Very good research. Although, I don't understand why you didn't include Sally Acorn as one of the most popular Sonic characters when showing Richard Kuta.
Sure, people only could find out about her from Archie comics, but just like Shadow she caused a lot of debates in Sonic fandom, and not just any debates, but a war between fans of Japanese and American Sonic making both sides really weird and obnoxious.

I appreciate the comment and critique, if I am being entirely honest that element of Richard Kuta did not actually occur to me and I had forgotten about it during the process of making this video. I'm sure if I had been more aware I could have made a point relating to this with thorough research that relates to the video, interesting observation, thank you!

Really appreciate it, I found it really tiring during the process as to what visuals were needed to convey the imagery of a period or the visualisation of the sensation associated with certain aspects e.g. the dissolution of the Sonic fanbase in its older form or the gradual rise of SEGA as a corporation. Premiere Pro broke a few times with the effects.

Oh wow thank you! I wish I genuinely had more time to create more videos like this on a far more regular basis but I frankly at the moment have not got the time to commit to consistent uploads. With that being said I do genuinely hope to create a lot more videos that uphold this quality, I really appreciate the feedback.

Yeah, that's an interesting way of looking at it, this sort of cultural darkness that set in at least within an American context after the September 11th attacks. So, in a way it might sound absurd to say it but the creation of Shadow the Hedgehog is a rippled consequence of 9/11.

That is definitely a key factor, but I do not believe that was the sole reason and getting caught up in that solely, loses many key elements as to what makes the curation of the Sonic fanbase so fascinating.

@@creaturesofpotenia2811 I mean, it's a joke, but it's also kind of not a joke at the same time. I worked in public schools for a while, and there were kids who were Sonic super fans. Nearly all of them were borderline non-verbal autistic 😅
