What a lovely garden you have, and maintained so well! Thank you for this valuable tip! I just planted Alstroemeria in every color in my garden. I did not know anything about this plant, so this was very useful, many thanks!
They are so beautiful and amazing. I never see such a big place with Alstromeria. I love that plant. Thank you for the informations. Kind regards from Germany
Thank you for watching and your nice comment. I always like to have big clumps of plants rather than the 'spotty effect' you sometimes get from small pieces of lots of different things. Best wishes,Rachel
Oh my!!! I had no idea astroemerias grew this much! I had seen them only as cut flowers, on flower arrangements. It's such a large plant! How fantastically beautiful! I can't get over this!!!! Wow!
Love this plant. So rewarding and a big bees favourite . Grows into bigger, stronger bush year after year. However it doesn't like all locations, so it can take some trial and error to find the right spot
Thanks for sharing ur tips! I didn't know that you have to pull out the whole thing! do you groe day lilies Rachel? if you do can you make a care video for them please? Thanks.
Great video as always❤️beautiful lily💐💐 I have planted Peruvian Little miss Zoe this year in the pots. How l look after Little miss Zoe lily in the winter, how can be protected from frost?
Hello Sharon, thanks for your response, I have just had a look at your webpage and am very impressed, so sorry for your loss , I live in Perth West Australia although originally from Manchester UK ( 55 yrs ago ) and bought my plant about 2 yrs ago, had it in a large pot where it seemed to just exist ?. I transplanted it into the garden bed about 9 months ago and its gone off like a rocket, everybody is asking for a cutting or the name , This leads me back to square one where I was/am scouring the net on how to propagate these plants, it is our winter at the moment with spring just around the corner, so maybe a good time if it is possible , hope you don’t mind my asking , Bye for now, Norman
Hello Norman. Thank you for your message and for watching. Propagation of alstroemeria cultivars is by division. I have successfully divided mine in autumn and spring, if this is of any help. Good luck, Rachel

Move your pot under shelter in winter or cover with fleece, depending on your climate.

How many plants are included in that Alstroemeria display please?

Hi I just bought one from.the store and was trying to pull out the stems by the root but they just kept snapping off even though I was pulling down near the base. Will it be ok? Thank you😊
Don't deadhead newly planted alstroemeria like this. Wait until next year. You might end up uprooting it or pulling it out of the pot.
Hello, a lovely garden, any idea why my six year old alstroemeria isnt putting up new shoots from the middle any longer. I always dead head in the same way as you do. Its my pride and joy, but not as magificent as yours ! A
Perennials die off in the middle over time. Try dividing it! Here's the video how to do it...
th-cam.com/video/BuE-Sf_pkEk/w-d-xo.html
Will these spread naturally planted in the ground?
Absolutely. Peruvian lilies are usually very vigorous and will spread.
Love your alstroemerias! I bought some "Sunset" ones, and are very beautiful. How many plants do you have in that area you showed?
I am sorry but I don't remember how many I originally planted. Plants spread over time, of course. Alstroemeria is a beautiful and great plant.
What would you do with the spent seeds ?
It's a hybrid. I don't think it produces seed. If it does you can always collect and sow it although seedlings will not be true to the parent
Great video, you saved my Alstroemeria..thanks again!
Glad to help.
You mentioned the name of the variety , it sounded lIke Auriana but I'm not finding any on google. Could you please type the name here? Thanks.

Yes, indeed

Tetrapanax papyrifera 'Rex'
Am a little confused. When I pull out the stems am I not supposed to something with the tubers - thanks
We never pull the stems out, we leave them in so they die down
No, don't touch the tubers. The plant makes enough stems by itself. Only the annual alstroemria cannot be treated like this.
