yeah the thing is we see the up here and the down there but we don't see the transition from the side while we are standing on top. I got to remember there's a nice fun slide that will bring me down (safely?).
Yes literally i stood at the bottom of the half pipe ( barely anybody goes to my park because it is a small town) and im like this inst tall then i got on top and went NOPE
I was in the same position. But if you commit and do it again and again, at some point the ramps will look taller from the bottom than from the top. At least that's for me. Sometimes, when I drop a 4 foot, quite steep, ramp I look at it from the bottom and I'm surprised that I can drop *that*. I'm still in the transition, of building enough confidence to drop anything taller than that, though
i dropped in but not a steep ramp yet because i was at my house and my house has a driveway but, i didn’t commit and I did fall but after that i never fell.
i was teaching a friend how to drop in and told him you gotta lean forward. after about 3 weeks of him chickening out, he finally decided to do it because his sister dropped in on the 6 footer and only took her about 6 minutes to get the courage. he felt he had to redeem himself so instead of doing it on the 3, 4, or 6 foot ramp he went to the 8 footer that had about 3 feet of vert. he leaned so far forward that he did a nose manual down the ramp and did a full body slam.
i'm 37 and just started skating again, today i learned to commit and dropped in. I've never been on a ramp in my life, thanks lance for showing how i could die which helped me commit sooner.
hey johny how are ya. this post was 5 years ago im just curious of how your doing now as i am 37 and just started skating again myself and this is where im at now trying to get myself to commit
Lance skate supports are the best thing braille came up with. That said, I think the easiest way to learn to drop in is to have a friend lend a hand.. literally. After a couple times you can do it by yourself easily. That's how I learned.
I've seen quite a few guys helping each other out learning to drop in like that at the park. Nothing wrong with it. One has to be pretty insecure in their sexuality, if they can't hold another's hand for a second to help them out.
NEXT Well I have seen people being taught like that at my local park. It really is the easiest way to teach someone that doesn't really skate. I see no shame in learning like that at all. Yes you're gonna get hurt while skating but if you can avoid them best to do that. I've broke/fractured ankles wrists fingers toes and even pop my shoulder between my ribs(which really fucking hurt), if you can get away without doing any of that better for you in the long run.
TheTornado121 Dude... I went and skateboarded today and I was bout ready to give up... LOL... I feel like I am hitting a wall at this point... I got like 20 more lbs to lose till I am really right but yea I wish I never stopped at 15. Fuck... lol I know I just gotta push through it but it is damn frustrating...
***** That is awesome man! Humbling watching the 12 years olds shred harder than you right? At my park there is this 8 year old (YES 8!!) who is doing melons over the spine and shit.. Crazy...
I started again with a longboard to get the fundamentals down. It's great exercise and I feel like I'm getting better every time I go out. I'm thinking next summer I'll attempt the regular skateboard and learn some tricks eventually.
I never managed to get the bottle to do this as a kid and ended up quitting skating. Now I'm 22, I've just bought a new board and endlessly watching Aarons videos to try and get rid of my ingrained fear of dropping in.
Someone said “act like you’re grabbing the nose of the board” and that helped me a ton since it’s a lot of your shoulders leaning to get you stable on the board
This video really helped me! Nailed the drop-in yesterday at 33 yrs old (we didn't have this stuff when I was a kid), same day as my 8 year old daughter, our first time at an indoor (or any) state park as we've only been skating for a week. The support from all the people there is pretty amazing, we've made lots of friends already.
Good Street skater, maybe not so good vert teacher. This is a whole different type of world. 1.) This is vert. Wear protection. Helmet, pads etc. not only that it protects you like the pros use but it gives you balls and confidence!
2.) It's not just leaning your weight forward and slapping the board down. It's about the correct body positioning and techniques just like doing a setup for a street trick. When you about to drop in put your back foot on the tail and your front foot or the front bolts. Compress and lean into it. Focus more on your foot positioning and look at the front of your board then the bottom of the pool. If you look at the vert transition and the bottom your mind will freak out on you. It's all muscle memory mental and practice getting down the right technique and fundamentals. Once you can do a little one the big one is the same thing. Be safe
This is useful stuff. I'm 27 and haven't rode a board for 12+ years. Took my son (7) to a skatepark for the first time last week and some 17yr old had a pop at him for getting in the way so I volunteered to skate with him, watching these videos has certainly helped. Thanks Aaron/Team Braille
You should start from the bottom and do kickturns and little grinds for a while before you drop in. It gives you a feel for the transition. After that dropping in comes naturally.
Dude, you are totally right: thats the way to do it. Maybe combined with a good set of protectors, to build confidence. I learned it the hard way: If you feel REALLY scared, than often for a reason: because you just put yourself in REAL danger. And the way to do it is not to force yourself to ignore that, but to trust your instincts and find easier learning step until there is no barrier any more, but just a smoth improvement over several steps. I learned to drop in on a real halfpipe. The highest available in town. And I live in a 3,5 Million inhabitans city. Around 3 meters in total, with a ladder to climb up and with about one first vertical meter. On my first day in a skatepark at all. Without any warm up or riding the halfpipe ever, but with inliners, which makes it a lot easier than on a board. My only preperation was that I played ice hockey and in summer we trained sometimes with inliners. My friends have been professional skate boarders. And they just wanted to scare the shit out of me and told me the best way to learn it would be to just do it, like jump from 10 meter into water. I guess with the expactation, that I would chicken out for sure and would be forced to climb down the ladder humbled. I did it and landed it on the first try. They were impressed indeed. But later that day I dislocated my shoulder on the same ramp. And got a swelling at my hip with about half a liter of fluid inside. The swelling was so big, the skin seperated for all times from my body and looked like a saggy tit for about four years and is still visible today. Now, eight years later, I have to undergo another surgery for the shoulder. With slim chances on improvment. And if there is no improvment, than my only sport in life will be watching this clips.....
As a returning skater (stopped at 17 and picking it back up at 44), this was incredibly helpful in mentally preparing to drop-in again. Thank you for your insistence on basic principles to follow, helps when I'm staring down the quarter pipe.
3 years later and I can still learn a lot from this video Ty for everything, I tried doing a drop in but I ended up just trying it once and just quitting. Now I actually want to go back to the skate park and try it and do it finally. Ty R.I.P Lance you will be missed
I've not yet seen the whole video so I don't know if they have adressed this, but there is one thing I noticed. Aaron and others lean forward and down for a while before moving any weight on the front foot and slamming it down. If you just try to lean forward and slam your board down, you will be slamming it too soon and you will straighten your legs and fall. So lean forward and down before the board even starts to move. It is like it is lagging behind. Then you can land your board on the ramp with bent legs, making it easier to keep your balance.
Great video, shows what are the fears/difficulties one has to overcome before doing the first drop in. Usually we think it is easy when a pro does it, but mistakes are what I am looking for which is clearly shown here.
you have to slam your front wheels down before gravity pulls the whole board down, faster than you would freefall. i bend my knees alot more, which helps me balance plus i get a huge pump out of it. of course that might not do any good on a mini ramp, the bowl im used to is like 6' i think. i had the opposite problem as lance though, i leaned too far forward and face slammed alot.
Back on a board at 50 after like 35yrs. Never did this. Just started on the shallow ramp this morning. So heart warming to see a goofy gangly guy like me fail on repeat..like me. Thank you Lance!!
it helped me alot to have a friend standing at the bottom and holding my hands. thanks braille for inspiring me to start skateboarding! it's sooooooo much fun!
when I was 14 I dropped in on a 5 ft. quarter pipe my buddy's dad built. We didn't know anything about leaning that far forward. I slipped right up at the lip and slammed my back right on the coping. Its because I didn't' commit to it. I'm 25 now and over all these years of skating that is the one bail I can remember. I thought I broke my back for real. I couldn't breathe and my arms and legs were tingling. Aaron isn't kidding when he says this is dangerous. I'm actually surprised Lance didn't fall backward. He was actually lucky to get away with it as many times as he did.
Am loving these Lance Live Skate Support series - I can totally emphasize with him that fear of standing up the top the moment before dropping in... it's awesome having Aaron demonstrate first and then Lance's go - it feels as though I'm actually there watching it and participating too! Glad he made it out alive, looking forward to seeing more of these videos!!
Just gettin into skateboarding again at 34. Having so much fun. So glad I found this channel. Looking forward to more progression.... how you say.. FIRST TRY!!!!
I give Lance props. When I first learned how to drop in my friends kept pushing me to do it after 1 million times I landed it and it felt great. Commitment is very crucial in skating. Good job Lance 😁
Wow I love how at your skatepark there’s skateboarders..but at my skateparks we have BMX and scooters, and I can make the Braille army grow in Australia, so turn those scooters and BMX’s to Skaters. LET THE RISE OF THE BRAILLE ARMY BEGIN!!!!.
Dude, dropping in has been one of my major goals for so many years. I stopped skateboarding in 2015, and i made a comeback last friday (august 10th). I'm fully commited, i will do it this year for the first time. Just so you guys know, i've been skating since 2006. It just so happens that skateboarding wasn't so popular in Brazil back then, and also there were not too many skateparks around the city. Thanks god that's different nowadays. Thanks, guys!!!!
After soooo many years i just discovered this channel arron is sssuuuuuch an awsum teacher and lance live skate support is my faves and im finally getting me a skateboard.💝🙌😭😷💞
I also thought about not wanting to fall backwards when dropping in, so I just committed, but then pressed a little too much and fell forward because of it.
Armando G. 😂 see. I’ll never b able to drop in anymore. You can’t lean back cuz you’ll bust your head on the edge, can’t lean TOO forward cuz then you fall forward. Like what the hell now💀
I haven't skated since I was a teenager. Now in my 30's I want to try and start again thanks to these videos but I could feel the fear even though I wasn't there trying to drop in myself haha. I hope I'm not too old to start up again!. Great informative videos though!
Here's a little word of advice for all you new skaters who are just starting out, if Lance would've just kept his weight FORWARD like Aaron TOLD HIM TO from the VERY BEGINNING, he would've learned how to drop in after just four or five attempts instead of like 20 attempts.
Yah well on your first try your natural instinct is to lean back so you don’t fall so learning to drop in is mentally just telling yourself to put all of your weight on your front foot
Snowboarding actually helped me a bunch because doing the quarter pipe there is really fucking easy and i didnt really have to learn anything just keep your body on top of the board, like in skateboarding. I learnt the vert half pipe 3 days after i began learning the mini ramp and im glad i got the experience of balance and weight distribution from snowboarding. That definetly saved me from a lot of battle scars!
I love skateboarding and as I am now 25 and havent been actively filming or skating with friends for nearly a decade now some recent events that hit me personally has given me the final push to get on my board starting from getting back into the scene with videos like braille and berrics to my dear friend that i skated with every day when we all skated passing away. he passed away this exact day last year in 2016. His names was Darrin Joe and he is in almost all of my skate part edits. Darrin was one of the best in our group and like most of us, we lost our connection to skating while growing up. Darrin passed away and watching his old parts I made really got me feeling nostalgia and happiness seeing and remembering how much fun we had riding this piece of wood. It made me think about how much more fun we could have had if I was able to skate as well as my friends so I could also participate in games of skate or just go have a sesh without my camera holding me back behind the scenes. In early June, leading up to Darrin's memorial of passing away I entered in Daewon Song's daejavu adidas and almost contest. Darrin's favorite skater was Mikey Taylor because of his part in Skate More and we would always watch and talk about that video part as Darrin literally would only buy AWS Mikey boards and even buy 2 pairs of his DVS pro models, one to skate and one to keep completely flawless and wear only on the most special of occasions. I entered in on the contest not thinking of actually having a chance to win and just so happened to require me to pick a Daewon part and trick that he was redoing a trick on. I used his Skate More intro section of him falling on his tricks as it was a very memorable part and video to me and Darrin since I had a huge fandom to Daewon because of his Korean background while Darrin who is also Korean loved Mikey. We would both laugh so hard at Mikey's intro and Daewon's falling section. I ended up winning the contest winning a free pair of Adidas Daewon colorways and a complete Almost deck during the time I was really missing my friend as his one year anniversary since his passing was coming up. When I realized I won, I had a sudden flashback about the time Darrin and I met Daewon at our local shop, Liberty Boardshop and remembered how stoked we were to see Daewon randomly walk in and finally meeting one of our favorite skaters. Winning the shoes and board had a huge impact on me as it felt like it was such an unforseeable coincidence that I had won the contest from that specific skater using that specific video. A combination of nostalgia and watching videos like Braille's has gifted me with the motivation and will power to skate again. This is when I stumbled across Lance's hardflip landing video, which once again had a huge correlation to my friend who's most memorable trick landed was his hardflip down the Chino 3 block that we weren't even filming, but I just so happened to turn on my camera while sitting down on the four block and captured Darrin's banger with the most lucky angle ever. Darrin was known in our community because of this trick being such a perfect land and we used to think doing any flip trick down a set was the most gnarly achievement. To basically sum up this ridiculously long story, all of these events in the order that they happened and in what nature it was being skateboarding, I felt as if I had an enlightenment or a sign from my dear friend Darrin to get up off my ass and stop moping around being sad about life in general as I have been in a stagnant stage of doing nothing after work and being so inactive both socially and physically. I want to thank Braille and Lance and all those involved in these events that have most likely saved my life from spiraling down into a dark abyss of sorrow and being stuck in the past. I have now decided to re-open my interest in both skating and video production by using my TH-cam account that I started back in 2005 when we first started filming and skating. It means the world to me that my channel stays alive as it has all of my memories of skating with my most close friends and especially having the ability to see Darrin whenever I am missing him or thinking about him. I don't know why I am writing this to Braille, but today being his anniversary had me thinking a lot about him and the memories, which I have now committed myself to creating new videos for the sake of keeping my channel up and running for the world to see my will to learn how to skate and hopefully to show the world that didn't know Darrin will watch his skating. I am so very excited to regain my passion of skating and video production. Rest in peace Darrin Joe, I will learn how to do a hardflip and I will do a hardflip down the Chino 3 block by following Aaron's guide to skating and follow along Lance's progression. If anyone wants to be part of this, please feel free to join me on my personal endeavors to honor my late friend and hopefully revive my old times into a modern day version that Darrin would be proud of.
What higher above the ground? The board would scrap against the ground, because skateboards are somewhat tall, holding it sideways would make it level with your arms, while holding it by the wheels would make it stand straight up.
Have been going to the skatepark a couple of weeks now, but still haven't done any drops in a pipe. Going to train this tomorrow. Wish me luck! :) Thanks for the videos and the skating lessons. I have been your stuf into practice and like it!
Best thing I did... and after 3 years off the board and starting to get back into it, was learning first how to fall properly and controlled into a bowl with full pads and helmet. Takes alot of the scare factor away from actually dropping in.
I'm 61 and trying to drop in on my concrete 4' ramp, lance is doing exactly what I have done, pussing out.i fell back and hit my helmet really hard, living in the forest in Mexico with no one around, pads and patience.
Hi this steven from Uganda of East African countries, i felt overwhelm with how you were teaching your friend on how to dropp in. I am having passionate about getting more skills on skateboad but the problem i don't own one. would you mind to get for me one
That is the best part, when you continue and look back you will see the progress you made. It is similar to learning an instrument....you suck...for a while...but if you keep at it, you are guaranteed to improve.
Corey Statler Yea its incredible. Going from barely being able to stay on the board and now 2 months back in I am landing pretty much the 6 basics tricks. Kick flips are eluding me quite well though... I even ollied and mannied onto a manny pad!! That shit felt amazing!!!
This is the best video tutorial I have ever seen. I'm coming very late to skate boarding 30+ and it's terrifying to drop in as u feel like ur gonna die and to be fair I went down a slope and did the thing I shouldn't have done and that was to lean back and boy did I get hurt.
hey Lance, i did it. thank you for giving me the balls to do this. i been putting this up for to long and today I'm going to the Downtown park to drop the big bowl. i did the mini yesterday and the small quoter. i got this bro
the simple term "slam your front wheels down" would have sufficed. "Commit" is a difficult term for someone to understand who isn't fully sure how to execute the move.
Not true. Aaron is telling him what to commit to, and he's not committing to that. He keeps leaning his weight towards the tail. Arron is telling him to commit to putting his weight in the front. So it's really just about getting over the fear and committing to Aaron's pointers :)
the very first thing I ever learnt on a skateboard was dropping in the bowl 8ft first time board slid from under me at the bottom second time went behind me third TRY nailed it was dropping in from first five mins being in park the guy who's bored I borrowed and all thee other guy's were so shocked was heel flipping second week and nearly landing a dolphin heel after 3 months was just really weird how quickly I picked it up. love you're you make it we skate it videos keep them coming amazeballs
Watching Lance do all these support videos is actually very empowering for someone like me. I started skating at like 18, pretty late to begin and get pretty good I feel but now seeing him do it I feel as though I'm still at a good age to atleast get decent
Dude I'm learning just now at 44! I wish I was 18 again. You have at least 30 years or more to skate. I have 10. Can I skate at 60? Thats pretty insane but I guess its possible.
When you're up there looking down, it looks so much steeper.
yeah the thing is we see the up here and the down there but we don't see the transition from the side while we are standing on top. I got to remember there's a nice fun slide that will bring me down (safely?).
Yes literally i stood at the bottom of the half pipe ( barely anybody goes to my park because it is a small town) and im like this inst tall then i got on top and went NOPE

is he ok
yeah, he was fine. he got hurt but not broken.
Lmfao 😂
Sifu Kyle Really nice to know man. Thanks
i'm 37 and just started skating again, today i learned to commit and dropped in. I've never been on a ramp in my life, thanks lance for showing how i could die which helped me commit sooner.
krasava bratan
nice one 35 and just dropped in today, first time in about 20yrs!!
hey johny how are ya. this post was 5 years ago im just curious of how your doing now as i am 37 and just started skating again myself and this is where im at now trying to get myself to commit
these skateparks looks so sick...

Indeed, however, many injuries can be easily avoided. So I see no shame in getting help and/or wearing pads, etc.
luiza177music I agree when you first learn to drop in where safety gear if you want.

one thing that helped me drop in was instead of thinking 'shift weight forward' i thought 'lift weight off back foot'
It took me alot to learn jump into it almost helps the board stay still for a sec to me so I can slam the front down
Ayeeeee I love your channel
yes it helped me too
pealpealpeal good yes
GO FAST AND COMMIT IS THE SECRET OF LIFE
I followed that advice and I expect Braille to pay for my speeding ticket
I heard this saying that “ If you wait till your ready, you’ll be waiting forever,”
So true
anyone else been binge watching skateboarding vids and now wants to try it?
Yes and I really did and now I am so angry at myself I didn't start to skate when I was a bit younger.

@@johnferreira9857 thanks man !
I like how completely honest with Lance that Aaron was about the dangers though, that's a good teacher right there.
eh all it did was scare him. If someone told me I mess up I am in serious danger it would make it not want to do it.
I just dropped in!
noice
Nice bro
Projectile2 Awesome dude
Projectile2 Noice
I dropped in a 80 degree ramp
A helmet would’ve probably made him a lil bit more confident
that's what I was thinking. Some pads might help his confidence. Also is that really his stance? He looked pretty shaky.
fashion over pain
@@wpfairchild he was probably anxious being recorded or something, don't know tbh could be many reason
Fr dude. I wear pads all the time and it's like a cheat code for my self confidence lol With pads, full send isn't as intimidating 🤙
It does for me

Great video, shows what are the fears/difficulties one has to overcome before doing the first drop in. Usually we think it is easy when a pro does it, but mistakes are what I am looking for which is clearly shown here.
you have to slam your front wheels down before gravity pulls the whole board down, faster than you would freefall. i bend my knees alot more, which helps me balance plus i get a huge pump out of it. of course that might not do any good on a mini ramp, the bowl im used to is like 6' i think. i had the opposite problem as lance though, i leaned too far forward and face slammed alot.
I learned how drop in into a mini ramp last saturday. I was so excited, I started skateboarding last 18 th october
HOLY SHIT THAT PARK! I COULD ONLY SKATE THERE IN MY WET DREAMS
It motivates me to practice more when I see professionals learning new tricks!
what the hell he almost did rock to fakie 10:36
Haha, stay posted
it took me like 3 months after i learned to drop in to even try and attempt a rock to fackie >.
umm no actually for one, i barley go to skateparks and two, i didnt have anyone to teach me i just learned by myself
Noddle Mann i dont even have a skatepark anywear near me so it takes me ages !
try buiding a mini ramp or skate part obstacles or search for street spots. i dont mean to be rude or anything thats just what ive been trying
Back on a board at 50 after like 35yrs. Never did this. Just started on the shallow ramp this morning. So heart warming to see a goofy gangly guy like me fail on repeat..like me. Thank you Lance!!
Why no pads/helmet? - builds confidence for a fall to be minor
it helped me alot to have a friend standing at the bottom and holding my hands.
thanks braille for inspiring me to start skateboarding! it's sooooooo much fun!
when I was 14 I dropped in on a 5 ft. quarter pipe my buddy's dad built.
Well I was about to fully commit to this until I read this...
That happened to me before
Haha i hit my hip trying to 50-50 a quarter pipe right on the coping still scared to do it but i feel it coming no more slipping out and commiting cx
Sam Henry when I first learned to drop in that’s the thing I was most scared of, but ended up slamming on my hip every time lol
Its so awesome watching Lance progress. He has made so much improvement and learned so much since he started
I don't think telling him he can die if he falls is going to help x)
Am loving these Lance Live Skate Support series - I can totally emphasize with him that fear of standing up the top the moment before dropping in... it's awesome having Aaron demonstrate first and then Lance's go - it feels as though I'm actually there watching it and participating too! Glad he made it out alive, looking forward to seeing more of these videos!!
People dropping in for the first time is the funniest thing ever
Except when they land it then I'm kinda bummed haha
True
I dropped in 1st time lmao
lance is very lucky to have you teaching him. I appreciate you and your videos. awesome!
Dropping in was like riding a bike for me, I never forgot it.
same
Just gettin into skateboarding again at 34. Having so much fun. So glad I found this channel. Looking forward to more progression.... how you say.. FIRST TRY!!!!
People who have never been on the top of a ramp thinks it’s easy, it’s so scaryyyy
I give Lance props. When I first learned how to drop in my friends kept pushing me to do it after 1 million times I landed it and it felt great. Commitment is very crucial in skating. Good job Lance 😁
When you're about to drop in just think: "I'm a PITBULL!" That's it
Wow I love how at your skatepark there’s skateboarders..but at my skateparks we have BMX and scooters, and I can make the Braille army grow in Australia, so turn those scooters and BMX’s to Skaters. LET THE RISE OF THE BRAILLE ARMY BEGIN!!!!.
I reckon Lance is an undercover pro skater
HyPhY Norfolk boy
You absolutely nailed it. I decided to wear pads and a helmet, but I got there, thanks Aaron you're the best!
its important to fall tho, then you definitely know what not to do
Dude, dropping in has been one of my major goals for so many years.
FINALLY! The skate support I always wanted to see :D
After soooo many years i just discovered this channel arron is sssuuuuuch an awsum teacher and lance live skate support is my faves and im finally getting me a skateboard.💝🙌😭😷💞
A hot girl walked by just when he fell the worst of all the falls
That was my mom
@@kyoushitsue1360 the roblox profile pic says everything 'bout u 7 year old 😔
Way to go lance. Ive been trying to drop in on a local mini ramp and after watching this video im 100% gonna do it.
I also thought about not wanting to fall backwards when dropping in,
so I just committed, but then pressed a little too much and fell forward because of it.
Armando G. 😂 see. I’ll never b able to drop in anymore. You can’t lean back cuz you’ll bust your head on the edge, can’t lean TOO forward cuz then you fall forward. Like what the hell now💀
@@SoggyCig practice
congo update, 5 months have passed since the last comment I left.. I can now drop in 😂
@@SoggyCig awesome !!? Congrats. What can you do now after all this time ??
I haven't skated since I was a teenager. Now in my 30's I want to try and start again thanks to these videos but I could feel the fear even though I wasn't there trying to drop in myself haha. I hope I'm not too old to start up again!. Great informative videos though!
Here's a little word of advice for all you new skaters who are just starting out, if Lance would've just kept his weight FORWARD like Aaron TOLD HIM TO from the VERY BEGINNING, he would've learned how to drop in after just four or five attempts instead of like 20 attempts.
X.Ploit LOL RIGHT a couple of my friends and i went to Airdrie park with a bowl like 2x as big as this one and we all did it on our own 1st try
Yah well on your first try your natural instinct is to lean back so you don’t fall so learning to drop in is mentally just telling yourself to put all of your weight on your front foot
Greetings from Poland Lance :) People from all over the world watch you, you are the best Lance!
anyone else notice that girl that kept on walking past behind them?😂
Snowboarding actually helped me a bunch because doing the quarter pipe there is really fucking easy and i didnt really have to learn anything just keep your body on top of the board, like in skateboarding. I learnt the vert half pipe 3 days after i began learning the mini ramp and im glad i got the experience of balance and weight distribution from snowboarding. That definetly saved me from a lot of battle scars!
Dude, seriously, the entire time, I was like, "LANCE, LEAN FORWARD!!"
5:54 When you get caught Mall Grabbing 😂
RowingNoob But if you mall grab that’s putting the board straight up making it taller, that doesn’t make sense.
RowingNoob Holding it sideways would be better for short people than mallgrabbing and scraping the board on the ground.
What higher above the ground? The board would scrap against the ground, because skateboards are somewhat tall, holding it sideways would make it level with your arms, while holding it by the wheels would make it stand straight up.
RowingNoob Because 1 it looks weird sometimes 2 it’s really hated 3 it’s the way most posers hold it.
RowingNoob Hold it how ever you wish, it’s just something that people don’t like in the skateboarding community
Have been going to the skatepark a couple of weeks now, but still haven't done any drops in a pipe. Going to train this tomorrow. Wish me luck! :) Thanks for the videos and the skating lessons. I have been your stuf into practice and like it!
I applaud this dude though. He looks old enough to be a dad.
dropping in as a beginner really teaches you on how to commit and not commiting will bring you a near death experience
4 years later it's still true, once you learn to commit alot of tricks become easier
Who else saw the babe skater
Best thing I did... and after 3 years off the board and starting to get back into it, was learning first how to fall properly and controlled into a bowl with full pads and helmet. Takes alot of the scare factor away from actually dropping in.
I'm 61 and trying to drop in on my concrete 4' ramp, lance is doing exactly what I have done, pussing out.i fell back and hit my helmet really hard, living in the forest in Mexico with no one around, pads and patience.
dude!! I was a skater when i was 15 years old, now Im 24 and start skatebarding again, and somehow I learn more seeing Lance skating
I now have matching scars on both hips from repeated failed drop ins
Well, at least you remain symmetrical lol
@@justforthetv PFFT-
Wow, what a throwback. A video Gabe was filming without talking.
Hi this steven from Uganda of East African countries, i felt overwhelm with how you were teaching your friend on how to dropp in. I am having passionate about getting more skills on skateboad but the problem i don't own one. would you mind to get for me one
he wont
Okay
he wont sadly
I practice dropping in on my neighbors driveways. It's really helpful
I saw Aron seeing that girl hahaha
Lance = best. I hope your happy and still skating!
I can't even balance myself on flat ground ugh
That is the best part, when you continue and look back you will see the progress you made. It is similar to learning an instrument....you suck...for a while...but if you keep at it, you are guaranteed to improve.
Corey Statler Yea its incredible. Going from barely being able to stay on the board and now 2 months back in I am landing pretty much the 6 basics tricks. Kick flips are eluding me quite well though... I even ollied and mannied onto a manny pad!! That shit felt amazing!!!
I love the live skate supports, if I can watch someone learn a trick in a day I know i can do it aswell
The way I teach people to drop in, is think of focusing your board, but instead of snapping it, you just ride away.
This video has gave me confidence to do a drop in thank you Aaron :)
this was the scariest thing for me
This was great....and hilarious!
Nice job, Lance !
Get lance to ollie a 3 stair! :D
noah cook I will try to do a 5 stair
noah cook Yes
This is the best video tutorial I have ever seen. I'm coming very late to skate boarding 30+ and it's terrifying to drop in as u feel like ur gonna die and to be fair I went down a slope and did the thing I shouldn't have done and that was to lean back and boy did I get hurt.
who else didn't watch the skating at 3:32 to 3:38... be honest. 😂
I had to rewind so I could listen to what they said😂
meeee
And again near the end
she walked past like 3 times
I know, they took me-SHE took me by suprise
hey Lance, i did it. thank you for giving me the balls to do this. i been putting this up for to long and today I'm going to the Downtown park to drop the big bowl. i did the mini yesterday and the small quoter. i got this bro
the simple term "slam your front wheels down" would have sufficed.
Greetings from Brasil. Great Job, guys!
I learned to drop in on my 2nd try
Same
GrizzlyMC me too but it took me like 5 minutes of standing there staring at the ramp before going for it
GrizzlyMC Dude me to!
GrizzlyMC Same
I actually did it on my first try on like a 4 feet quarter, but I stood Luke on there 20 times walking off again xD
Thanks for learning drop in, I did the worst fail ever and almost broked my arm, but i survived and now I can drop in!
Can someone please give that girl some attention. She walks by so "casualy" carrying her board like a pro xD
seriously
Yaaaa Lance! Doing AMAZING!! Keep up the good work!!!!!
Lance, Braille needs to hook you up with a helmet dood!
the very first thing I ever learnt on a skateboard was dropping in the bowl 8ft first time board slid from under me at the bottom second time went behind me third TRY nailed it was dropping in from first five mins being in park the guy who's bored I borrowed and all thee other guy's were so shocked was heel flipping second week and nearly landing a dolphin heel after 3 months was just really weird how quickly I picked it up. love you're you make it we skate it videos keep them coming amazeballs
God I fell in love with the girl on 10:57
Lmao
it realy helps when u hold hands to begin with so u get the fealing of doing it
Personally I learned how to fall in first. Or as Aaron would put it (1:02) Die
Thats pretty insane but I guess its possible.
who was that chick
My mom
It's really helpful to see what Lance keeps doing wrong. I'll be trying this next week....
