@@Undergroundtornado Well I didn't see him play in other clips but from just this one clip he does a bunch of things wrong, if the person with the most game knowledge clicks his spells instead of having hotkeys, and uses his max level blizzard instead of the low level one to slow, wasting all his mana and doesn't help when he can 100% with polimorph/ice nova/lvl1 blizzard. @@randomfeg4141 I'm not a WoW player, but it seemed like there were missed opportunities and bad calls from at least half that group. I'm assuming these are all veteran players and large WoW streamers who are probably coasting through on a lot of hype and overconfidence. As an EQ2 player, aside from why they overpulled and aggroed a boss, my big question is why didn't the tank have aggro on that mess? Does WoW not have aoe taunts or snap aggro skills? In EQ2, the tank could have used their aggro abilities to pull everything onto them while the Run call was made, then put up an evasion or stonewall skill to block or mitigate the incoming damage while they ran behind everyone else. In the worst case in that scenario, the tank would be the only one who goes down -- but, again, this is from an EverQuest 2 gameplay perspective, as I've never really played Wow.
If you take Yamato out of this situation, it would have ended differently. He was a total jerk toward Pirate and was accusing him at every chance. He was yelling at him in the dungeon, the first words out of his mouth out of the dungeon were accusing Pirate, he continued to blame Pirate even after Pirate pointed out multiple very big mistakes, in the conversation with Tyler the first thing he says is an acusation against Pirate. Tyler even tells Yamato right after the call that he can't talk like that to other people. If Yamato wasn't there agressivly pushing at Pirate, he probably would have admitted to running earlier and this would have been over with. It is very clear from his tone and his face that he was done with putting up with Yamato's bs and had no interest in trying to play the blame game with him

He said "what do you want me to do," which means he thought in that moment that nothing he could have done in that situation would have changed it (regardless if it is true or not), but he never said he was perfect. Secondly, Yamato wasn't pointing things out "fairly." Once out of the dungeon, the *only* thing that Yamato talks about is how Pirate ran. He ignored all of the major issues that Pirate brought up and solely focused on Pirate. Thirdly, yeah Pirate didn't behave well when Yamato started talking during the call with Tyler. Do you want to know why? Because literally the very first thing that Yamato says is an accusation pushing blame on Pirate. Put yourself in his shoes. He is to blame for what, maybe 5%? Of that situation, but the guy who holds a large amount of the blame and literally didn't help the team at all during the retreat wants you to "take accountability." Yeah, I would dismiss anything he says too. If it was the healer that was upset, then yeah I would understand and apologize to them. But the guy who made horrible calls and did nothing to help? No shit Pirate was defensive and uncooperative. So I will repeat my previous statement: Remove Yamato from this situation, and this would have ended differently.
All this drama was ridiculous. You sign up for Hardcore, you are not 100% guaranteed to survive. If you cant accept the results don't sign up. All you can do is control your character and how you do your job, you cannot control how others will react.

when you call to run, you run together and use your cooldowns to help your team get out, not literally just run and abandon everything, in that case every tank ever would just perma die everytime you randomly leash more mobs, if pirate knew how (had actual hands for the game) they most likely all survive. The issue is he is yapping about 20 years of wow experience flexing on stream etc, he did 0 coms, didnt help, ratted out to preserve himself, in the court of law he is right yea but it puts his character in perspective and he showed his "colors"
if they didnt run you could nova the dogs and legit just oneshot the dogs with nova cone of cold shatter combo reset with cold snap and repeat if you do decide to run you can start by novaing and kite with rank 1 blizzard slow and cold snap for double nova no reason to waste a ton of mana spam refreshing ice barrier as you are always safe with blinks anyways. To add to this the pull they did is not even that scary and is doable without sweating too much even with mediocore play it would only be sweaty with extra pack from the bodypull on the way out seeing pirate just instantly book it when he was talking so much about how to save situations earlier is and then refusing to take any blame when shit hits the fan and he insta dips is just hilarious
you dont CoC the nova for shatter in this case, it would break the root and it could give you threat. you nova, then blink out and save CoC for the slow once the mobs are freed.
@@mendedwings6087 depends on if you run or not and you can extend the slow and just kite since you have so much mana you can double shatter if you want since you have the luxury of doing so with 2x 70% slow+ kiting with strafe and rank 1 blizz slow also threath doesnt matter on mobs you can perma kite anyways its actually good you have threat if anything also the dogs will basicly insta die anyways if you do so since they are none elites and 2x aoe shatter is really good in this scenario and then you sheep the brute and at that point if your team dies to air idk what to tell you

If he had just turned around to cast rank 1 Blizzard on the pack of mobs killing his party, it would've gone a long way in terms of optics, and maybe someone would've survived. I just don't know if he deliberately meant to forsake his party, or if he panicked and didn't know what to do to help them.
Mages have so much utility to save groups. Frost Nova, Rank 1 Blizzard and Sheep other tech you can do to stall the mobs. piRAT has preached so much how good he is and how he could save groups but this happens. Even got demoted from sweat to casual to gkick amazing speed run if you ask me.

This whole situation was so dumb and shouldn't have made it past the day, but because Reddit has a braindead hate boner for him due to him proving them wrong on a lot of topics, everyone decided to farm the top threads. I'll bring a more real world example to this because at 200+ hours on a character, there's a bit more skin in the game with losing that: If we're at war and someone calls for a retreat and then I hear someone (unknown who because now I'm retreating) shouting "hold" or "charge", I'm ignoring that shit, and most trained soldiers would, because whoever is rescinding the retreat command is either not in command of the unit, or if they are, have a major case of 'fog of war' and are now unsure of what decision to make, thus making a retreat the most reasonable option anyway. Uncertainty kills. Make a decision and stand by it. Reassessing RATIONALLY is fine, but shouting "run" and then 5 seconds later shouting "charge" only causes confusion in your ranks. So for this situation, they said "run", Pirate ran, then they said "why don't you do x, y, z?", and then Pirate gave the correct response of "because you said "run." Pirate did nothing wrong. The fuck up is whoever called for the retreat and then was unsure of their call. Soda's wrong to gkick Pirate, but I always thought Soda was a bit of an immature child anyway, and he's only confirming that for me with that action.
To give full context for HC classic WoW for why this is so bad there are 3 main layers to this the behavior of pirate before the pull, the pull itself and his behavior after the deaths, 1. He previously touted himself to be a really good mage as well as putdown his own guildies and event said some of their plays made him physically ill. 2. On the pull he did not start the bad pull, the warrior tanked him in a bad spot that led to the druid ass pulling the extra pack and leading to the boss patrol. The call to run was bad by the rogue since the 2 extra pulls was easily manageable since 1 ogre was almost dead, the wolves have very little hp and the brute can be sheeped. For guild runs the call to run doesn't mean every man for himself or there would be no tanks at 60 since they will die first since they have threat. Run means try to walk out of the instance or reset spot together. a mediocre mage could have easily saved everyone with no risk to the mage with a simple cone of cold, blizz, then frost nova all down ranked. So even without the mana gem and robe he could of casted those spells. 3. Pirate then proceeded to shit talk during the pull and after and essentially never stepped up to the plate to take any responsibility while putting his guildies down. A mages job in wow classic is to help recover from mistakes especially if they are from other players, it's the expectation since they can do so with minimal risk to themselves. Then threatning content creators who objectively criticized how bad he played was just a bridge too far.
Alright, i've watched the vid, caught up on the drama etc and here's my take from a Mage main with nearly 1200 days /played on my Retail account (yes, that's just my Mage) as well as a lot of playtime from recent Classic era runs including my Mage (now in Cata though I stopped playing Cata months ago, at another 83 days). Just as a disclaimer I have also leveled a couple characters to 60 in Hardcore, my Priest who I healed every dungeon with and never once let someone die, and my Warrior (mostly playing solo but I did tank some dungeons on the way as well). First off, you may consider Asmon a "pro" at the game mostly on the fact he was one of the biggest WoW streamers (if not the biggest) for a long time. He never was or has ever been that good at the game, so his opinions on actual gameplay vary wildly. Pirate 1000% roached out. Just to comment on what you said near the end of the video, not only did Pirate *not* take any percentile risk to save his team mates, he actually clearly was happy to sacrafice everyone there to save his own skin. Sara on the other hand sacraficed herself for the warrior, we see both polar opposites in one group. Pirate at the "run" shout did just that, he tucked tail and fled. The ONLY thing he did was channel Blizzard for literally a second. He did have plenty of mana at the time it was called to run and his first instincts were to spend a lot of mana on putting up a completely pointless Ice Barrier and Blinking out of dodge. He had nearly 3,000 mana, spent 480 of that on Ice Barrier and a I can't be sure but before that he channels a rank 5 Blizzard for a second. Regardless, he had a Mana Ruby ready (restores 1,000 to 1,200 mana). This alone was enough to help the group out. He cried about being out of mana (despite casting Ice Barrier and several Blinks, not using his Mana Ruby). The most INFURIATING part of this for me was the fact that he was using a higher ranked Blizzard spell. WHY? He should know in this situation that you have rank 1 Blizzard ready to go, because you only care about the slowing effect, not the damage, and the slow effect is just as useful. TLDR; Pirate didn't even TRY, there was no steady stream of rank 1 Blizzard to cover the retreat, no rank 1 Frostbolts for those mobs that were not part of the group that could be slowed by the Blizzards radius. There was not a single Polymorph, Frost Nova or Cone of Cold. If we're grading Pirate here, he gets a ZERO. If I was in this situation, i'm saving the group, i'm laying down Blizzard, throwing out a Poly etc. Looking again at this clip all Pirate had to do before things even got out of hand was to move forward a few yards and hit Frost Nova.. this would have given the group time to get to a safer distance, meanwhile you just blanket the oncoming pack with Blizzard and then make your retreat by Blinking away. Very easy. Pirate is not as good as he says he is, and he sure as hell doesn't care about his group.
If you tell me to run regardless of skill level or resources I’m running, there screaming at the healer to heal them while they attempted to salvage a situation that was doomed from the start got the healer killed, the trying to salvage is what got ppl killed and there mad at pirate because he didn’t risk his character for a bad situation…
The call was to run and NOTHING was said prior other than the Rogue giving Pirate attitude about running when RUN was called.... THEY MADE NO CALL for Pirate to come back within this time.... He did a blizzard for them to run away. They stayed, reversed the call, went wrong direction, aggroed more mobs... (down ramp aggroing more...)... Then suddently, instead of going for door, they jump around? The priest go wrong direction, the druid jump around until he die... only the rogue when for the door... and the mage. Someone please make a video where the druid jump around until he die, with the song "jump around"...
I think a lot of context is missed that he doesnt really know these people in the group. Onlyfangs isnt a normal guild where most people are friends. Its a glorified high school. They werent friends running a dungeon together. Im pretty sure you are only allowed to play with guild members. Also this was their second failed run that day. In which the same thing happened but the first time no one died.
49:30 Asmongold knows shit about wow. hes always been bad at the game. every single one of his achievements is gifted by the community or race to world first raiders. even if he had glad back in the day, it says nothing about him being good. getting glad was just a time investment, had nothing to do with skill. he never seriously played m+ and hasnt really been playing wow for many years now. for context: Asmons main content was farming mounts and cosmetics from past expansions. you legit need no gear or skill for that.
I mean asmons original wow content, before he was a streamer or content creator was a mix of guide content (what got him so big so early on) and soloing hard content in the old expansions. When he went to streaming he started with like 300 viewers due to his youtube grind and eventually he started farming mounts and such. He was a top raider and solo player back in the days of old, saying he wasnt is blatantly lying. Now could he do it now? Noone knows, hes bored and tired of the game, id say he probably cant, but his memory is enough to say his takes are enough to listen to and cross examine for opinions.
Sara 100% was out and safe until Yama's dumb ass called for her to turn around and heal to pull threat onto her; resulting in her death. He also started screaming "this is salvageable" right as he is telling the healer to off themselves. Nah this 100% is his fault, you don't blame the guy who didn't get you out of a situation; you blame the guy who put you into it. They where also under orders to NOT DIE ROACH OUT HEARTH OUT PLAY FOR YOURSELF these where all commands given during a guild meeting prior; pirate did exactly as he was told. Only problem is these babies get all butthurt when someone actually does it.
the point still stands that mage can create the most impact from the highest positions of safety regardless. if you watch high level groups, even as they're making the "it's cooked, gtfo call" mages are still casting blizzards/novas/cocs, and yknow... using their mana gems.

Theres nothing emotional about the argument. The dude is a mage going into a hard dungeon its his JOB to CC as much as possible when packs are being pulled, or when stuff goes left. Theres literally only ONE job for a mage and thats to CC, hes not a healer, DPS, or tank. Hes a CC spammer and he couldnt even do that. Its pretty basic. People are more mad at him for hearing him say he did nothing wrong while simultaneously saying hes a god at the game while not taking accountability.
Have you ever played retail? Its not great at the moment from what ive heard, but from time to time it gets super fun. Im a wow playing coming to BDO on a break and your content has helped me learn a lot. Would love to see you play some wow and since you were talking about dungeons I just have to mention Mythic Plus. Pushing M+ was some of the most fun ive ever had in my life. Also, right now it seems like wow viewers suck because they arent actually wow viewers. They are Onlyfangs viewers and most havent even hit max level on any of the versions.
I gotta disagree with Blue on the fact that everyone ran, they definitely were kiting the mobs, but running away and kiting is not the same thing. Also, no, not everyone understands, if I was in M+ and the call was given to run I would run without looking back, that what it means, you can say "let's back up" or "let's kite" if you want to kill the mobs, but you don't say run. Moreover, in my personal opinion it's a little disingenuous to put a label of "good" or "bad" on a person over a video game. I don't like pirate very much tbh but the call was given, so Pirate has nothing to be blamed for in regards to the game. And if someone is dumb enough to disagree, think of it this way, imagine a wipe was called on a boss, and when you go and die, the caller changes their mind says "no it's salvageable" and proceeds to attack you for the fact that you died.

You have no clue what you're talking about. Run includes helping your team anyway, but he also called him back and was ignored. Melee characters can't just run, they have to face the mobs or they get a dazed debuff. He literally abandoned them instead of kiting, his literal job in the group. All he had to do was frost nova and rank 1 blizzard instead of spamming escape moves with no threat to him, so he could lie about having no mana.

On calssic some mage can solo dungeons so yeah it could have helped them survive both, maybe not the tank tho depends on the rush speed of him and amount of over the melee ennemies but yeah avoidable situation
when the call is made to run, you are supposed to run as a group peeling, ccing and healing. he could downrank frostbolt to slow, use nova, use poly and blizzard. pirate is a rat and not surprising honestly and to make things worse he tried to ego. Again, not surprising.
Yikes take. 100% of the pull was the tanks fault but like 80% of the reason they ended up dying was Pirate not doing his job. The druid accidentally pulled while stunning everything they were already running from, Pirate left them for dead with the highest impact and least risky class in the game 😂. The boss is meant to be tanked and killed, if he CC'd the ads then the boss wouldn't have mattered. He lied when he said he was out of mana; dude literally moused over the mana gem next to robes that also give mana. Run ≠ roach, you should still help your teammates. If he's fine because the call was run, then hes still wrong for ignoring the call to come back and help. You cant pick and choose if thats the excuse (Which he did) He didn't get "hate raided." People organically flocked to his stream to meme on him, and he was banning people for typing shit like "mana gem". Hiding behind the minority of mentally ill losers sending death threats to deflect from the actual criticism is cringe. All these deflections instead of a simple my bad. Yeah, calling everyone in the guild Soda created "monsters" is definitely a slight. Asmon is not a wow expert, unless you wanna know about mounts, especially compared to the actual rank 1 players in the guild disagreeing with him. I get you don't know WoW and neither do I, never played the game, but i've watched enough takes to know that Asmongold is either completely trolling everyone and ragebaiting or he knows nothing about the game so taking context using Asmon mainly is probably wrong - maybe rewatch takes from others too, might give more info to others - Amphy is probably the best to watch since he is top mage player on the game 1 of 2 scenarios on Asmon's take if he genuinely believes it and isnt ragebaiting. 1) he knows more than 100 other different veteran WoW content players - so either he has played for 20 years and is biased towards helping piratesoftware and is lying on the actual take or he has played for 20 years and doesn't know the game at all. 2) everybody else is wrong (sodapoppin, shroud, summit1g, amphy ect the list goes on) about 50+ veteran players. Which of these sounds more likely. Also I'm not one to say that everyone else played perfect (except the healer who died like a hero - respect) but yeah pirate here could have saved everyone if he was a better player. I think the thing that pisses people off is that he said he couldn't have saved anyone and that it isnt an issue of skill but based on the resources he had available - even though he had enough mana and its proven this way. Asmon is awful at the game and Blue is new to the game. You can't really expect them to have a full understanding of what is happening. But Blue is correct that the problem was never really about the gameplay, it was Pirates patronizing responses that people HATED.

Hi Blue, Love your content. Everyone will have a opinion on this. The pull was bad, the druid pulled extra mobs, The call was to run not fight a tactical retreat. They all messed up and 2 characters died. QQ. Regardless of what class I was playing I would have bugged out. Lets remember it is just a game and death threats/harassment directed at pirate and his staff is unacceptable.
I think because he is the main enchanter his first prio is to the guild not to some clown group and they should have been happy to give there lives to keep him alive because of such. Otherwise they just selfish and not thinking about the guild. This whole thing really painted onlyfangs in a bad light for me. I thought it was a neat concept but after pilav and now this they just seem like a bunch of soy clowns.
Never played WoW, but in EQ2 when you get an overpull or a train and the call to run is made, you don't stand around and see what happens -- you book it for the zoneline and hope everyone makes it out. I'm not sure why there's so much drama with this... was he supposed to just ignore the call to run so he could stand and die with his homies, so three (or more) of them can start from scratch instead of just two? Aside from it being a buncha streamers in Hardcore mode, this is a wipe situation that most MMO players have seen countless times, and it's no big deal.

If this had been a random pickup group in EQ2 or Throne (or any other MMO I've played), I'd prolly have bailed on it without hesitation, too. I mean, there's a tank who's got zero aggro control (was he the puller as well? cause whoever is pulling should be aware of the groups hp/mana as well as the mob placement, to prevent exactly the mess they got into)... I'm gonna assume the dps in the group had zero f's about anything but their parse, and weren't waiting for the tank to grab aggro (cause none of em ever did when I was tanking in EQ2 haha!)... a healer who stops and stands in the middle of mobs (that have no aggro control because the group is running) to heal (thus generating the aggro that immediately gets her killed)... a druid(?) who is proximity aggroing additional groups of mobs (which then kill him before turning on the rest of the group)... a CC mage who isn't doing any CC (or even trying to) and seems to be intentionally unaware of his mana restorative abilities for "reasons"... a caller (the tank maybe? not sure who was doing the calls) who is very clear that they should run, then says to come back after the group is scattered across half the dungeon, then calls for them to run again... and the entire group had no awareness of their surroundings or else someone would have said "hey, we're too close to that boss" before that rout even happened. Maybe I'm missing or misinterpreting things because I'm not familiar with WoW's mechanics, but to me it looks like there's a lot of craptacular play on display in that group :(

The guy had every opportunity to save them, and he didn’t, even after over 1,000 people pointed out to him, ‘you could have done something’-and yes, he could have. Asmon is literally just rage baiting or farming at this point; that’s all he does nowadays. I truly don’t believe he even believes what he said about this. When people call 'run,' it doesn’t mean ‘every man for himself’; it means to group up and get out together. This is something Pirate has encouraged before, he literally said, "That’s what I love," referring to the idea of people coming together, fighting, and surviving as a group. But he only cared about himself, which is why the roaching allegations exist. He would always blame others instead of taking any responsibility, even though he is 100% part of the blame. He acted like a child in response to the 'hate' and ended up losing a lot of friends over it. No one would want to play with him anymore, especially knowing that, as a mage, who is brought in to control the mobs in these situations, not just deal damage, he wouldn’t do the job he was invited for and only cared about himself.

Thor out of any person, has more game knowledge than almost any person in that guild. If he made the call to roach out I believe that it was the right call.
@@Undergroundtornado Well I didn't see him play in other clips but from just this one clip he does a bunch of things wrong, if the person with the most game knowledge clicks his spells instead of having hotkeys, and uses his max level blizzard instead of the low level one to slow, wasting all his mana and doesn't help when he can 100% with polimorph/ice nova/lvl1 blizzard. @@randomfeg4141 I'm not a WoW player, but it seemed like there were missed opportunities and bad calls from at least half that group. I'm assuming these are all veteran players and large WoW streamers who are probably coasting through on a lot of hype and overconfidence. As an EQ2 player, aside from why they overpulled and aggroed a boss, my big question is why didn't the tank have aggro on that mess? Does WoW not have aoe taunts or snap aggro skills? In EQ2, the tank could have used their aggro abilities to pull everything onto them while the Run call was made, then put up an evasion or stonewall skill to block or mitigate the incoming damage while they ran behind everyone else. In the worst case in that scenario, the tank would be the only one who goes down -- but, again, this is from an EverQuest 2 gameplay perspective, as I've never really played Wow.
Appreciate your take on people who genuinely do not experience things the same emotionally but also stating that they are less human for doing this.
If you take Yamato out of this situation, it would have ended differently. He was a total jerk toward Pirate and was accusing him at every chance. He was yelling at him in the dungeon, the first words out of his mouth out of the dungeon were accusing Pirate, he continued to blame Pirate even after Pirate pointed out multiple very big mistakes, in the conversation with Tyler the first thing he says is an acusation against Pirate. Tyler even tells Yamato right after the call that he can't talk like that to other people. If Yamato wasn't there agressivly pushing at Pirate, he probably would have admitted to running earlier and this would have been over with. It is very clear from his tone and his face that he was done with putting up with Yamato's bs and had no interest in trying to play the blame game with him
But lets be honest Pirate says he has the knowledge and years with the game, then proceeds to not communicate once, they made alot of mistakes has he did some but his ego says "i played it perfectly", was the outcome of the situation been avoided probably, now could he have handled the situation better, yes he could, cause he had mana and if didnt stop using blink unecessarly he would hve mana to help even more, now after the situation him knowing he roached, he was trying to act like he was in the right and bs excuses, Yamato i know he a toxic but in that situation he actually was very decent cause he was pointing things fairly, pirate was simply too Ego to understand it and cut off, then with Tyler conversation, yamato tried to talk when was his time and pirate tried to talk over him and he left, a complete childish move cause his ego cant be hurt and he acted like always he is in the right, the situation leads to was team fault, he had the knowledge and was the damn pillar to make the team survive and he failed to do so by running away alone, end of the story he a roach, he not a teamplay, not trustworty person to play with, now idk if he like that in real world if so i rather stay away from him.

He said "what do you want me to do," which means he thought in that moment that nothing he could have done in that situation would have changed it (regardless if it is true or not), but he never said he was perfect.
Secondly, Yamato wasn't pointing things out "fairly." Once out of the dungeon, the *only* thing that Yamato talks about is how Pirate ran. He ignored all of the major issues that Pirate brought up and solely focused on Pirate.
Thirdly, yeah Pirate didn't behave well when Yamato started talking during the call with Tyler. Do you want to know why? Because literally the very first thing that Yamato says is an accusation pushing blame on Pirate. Put yourself in his shoes. He is to blame for what, maybe 5%? Of that situation, but the guy who holds a large amount of the blame and literally didn't help the team at all during the retreat wants you to "take accountability." Yeah, I would dismiss anything he says too. If it was the healer that was upset, then yeah I would understand and apologize to them. But the guy who made horrible calls and did nothing to help? No way. Yamato wants shared blame when he is one of the primary causes of the situation. You guys keep saying that Pirate is "deflecting" for saying that everyone could have played better, including himself, but when Yamato does it, he is "taking responsibility." It's ridiculous

Go rewatch Tyler1's video of him being the mediator. Watch Yamato's section. You are claiming that he took responsibility for his errors. But yet, every other sentence is about Pirate. He brings up Pirate at every single chance, even when Tyler is trying to ask him something not related to Pirate. So how is he not deflecting in the same exact way that you claim Pirate is?
Then go watch the section with Pirate in the same video. Pirate explains his thought process. He was scared of the boss, he thought he was taking a very large risk by using Nova cause he would have to run past the boss twice and he obviously has no faith in the tank holding aggro. He admits that he didn't want to die, he admits that he could have played better. And then Yamato comes in and starts accusing him. So he leaves. Not once did Yamato say to him that he wasn't pushing all the blame on him directly to Pirate. Not once did he admit any of his own screw-ups (that were much bigger than Pirate's) directly in a call with Pirate in it. The only thing he actually said to Pirate were accusations. No shit Pirate was defensive and uncooperative.
So I will repeat my previous statement: Remove Yamato from this situation, and this would have ended differently.
All this drama was ridiculous. You sign up for Hardcore, you are not 100% guaranteed to survive. If you cant accept the results don't sign up. All you can do is control your character and how you do your job, you cannot control how others will react.

if they didnt run you could nova the dogs and legit just oneshot the dogs with nova cone of cold shatter combo reset with cold snap and repeat if you do decide to run you can start by novaing and kite with rank 1 blizzard slow and cold snap for double nova no reason to waste a ton of mana spam refreshing ice barrier as you are always safe with blinks anyways. To add to this the pull they did is not even that scary and is doable without sweating too much even with mediocore play it would only be sweaty with extra pack from the bodypull on the way out seeing pirate just instantly book it when he was talking so much about how to save situations earlier is and then refusing to take any blame when shit hits the fan and he insta dips is just hilarious
you dont CoC the nova for shatter in this case, it would break the root and it could give you threat. you nova, then blink out and save CoC for the slow once the mobs are freed.
@@mendedwings6087 depends on if you run or not and you can extend the slow and just kite since you have so much mana you can double shatter if you want since you have the luxury of doing so with 2x 70% slow+ kiting with strafe and rank 1 blizz slow also threath doesnt matter on mobs you can perma kite anyways its actually good you have threat if anything also the dogs will basicly insta die anyways if you do so since they are none elites and 2x aoe shatter is really good in this scenario and then you sheep the brute and at that point if your team dies to air idk what to tell you

That's the funny thing, he did claim to be some wow god gamer. A few hours before this happened, he was lecturing about how he rolled mage because "mages save lives" and how you take this talent and do this and that in order to be able to save situations that are exactly like what happened.

It is an upgraded version of Mana Gem called Mana Ruby. People just refer it as Mana Gem.

I'll bring a more real world example to this because at 200+ hours on a character, there's a bit more skin in the game with losing that:
If we're at war and someone calls for a retreat and then I hear someone (unknown who because now I'm retreating) shouting "hold" or "charge", I'm ignoring that shit, and most trained soldiers would, because whoever is rescinding the retreat command is either not in command of the unit, or if they are, have a major case of 'fog of war' and are now unsure of what decision to make, thus making a retreat the most reasonable option anyway. Uncertainty kills. Make a decision and stand by it. Reassessing RATIONALLY is fine, but shouting "run" and then 5 seconds later shouting "charge" only causes confusion in your ranks.
So for this situation, they said "run", Pirate ran, then they said "why don't you do x, y, z?", and then Pirate gave the correct response of "because you said "run." Pirate did nothing wrong. The fuck up is whoever called for the retreat and then was unsure of their call. Soda's wrong to gkick Pirate, but I always thought Soda was a bit of an immature child anyway, and he's only confirming that for me with that action.

To give full context for HC classic WoW for why this is so bad there are 3 main layers to this the behavior of pirate before the pull, the pull itself and his behavior after the deaths,
1. He previously touted himself to be a really good mage as well as putdown his own guildies and event said some of their plays made him physically ill.
2. On the pull he did not start the bad pull, the warrior tanked him in a bad spot that led to the druid ass pulling the extra pack and leading to the boss patrol. The call to run was bad by the rogue since the 2 extra pulls was easily manageable since 1 ogre was almost dead, the wolves have very little hp and the brute can be sheeped. For guild runs the call to run doesn't mean every man for himself or there would be no tanks at 60 since they will die first since they have threat. Run means try to walk out of the instance or reset spot together. a mediocre mage could have easily saved everyone with no risk to the mage with a simple cone of cold, blizz, then frost nova all down ranked. So even without the mana gem and robe he could of casted those spells.
3. Pirate then proceeded to shit talk during the pull and after and essentially never stepped up to the plate to take any responsibility while putting his guildies down. A mages job in wow classic is to help recover from mistakes especially if they are from other players, it's the expectation since they can do so with minimal risk to themselves. Then threatning content creators who objectively criticized how bad he played was just a bridge too far.
Alright, i've watched the vid, caught up on the drama etc and here's my take from a Mage main with nearly 1200 days /played on my Retail account (yes, that's just my Mage) as well as a lot of playtime from recent Classic era runs including my Mage (now in Cata though I stopped playing Cata months ago, at another 83 days).
Just as a disclaimer I have also leveled a couple characters to 60 in Hardcore, my Priest who I healed every dungeon with and never once let someone die, and my Warrior (mostly playing solo but I did tank some dungeons on the way as well).
First off, you may consider Asmon a "pro" at the game mostly on the fact he was one of the biggest WoW streamers (if not the biggest) for a long time. He never was or has ever been that good at the game, so his opinions on actual gameplay vary wildly.
Pirate 1000% roached out. Just to comment on what you said near the end of the video, not only did Pirate *not* take any percentile risk to save his team mates, he actually clearly was happy to sacrafice everyone there to save his own skin. Sara on the other hand sacraficed herself for the warrior, we see both polar opposites in one group.
Pirate at the "run" shout did just that, he tucked tail and fled. The ONLY thing he did was channel Blizzard for literally a second. He did have plenty of mana at the time it was called to run and his first instincts were to spend a lot of mana on putting up a completely pointless Ice Barrier and Blinking out of dodge.
He had nearly 3,000 mana, spent 480 of that on Ice Barrier and a I can't be sure but before that he channels a rank 5 Blizzard for a second. Regardless, he had a Mana Ruby ready (restores 1,000 to 1,200 mana). This alone was enough to help the group out. He cried about being out of mana (despite casting Ice Barrier and several Blinks, not using his Mana Ruby).
The most INFURIATING part of this for me was the fact that he was using a higher ranked Blizzard spell. WHY? He should know in this situation that you have rank 1 Blizzard ready to go, because you only care about the slowing effect, not the damage, and the slow effect is just as useful. TLDR; Pirate didn't even TRY, there was no steady stream of rank 1 Blizzard to cover the retreat, no rank 1 Frostbolts for those mobs that were not part of the group that could be slowed by the Blizzards radius. There was not a single Polymorph, Frost Nova or Cone of Cold. If we're grading Pirate here, he gets a ZERO. If I was in this situation, i'm saving the group, i'm laying down Blizzard, throwing out a Poly etc.
Looking again at this clip all Pirate had to do before things even got out of hand was to move forward a few yards and hit Frost Nova.. this would have given the group time to get to a safer distance, meanwhile you just blanket the oncoming pack with Blizzard and then make your retreat by Blinking away. Very easy. Pirate is not as good as he says he is, and he sure as hell doesn't care about his group.
If you tell me to run regardless of skill level or resources I’m running, there screaming at the healer to heal them while they attempted to salvage a situation that was doomed from the start got the healer killed, the trying to salvage is what got ppl killed and there mad at pirate because he didn’t risk his character for a bad situation…

I think a lot of context is missed that he doesnt really know these people in the group. Onlyfangs isnt a normal guild where most people are friends. Its a glorified high school. They werent friends running a dungeon together. Im pretty sure you are only allowed to play with guild members. Also this was their second failed run that day. In which the same thing happened but the first time no one died.

for context: Asmons main content was farming mounts and cosmetics from past expansions. you legit need no gear or skill for that.
I mean asmons original wow content, before he was a streamer or content creator was a mix of guide content (what got him so big so early on) and soloing hard content in the old expansions. When he went to streaming he started with like 300 viewers due to his youtube grind and eventually he started farming mounts and such. He was a top raider and solo player back in the days of old, saying he wasnt is blatantly lying. Now could he do it now? Noone knows, hes bored and tired of the game, id say he probably cant, but his memory is enough to say his takes are enough to listen to and cross examine for opinions.
Sara 100% was out and safe until Yama's dumb ass called for her to turn around and heal to pull threat onto her; resulting in her death. He also started screaming "this is salvageable" right as he is telling the healer to off themselves. They where also under orders to NOT DIE ROACH OUT HEARTH OUT PLAY FOR YOURSELF these where all commands given during a guild meeting prior; pirate did exactly as he was told. Only problem is these babies get all butthurt when someone actually does it.

Have you ever played retail? Its not great at the moment from what ive heard, but from time to time it gets super fun. Im a wow playing coming to BDO on a break and your content has helped me learn a lot. Would love to see you play some wow and since you were talking about dungeons I just have to mention Mythic Plus. Pushing M+ was some of the most fun ive ever had in my life. Also, right now it seems like wow viewers suck because they arent actually wow viewers. They are Onlyfangs viewers and most havent even hit max level on any of the versions.
I gotta disagree with Blue on the fact that everyone ran, they definitely were kiting the mobs, but running away and kiting is not the same thing. Also, no, not everyone understands, if I was in M+ and the call was given to run I would run without looking back, that what it means, you can say "let's back up" or "let's kite" if you want to kill the mobs, but you don't say run. Moreover, in my personal opinion it's a little disingenuous to put a label of "good" or "bad" on a person over a video game.
I don't like pirate very much tbh but the call was given, so Pirate has nothing to be blamed for in regards to the game. And if someone is dumb enough to disagree, think of it this way, imagine a wipe was called on a boss, and when you go and die, the caller changes their mind says "no it's salvageable" and proceeds to attack you for the fact that you died.

You have no clue what you're talking about. Run includes helping your team anyway, but he also called him back and was ignored. Melee characters can't just run, they have to face the mobs or they get a dazed debuff. He literally abandoned them instead of kiting, his literal job in the group. All he had to do was frost nova and rank 1 blizzard instead of spamming escape moves with no threat to him, so he could lie about having no mana.

1 of 2 scenarios on Asmon's take if he genuinely believes it and isnt ragebaiting.
1) he knows more than 100 other different veteran WoW content players - so either he has played for 20 years and is biased towards helping piratesoftware and is lying on the actual take or he has played for 20 years and doesn't know the game at all.
2) everybody else is wrong (sodapoppin, shroud, summit1g, amphy ect the list goes on) about 50+ veteran players.
Which of these sounds more likely.
Also I'm not one to say that everyone else played perfect (except the healer who died like a hero - respect) but yeah pirate here could have saved everyone if he was a better player.
I think the thing that pisses people off is that he said he couldn't have saved anyone and that it isnt an issue of skill but based on the resources he had available - even though he had enough mana and its proven this way.

Hi Blue, Love your content. Everyone will have a opinion on this. The pull was bad, the druid pulled extra mobs, The call was to run not fight a tactical retreat. They all messed up and 2 characters died. QQ. Regardless of what class I was playing I would have bugged out. Lets remember it is just a game and death threats/harassment directed at pirate and his staff is unacceptable.
I think because he is the main enchanter his first prio is to the guild not to some clown group and they should have been happy to give there lives to keep him alive because of such. Otherwise they just selfish and not thinking about the guild.
This whole thing really painted onlyfangs in a bad light for me. I thought it was a neat concept but after pilav and now this they just seem like a bunch of soy clowns.
Pilav deserved the kick 10000% he was literally making sexual comments about Annie who he has never even met…
Never played WoW, but in EQ2 when you get an overpull or a train and the call to run is made, you don't stand around and see what happens -- you book it for the zoneline and hope everyone makes it out. I'm not sure why there's so much drama with this... was he supposed to just ignore the call to run so he could stand and die with his homies, so three (or more) of them can start from scratch instead of just two? Aside from it being a buncha streamers in Hardcore mode, this is a wipe situation that most MMO players have seen countless times, and it's no big deal.
It's a pretty big deal too permanently lose hundreds of hours of game

turning your cam away from your team and blinking out instantly the moment u even sense danger and then not even check if you CAN help or so anything is just weird as hell, esp as a cc mage
@ I agree, it wasn't a stellar performance by Pirate... but he also wasn't the only one giving a halfhearted effort either. If this had been a random pickup group in EQ2 or Throne (or any other MMO I've played), I'd prolly have bailed on it without hesitation, too.
I mean, there's a tank who's got zero aggro control (was he the puller as well? cause whoever is pulling should be aware of the groups hp/mana as well as the mob placement, to prevent exactly the mess they got into)... I'm gonna assume the dps in the group had zero f's about anything but their parse, and weren't waiting for the tank to grab aggro (cause none of em ever did when I was tanking in EQ2 haha!)... a healer who stops and stands in the middle of mobs (that have no aggro control because the group is running) to heal (thus generating the aggro that immediately gets her killed)... a druid(?) who is proximity aggroing additional groups of mobs (which then kill him before turning on the rest of the group)... a CC mage who isn't doing any CC (or even trying to) and seems to be intentionally unaware of his mana restorative abilities for "reasons"... a caller (the tank maybe? not sure who was doing the calls) who is very clear that they should run, then says to come back after the group is scattered across half the dungeon, then calls for them to run again... and the entire group had no awareness of their surroundings or else someone would have said "hey, we're too close to that boss" before that rout even happened.
Maybe I'm missing or misinterpreting things because I'm not familiar with WoW's mechanics, but to me it looks like there's a lot of craptacular play on display in that group :(

who says it wasnt pirates fault? and also, what do you even mean by 'fault'. mage has the highest level of impact from the highest position of safety out of any class. there was literally hundreds of things pirate could have contributed before full roaching, and he would have been equally safe while doing them. but he did not even try. that is the point
The druid and healer are idiots, not his fault. Why would someone risk their play time over you being a idiot? Looks to me like they wanted to get Pirate killed and are mad it didn't work. Welcome to the character screen for your idiot choices. They went back on their call and said it was salvageable, stick to a call, confusion in groups get ppl killed regardless if he could of helped or not. The ppl he's saying would get banned are ppl making threats obviously.

Pirate's attitude fucking sucks, but I think it's stupid that he's getting all the blame when the tank essentially made two bad, contradicting calls when resources were already low.

The guy had every opportunity to save them, and he didn’t, even after over 1,000 people pointed out to him, ‘you could have done something’-and yes, he could have. Asmon is literally just rage baiting or farming at this point; that’s all he does nowadays. I truly don’t believe he even believes what he said about this.
When people call 'run,' it doesn’t mean ‘every man for himself’; it means to group up and get out together. This is something Pirate has encouraged before, he literally said, "That’s what I love," referring to the idea of people coming together, fighting, and surviving as a group. But he only cared about himself, which is why the roaching allegations exist. He would always blame others instead of taking any responsibility, even though he is 100% part of the blame.
He acted like a child in response to the 'hate' and ended up losing a lot of friends over it. No one would want to play with him anymore, especially knowing that, as a mage, who is brought in to control the mobs in these situations, not just deal damage, he wouldn’t do the job he was invited for and only cared about himself.
imo, without taking sides, the mage was out of mana man, bad call to try and salvage it, it's hardcore WoW, you play safe, you don't tryhard it.

What people don't take into account is mages have cone of cold, frost nova, and blizzard that can be cast at rank 1 that still snare or slow everything at the cost of less than like 100 mana and mages can save a whole group and he did almost nothing and his argument is bs he just hard roached he played like dog shit
yeah lmao. the very first thing pirate does is cast a max rank blizzard, then cancel it before it even ticks, wasting all his mana for nothing. then starts arguing that he has no mana, except he still had his mana gem.... the guy didnt even try. on the safest class with the highest impact
