I'm clearly weird as this video is so so therapeutic and could watch it over and over, I have 4 cars that I look after and valet weekly and can spend a whole day on them and especially love it when they are really mega dirty lol. so to get my hands on something like that caravan i'd be in my element. Great video, commentary and background music.
Great video specky. Something different, great transformation, soothing music, good narration. I tried to clean the roof of my Dad's van that I don't think had ever been really cleaned. It had the grown in mold into it. I had to use a pad that was abrasive to get rid of it. Only an old van, looked better with it removed.
When the world is growing green you buck the trend and go clean.... Great video, something different that shows the benefits of a pre wash; apc type product and the real use of a snowfoam.
Great video and a good transformation. If you do another caravan with this much greenery, might I suggest pretreating with Pool Biocide instead of AP Degreaser. Makes very easy work of removing all the mold, moss, mildew etc because that’s exactly what it’s for. Also, likely cheaper than the AP Degreaser. Keep on mate, great content!
I'm only 8 minutes into this...if this took 4 hours total. Absolutely great job! Thanks for sharing. Idk, the results you got i would almost say you hit perfection considering what you had to work with when you started...
It doesn’t seem like the foam did much, you are still having to use the pressure washer inches from the surface to get it clean. As long as it doesn’t damage the surface I think I probably maybe would’ve used some bleach. It does wonders on mildew.
The snowfoam softens and breaks down grime but needs the pressure washer to help push the grime off the surface. On areas that I didn't treat first, the grime didn't want to come off as easily.
It was pretty moldy and mossy and you did a good job cleaning it. I have a power washer and looking for houses, sidewalks or anything that needs to be treated for mold. I hope that inside is still in good condition.
Be very wary of using a pressure washer on any caravan or motorhome, especially an old one like this. You run a real risk of disturbing the sealant sealing the panels together which leads to water ingress and ultimately rot. I use Wet and Forget a couple of weeks prior to cleaning if it's really bad, what ever is left will wash off easily with ordinary car shampoo and a soft brush or microfiber mitt Pressure washer
I always thought that a snow foam non contact pre wash was just a bit gimmicky, having watched your vid, now I'm not so sure. Shall dig out my snow foam canon and get to work. Great vid, really enjoyed that, hope you do a filthy boat next, or maybe an old bus, thank you, 23 mins well spent 👌😁
Presoaking with an alkaline or basic leaning snow foam is optimal and can be observably, repeatedly demonstrated in AB testing. Water alone is a poor emulsifier, encapsulator, and a poor surfactant. pH Neutral presoaks are nonsensical marketing non-sequiturs. Just colored bubble juice that doesn’t degrease or eat grime. Strong presoaks and methodical pressure rinsing is the only way to prevent major swirls and scratches on your cars clear coat, particularly so on cars that aren’t ceramically coated or at the least waxed. Just sayin
Very satisfying Specky & that's why I clean & treat mine twice a year. good job, I bet the tee shirt looked good when you finished with all the back spray
Some satisfying rinsing down, are you going to go back for more sometime? Just a case of weighing up how aggressive it’s worth going I suppose to get any more improvement 🤔
My motorhome was just as bad after being laid up Covid -19 with all the green and believe me it was really hard work so after seeing you use snow foam that's next on my shopping list.
Hi there Specky, pressure washers definitely saves a lot of hard work but you should be more wary of using it too close to seals/joints and vents etc on a caravan as it can cause damage to the fridge or gas flues.
Podcast 17. Great podcast. I don’t think they need to be on camera. The way you are doing them are perfect. I do think a post on TH-cam when they come out would be good.
Great video and massive improvement, as a keen caravaner myself, if you intend to do more just be mindful of the vents and when power washing either take off or avoid because they are vents for the cooker and fridge, it could damage the wiring behind it that’s all!
Thanks Stefan, this was my first Caravan clean but I was mindful to keep the jet pointed down as much as possible to avoid spraying into the vents etc.
I was always taught that cleaning most things, that u Start at the TOP. Step ladders, then spray your snow foam, that then also runs down the side's, softening them and making it easier..!!!
Did you turn the pressure down on the washer ? I was always told if you can try and not use a pressure washer on a van rather a hose or turn the pressure right down . Im lucky ours doesnt get this back and Ive a shed to stand on to do higher parts and roof with . A good reason to own a cleaning brush attachment for these roofs and also for use on conservatories etc . Generally with my fathers I will add a cleaner type polish then apply a ceramic paste wax on top to stop the grime sitting as deep on the fibreglass . You often find you get runs down the sides from the window seals that can be a swine to remove
No, I had to use judgement from trial and error to get the right angle for the spray and the fan for the nozzle. We're not trying for perfection as it just isn't obtainable on this old thing.
@@SpeckyMcSporran cheers , was a question aimed at others thinking of doing this as the seals arent great on older vans and before you know it the insides soaked too . Too much pressure isnt good for em but as you say using judgement and knowledge will go a long way to stop that happening

Always basic 110 bar pressure washer will take long time compared with professional pressure washer. It takes 3 days to clean 1200 sqrft roof of my home almost 4hrs a day with karcher k2. Anyway nice job. 👍
No worries. Starting at the bottom allows the chemicals above to continue to dwell on the surface so they can soften and break down the grime for longer. Starting at the top would mean water would run down and rinse off the chemicals, shortening the dwell time. Hope this helps.

Next time mix half bleach half water in your pump sprayer with a little bit of laundry soap. Spray let sit for a few minutes and I you could probably wash off with a garden hose instead of risking seal damage with the pressure washer
