I'm a highschool student and i'm planning to get my first bike. After watching a lot of videos and reviews especially this one. I'm certain that im getting this as my first, thanks a lot you helped.
Really good review dude. I am planning on getting one for myself, although I'm gonna use it for daily commute in the cities, which I think is the deal breaker, but still love the bike. So I might be going for it.
San R how can u compare a ducati clutch to this sort of a single cylinder bike.....when it comes comes to bikes in 200 cc series.....duke is really one of the best.....I wonder how the ktm 250 will do in the market....its taller then the duke 200...so u might not like it
Right now, i want a duke 200 and a couple of weeks going around on that road. It's -18°C, blowing snow, my fazer is hybernating in a shed and I'm getting depressed. Thanks for the ride
I am from India. I ride this to work everyday. 1 year and 6 months = 26000 Kms. I agree with you on the MRFs giving way in rain which means I have fallen from it about 6 times now... :( I have a question...do you hear a strange grinding noise coming from around the engine around 7500 rpm? mine has been doing it since the first day. The service centre guys could not figure out what it is....hoping if someone else with the same problem knows how to fix it. good vid mate...ride safe -Satyam
Hi, the seating position of the bike, does your back hurt when riding for long periods? How about the distance of the handle bars, does it bring to much vibration or load to your shoulders for long periods, especially when your touring? Have you see the Kawasaki z250 sl? I'm choosing between the 2.
hey man. i was wondering about the heating problems in this bike is that true? cause im planning to have one myself. and how about the engine break-in whats the proper way of doing it? thanks in advance draquine you're going to help me big time in my decision bro. ride safe.
boss kumusta po... tanong ko lang po sana yung mileage nya...magastos ba masyado sa gasolina? pinag iisipan ko kasi yung rouser 200 ns or ito... please reply..salamat po
nice review, I've got a 600 mile '15 reg, loving it, I'd disagree about doesnt like low speeds, if you ride it gently it purrs reaaly gentle like, it works in all aspects for me, when you wind it up it goes but if you crack it open it screams and flies and the front wheel likes going air time lol..I'm fitting a dyna boost chip in spring and looking at a black widow tail system and a k+n
Hi Dude. Great video. I'm thinking in acquire a KTM Duke 125cc. But I'm going to ride lots of times with my girlfriend. Is it good to ride the bike with two people. Is it comfortable? Is it good? And I'm speaking about trips of 300km or 400km so that's abou 480 miles or 640 miles? Thanks bro
+Ernani Junior Gomes Hey Ernani, if you will be riding with a pillion most of the time, then this will be a bit uncomfortable but not unbearable. Also, it is a 125cc so it might struggle a bit with 2 people. I have the 200cc and it already struggles a bit, but more capable than most bikes on our street. I'd say this is one of the best Learner bike(125cc) that you can get around. Best to sit on the bike, with your girlfriend as pillion and if you don't find the seat too hard, and not cramp then you should be good. Ride safe. Cheers.
@satyamd Hey satyamd I also own a duke 200 abs, i have the same problem with you at beginning , so the "ringging" sound is come from your Fuel Lock cap, the stock one is giving that noise at around 5000-7500 RPM, the problem can be solved by replace the stock one with other Fuel lock cap ( i mean different type not the same type at stock one like the one i bought from KTM power part . Hope this will help you
thanks for the review. just want to ask about the ride comfort. does it have a smoother ride compared to the other bikes or medyo stiif yung ride? also i heard you talked about the seat, what about the back seat? kasi if im planning to go on a long ride syempre kasama ko girlfriend ko... need your comment on this. im planning to get the bike next week. hehehe thanks in advance...
+Nicky Nelson Escasenas it is not comfortable not unbearable so it is ok to do touring. If you can get the new 2017 duke 390 those offer better seats and more power for touring with a pillion.
hey draquine. i really like your videos. as a matter of fact i bought myself a Duke 200 after watching some reviews on the net, but what really convinced to get the Duke 200 is your ownership review video. im not used to riding motorcycles where i cannot put a foot flat on the ground but you said you are 5'2" tall and you ride a Duke so i said to myself, "if he can ride it, so do i." anyway, can you share some tips on how to ride tall bikes? iam also 5'2" in height. i find i hard riding when only you toe is touching the ground. thanks!
Hi Bjorn, glad to know that my video helped in making the decision to get a Duke. This was my first bike so to be safe, I needed to touch the ground with at least both my toes for confidence and control so I had it lowered. So change the preload in the rear to the lowest. Ask the dealer to lower the front shocks, they do this by lowering the point where they are connected. As you can see in my video, there are some black color exposed on my shocks. And lastly, take out the foam in your seat and replace with with a new thinner foam and new leather to cover. I do not recommend shaving off the original once foam because when you get use to the bike, you can put the original seats back on. Sure it will be uncomfortable but that will give you more contact with the ground for confidence. Now since I am comfortable with the bike, I have it back to stock settings. Safe riding and enjoy.
draquine thanks draquine! i really wanted to keep the stock height of the bike but if it needs to be adjusted i have no choice but to do it. i have no problem riding the Duke on highways, driving it on a busy city street is what concerns me. thanks again! keep on making some great videos.
Hi i'm a huge fan of this bike. i want to get duke 200 by november this year. as you mention on your video, you're just 5"3 ft tall person. i would like ask how did you lowered your duke 200? i'm just 5'6 ft tall person. thank you.
Since this was my first bike I needed the confidence to handle it so I need to reach the ground as much as I could. After riding for a long time, I am now confident and able to handle it properly so I have it back to stock setting now. At 5'6" you will have no issue reaching it.
draquine thank you for the prompt response, how's the bike when it comes to a long ride? How's the heating issue?. As i've seen your video when it comes to the break engine. It comes so smooth. Can you elaborate the features? Your response to this is highly appreciated.
The heat is normal as expected from a high performing quick revving engine. This is nothing compared to big bikes. Long rides not an issue since you are seating in an upright position.
@Draquine Cool! I own one and happy with it. Which part of the world this road is in..seems like a place very near to my native place but road traffic rule is different :-) best wishes
Is it easy to ride slow on that bike? How's the throttle feel? I ask because my gf is searching a bike to start with. I myself ride a 600cc bike which I do not recommend for a new riders mainly because not-so-forgiving throttle response.
hey bro. I somehow have the feeling that you're a Filipino and you're in the Phils. I just want to know how much does this bike cost here in phils, if and only if you live here? anyways wherever you are you can always answer the question with your own currency
Perfect review ever , u just demonstrated in a top notch, perfectly showed the purpose of duke 200 👌👍 even showroom guys don’t explain about these important things 🤪. Great 👍
The bike's handle bars are wider than the small scooters so you need to be careful splitting. You will not be able to squeeze into some tight areas. The bike is light and nimble, but still heavier than the small scooters but you'll get used to it. Manila traffic, yes it can be done. But I prefer to have this for leisure ride weekends and my car for weekday bumper to bumper traffic.
Hey Draquine where did u mount your camera on? i tried to mount it on the tank but there is too much vibration and shaking but on yout video it look like you put on your belt right?
Yeah i have a chest strap on my go pro. My earlier videos i have a suction cup on my tank. Really vibby. One of the best i guess is on the handle bar and the helmet
+OJay BLG You got the perfect size for the bike bro. Although you should thing about the 390cc version because of your weight. But still, I highly advise you to seat on the bike just to be sure about it 😉. Good Luck. Ride Safe
+Rishi Kumar It's GIVI. But a bit expensive, around 150USD because it comes with the windscreen and bracket separate from GIVI. It's ok, but doesn't do much protection from the wind. There are other cheaper alternatives in the market that cost around 10USD.
Jab Barcenas like any sports bike, it heats but its radiator works very nicely. Dont push the bike over 7000 rpm for the first 1000 kms. And use a good quality engine oil.
Yes... I would say u ride it nicely till u finish ur second oil change. But a good way to run in is to sometimes go to higher speeds... Twice or thrice it wont be any problem. Just dont hit the rev limiter too often. The bike is made by bajaj whose engineers say to use the engine till max of 7500 rpm for the first 1000 kms. Get an oil change then. U can test the top speeds after that.
+emmanuel terz Hmmm don't really know. I always have some "extra services" on my bike when I take it to the dealer so I get charge around 10K+ PHP. Usual change oil I do myself so I just pay for the oil and filter.
No issues. KTM Engines are the best. Even though they are not assembled in Austria(I think), the engineering is still Austrian and top notch. You can rev the hell out of it for several hours and it will still ask for more. Just make sure you do proper break in procedure.
He actually said “with a baby!”. Meant that he saw a baby riding a motorcycle thats why he said shit to the parents and definitely not to small bikes. 😂
Good for you. I only ride on weekends and only for a few kms each time. The first 1000kms were a pain because i could not let her rip yet. Took me well over 2 months to reach it. Enjoy.
draquine hey i know this is a long time ago. But im planning to buy this bike thi summer. How did you get that fuel economy? What kind of riding condition?
I was on xacaion in soutyern Germany and rentet a 200Duke for a week to come around. great bike, lots of fun.
Got one my self vhen I got home.

Thanks for this awesome video! you put us all in the seat of your bike. nice video resolution and great bike sound! thanks bro!
+Rommel Cruz Yeah, this is the best view but the windscreen gets in the way. But it's needed. Will do this mount again soon.

Man, I congratulate you for doing a great review. Can you tell me what province is it?
Dude 6000 kms in two years? I guess it isn't your daily commuter, great feedback about the bike by the way.
Cheers.
Tq for your review. Very helpful.
draquine is that a MRA windscreen ? How good is it ? Does it deflect wind over the head ?
Great analysis, man! Also your speech is entertaining. Thanks for the video!
That is a grat review, does the engine in that bike ever broke?I'm planing to get one,so I'm asking. :)

hey I had seen dat k&n sticker on your bike do k&n really makes any difference in speed and mileage...if yes plzz let me knw d difference
RPM 2 is in 10500, RPM 1 is around 8000? or please tell us, thank you

+Roland Tiiroja yes it is easy. No issue on stop and go traffic. Power is not abrupt so you can easily modulate it.
Thank you!.
why does it overheat .ktm 200 keep showing high tempreture
Is it worth buying in 2020?
There is a second hand ktm duke for sale in marketplace around 3,700 mileage yr model 2015 bought in 2016
Yes, still a good bike even if you get the 1st gen. But you should get the abs version. It is a huge safety net. If you can afford the 2nd gen better.
@@draquine thank you so much! Nice review

its a leisure bike but duke200 are really made to be a daily commuter bike. its a shame if you dont use it as your everyday way of transportation.
Perfect review ever , u just demonstrated in a top notch, perfectly showed the purpose of duke 200 👌👍 even showroom guys don’t explain about these important things 🤪.
Great 👍
Bro, gaano ba talaga ka mahal ang maintenance ng ktm duke 200 sa pinas?
how is the duke for maneuvering traffic and splitting lanes (think of rush hour traffic in Manila)? good idea or bad idea?

+draquine Would you recommend me to buy this bike ? (My height is 180cm and weight is 86kg)

+draquine i see that ur duke has a windshield. May i know what brand? Also how much does it help. Im trying to find one but ktm guys dont have one
