Idea: hide tiny little pokemon around the arena in places where they make sense, but are not extremely noticeable, like the changes by the discard pile. Or some pokemon in the stands with the people! You could even make a model for Latias's human form!

I think that the concept is really well done. The only thing that I would be worried about is the prize cards. Cause if they are sticking out you could just look at the back of them. You’d have to have an honour system or just make the stands behind them high enough that you can’t see them from behind.
I agree with this. I think the only thing that could help that is if they're at an angle so, even if you happen to get up from he table you won't see them
Yea, I was just about to comment this. Jazza should make sure that the entirety of the card faces are hidden. That's pretty crucial, but I think a small adjustment to the mock-up sketch should fix that.

@@Cburkh23 i always report comments like that for spam, not that that has done any good, TH-cam really needs to crack down on fucking scams like this, i am sick of seeing them all over the place on my comments.
Just a thing to have in mind, sometimes the number of benched Pokémon increases so having a specific borderline can be a trouble. Also I think you’ll need space for vstar or similar cards. Amazing back of the card btw you really nailed it
I like the charizard idea, but doing enemies would also be fun, like pikachu on one side and mimikyu (sp?) on the other.
My daughter always sets up her battle mat to mirror my setup instead of doing the same pattern on her side. I think it's cute. Doesn't really matter as long as the cards are still used the same way.

Another idea: A tiny coin-toss-station within the arena. You could make it next to the battle station in the middle, opposite of the "Poke Center" discard pile. A little funtion with an installd coin that you could flip by just give it a good nudge or even use a little lever or button to make it swirrl. So you don't have the coin flying around everywhere and accedently destroying things.

As a Pokémon TCG player I would say that there are a few layout things that are specific to the POkémon TCG - deck goes above discard pile is one of them. Also dont forget a space in between the 2 sides for Stadium Cards!
As for the front of the card, I think that you should do your favourite Pokémon!

I think the area is laid out very well!! I love the Chansey discard pile and the stands with people! However, my concern is the prize cards aren't at an angle, so if you or your opponent got up, you could see what the cards are. I think putting them at maybe a 20-30° angle would be good. Also, would there be separate discard piles? That's also important
Edit: idk if these cards are still in play, so correct me if I'm wrong. But if they are, what about a space for the stadium cards? Or even a space to put that V-Star token/card indicating you've used it this game?
It would be cool if you could make the front card shiny. Holographic or iridescent foil or paint or something like that.

I love the design. I think it’s a great idea and is going to look amazing. I think for the cover it would be really cool if you did something shiny like a mew two and make it sparkly. Make it like a holographic card

Also I think something iconic like the gen 1 starters or pikachu would work well for the giant card. If it's going to be the central piece for the entire board, it should be something that represents all of pokemon. You know, something more central that can always fit into the background of the battle, regardless of what kind of cards people are playing with or what generation pokemon cards everyone is using.
ALSO I think you should do gen 1 mewtwo for the card
a cool idea is to have a trainer gallery inspired card of smeargle and you painting somthing

For something this epic, the original charizard is a must
But Charizard has been so overdone, as with many of the original starters. And while the design is cool, there's not a lot of color contrast. I think a lesser used but equally cool pokemon would work better. Meliotic and Shiny Gyrados come to mind first but I also think Tinkaton could be a cool one to do

Looks great, and the editing and pacing was excellent in this video, which I’m happy to see.
Since you’ll be putting in a lot of effort into making this project, I’d actually recommend putting down a few layers of gesso on the wood panel first and sanding it smooth so you won’t get that pop of wood grain that can be seen with a raking light. These raised areas will also be the first to wear off when it makes contact with the table. So, I’d consider this work a proof of concept and make a new one with these suggestions in mind.
I don’t even play Pokémon and I can’t wait to see what you’ll do with this.
you should do a custom trainer as yourself , and even better make it like a full art trainer card
I think the front side should be a picture of the TTT team. Either each of them as a trainer( with their favourite pokemons), or even themselves as pokemons.
Imagine doing 2 pokemon decks with cards this big
Now imagine trying to shuffle them
Now imagine the pain of playing 3-4 pokeball cards in the same turn
I think that an old pikachu would be perfect knowing that pikachu is the pokemon everyone knows along with it being a staple in the pokemon franchise. It would mean a lot to me, i'm an aspiring artist and you are my biggest influence. I bought your old pro series art box and have used it for years. I liked the video like always and have been a subscriber for a long time. If you do take my recommendation I will be that happiest person in the planet and it would make my whole month. Thanks Jazza.

@Jazza, you should make the stage have hologram Pokémon. There are pyramid-like objects that make videos look like holographic projections in real life. It would be super cool if the arena projected the Pokémon in holograms with animations and everything. There are ways to achieve this. :) Just a really cool suggestion.

Definitely needs some awesome LED lights in the Arena, like stadium lights and glowing under the stage. Like chess after each player goes you hit something (instead of a timer like chess) and it lights up your opponents side, making it more intense lol. Or something like that, and i think Charizard is DEFINITELY the way to go. This makes 11 year old me excited lol

You are seriously talented. I think hiding the easter eggs around the arena is a great idea.
I reckon set it up as an actual ELITE 4/CHAMPION battle arena, so you really feel like you're battling. A card might look cool but i could see it being kinda cluttered or busy, but if you have an arena, say, like the ones from Black/White(which look phenomenal) it could really paint the picture of an epic fight
PLEASE mass produce these so we all can have one. Would pay big $$ for something like this.

YOU SHOULD MAKE IT GHIMIGHOUL OR SABLEYE!!! Both are pokemon that collect shiny things like gold or gems, and one literally sits in a chest. It would be really thematic with the suitcase!

Cool one Jazza. Have you tried enamel pins? There's lots of pokemon sets that come with them. I think starting small with a jazza pin, then culminating in a giant Pokémon enamal pin. World's largest perhaps? 😁

I think the idea of doing pikachu for your son is sweet (also iconic since pikachu is the mascot). Personally, my fav pokemon is hydreigon. Hydreigon has a badass dragon design that you could do something awesome custom work with it. That, or maybe a legendary pokemon

*clap* *clap* good job on using ultimate guard deck boxes and dragon shield sleeves because there both fantastic products and a very good way of protecting your cards. a couple other things to touch on include making at least the discard, draw pile and bench a soft slide resistant material because when cards are sleeved they have a tendency to start sliding around. A very slight thing to think about is the lost zone which gets re-immersed into the card game around once a year in a new set, this can probably just be set to the side because the lost zone is a discard pile that can not be retaken from using trainers abilities etc. additionally I do feel as if one of the stands of people should pull out and be a dice and counters tray. as far as actual design of the play area goes you have to keep in mind that your discard and deck have to be accessible to both plays along with a easily seen bench. i think you should put something classic but not to classic because thats boring I would recommend dark gyrados or dark charizard because you are still going to get a really good reaction from fans of your videos and fans of pokémon. im sorry for my ranting but im just so exited to have someone as big as Jazza actually lay the game because i've been playing the game for 8 years and it is definitely a small community where i live but a strong with that. Again i can not stress this enough but i love what your doing with pokémon and i hope you inspire a bunch of people to get into it.
Front of the card: definitely would LOVE the original chubby pikachu nostalgia!
Idea for the stadium: I'd love to see some of the characters of the pokemon universe in the stands, it'd really bring the whole project together. I.e. Jesse, James, Ash, Misty etc.
Especially since Ash and Pikachu are retiring from the anime after 25 long years! It would be an amazing addition to make the people in the stadiums the characters we've all grown to love over the years cheering you on.

I think you should choose one of the pokemon you made to put on giant card thing, OR you could make a BRAND NEW NEVER SEEN BEFORE POKEMON for the card!! (I think it would be really cool if you did a viewer poll and we could vote on the type, name, powers ect. if you want to make it more interactive, or you could come up with it all on your own!)
