saying?

Wait, we’re watching the whole movie with the guy who wrote it? This is a “make a wish” dream.
Are you new to commentaries? there's loads of awesome ones out there.
I wish he had done a director commentary scene by scene instead of just talking about the business side and other overall topics
Probably didn't want come at Tony by saying how he would have done it
He didn't direct it
I’d like to rewatch this flick with a Tarantino score/soundtrack. And why didn’t Walken have a second scene? Great movie either way.
That was Walken's second scene. the first was cut. It was put back in the QT recut re-release.

Tarantino should remake True Romance in 2024
@@justman239 why?
You can't remake True Romance without going back in time and bringing back the actors. But yeah it would be cool to see Quintons vision.
