First time I saw Kongthoranee fight. The guy is super talented !
Superlek kills Haggerty in the rematch. I just don't see how Haggerty can beat this version of Superlek. Calm, collected, and always ready to throwdown with arguably some of the best muay thai we've ever seen.
This aged very well.

Im from Malaysia.. Kongthoranee my favorite fighter.. the way he fights is very calm.. but if the opponent gets hit by one punch from him they will feel like they are in hell😆.. hope one day Kongthoranee will be muaythai champion in one Championship
Cool to see the commentators mention how Superlek used a tactic from his last opponent (Takeru). Always adding to his arsenal of weapons, which is scary to think about for his opponents

I really like Kongthorane. I wish he would have taken more risks on this fight. I really think he’s underrated since he’s not so outgoing or flamboyant as the others in his division. He has damn near perfect that high guard, love it!
Taking risks in front of Superlek, is taking risks in front of Superlek. Not recommended....ever. Dude could break your bones with 1 bad block.

Crazy thing is SuperLek was not going all out in this fight. I know when he goes all out is when he grunts when he attacks. All I know is I'm too excited to see Jarred Brooks fight next month and SuperLek in September against Haggerty.

Super Lek= Very Small cuz when he started Muay Thai, he was small OR Super iron which refers to his strong kicks.
Kong= Echo or Loud. Thoranee= Earth sums up to “Renowed thru Earth” All Muay Thai boxers or Nak Muay have first names which are derived from characters, legends etc…last name is the Gym they represent these names are Ring names…. I hope this tradition lives on!!…

Superlek really felt those kicks from Kongthoranee. Both are fighting really safe and IQ. However, these angle changes and teep to disrupt Kongthoranee's rhythym from Superlek makes him look more intelligent this fight.

I’ve been wondering the same
Because it's ONE Championship Muay Thai. They really only emphasize the striking part of Muay Thai because Chatri and others in charge feel like it's the most "entertaining" part. This is why you'll see clinches get broke up after a couple of seconds because the officials feel like it stalls the fight and it's not exciting. Meanwhile in real Muay Thai these techniques are encouraged.

Well I think the best way to describe ONE's version of Muay Thai as kickboxing except elbows are allowed lol.
Tbh it would make a top fight like this kind of boring to see for most,it's part of the sport,but not very entertaining.

Kong is not in the top 5, yet Chatri made a big mistake by matching him with the top dog. SL measured and controlled this fight against a very dangerous opponent. Haggerty is not at SL's level. He looks good in the offense but SL will not let him breathe. Under pressure, Haggerty will crumble just like in their previous fight.
I don't think that was a mistake. Chatri matching this pretty much just to give Kongthoranee a lesson, he use the exact same style as Superlek in the past. He's strong, but too careful to throwing weapons, and it makes his matches quite boring for somes, which is why it took so long with 7 consecutives wins (instead of usual 4) to get him the contract. I think they've been trying to molding him into next Superlek.
