I have the same plant in a 8" pot and there's a bud ; can't wait to see it! I am somewhat perplexed, though. It's summer of Aug. in Ohio and the bloom? I grow it under LED's. Thanks for sharing this beauty!
Your Cattleya is 20 years old? I believe you know how to grow an orchid. Im just starting to grow Cattleyas. My Potinara Orchid, i grew from bare root, 2022. Might bloom next year. I just got a Corona Green Genie. She is in a wood basket. I hope my Catts look as good as yours some day. My Cattleya have not bloomed for me yet. I have a big Phal. She is 15 years old. My big baby! Thank you for showing us your beautiful Cattleya and sharing how you care for her. 💓
It's just wonderful😁🙏💖The salmon pink and yellow with pink is amazing😊💞I have a unifoliate cattleya that's huge and has yellow flowers with magenta pink labelum. Sorry, but it's unnamed. How do you keep cats off your orchids? Maybe have cat toys dangling about that are more fun than playing with orchid leaves😉🙏
If you live in the United State then, Waldor Orchids and Odom’s Orchids sell it. I have ordered from Odom’s before and had a good experience with them.
I haven’t stopped my cats from chomping orchids but I have slowed them down. I keep a pot of oats growing just for them at all times. One of my cats keeps the oats mowed most of the time and shows less interest in orchids. (As a bonus, when she eats oats, her tummy feels better and she doesn’t puke on my carpet.)
The George King is spectacular!! It is huge! I have a small one that I bought at the Relands orchid festival in Miami and I mounted it. I hope it blooms one day. 🎉 I’m surprised at the watering that it gets. I’ve been given advise to water twice weekly (for my cattleyas). Now I’m not so sure bc yours is so big and beautiful- your method seems to work as well. I grow outside though mostly is clay pots. 🤷🏼♀️
I got this orchid back in January of this year. Hopefully it really is a Rlc. george King Serendipity. It is smaller than this but it was in bad shape. Unfortunately I didn't know this until after I bought the orchid, the seller is known to grab the wrong plant. The plant I got wasn't blooming, had a rotten pseudo bulb and few roots. I have since gotten 2 new growths on it, and a far fetched dream of this orchid blooming for me this fall.
@@Marvel170 sorry to hear about the condition your plant was in when it arrived but it sounds like you are on the right track with two new growths. That is success!
Love watching large orchid like this. Very satisfying to watch. ❤
Amazing, just amazing! That is one big ole Catt! ❤

I love this plant. I just got a much smaller one.
That is awesome. Give it some time to adjust to your environment and you will be rewarded with the same beauty.
WOW!!!!!!!
Thank you
Beautiful orchid, l have been trying to get this color, but can't find it, thanks for sharing.

Melissa, I think in your environment, you have to water more often due to the extreme heat. I have a controlled temperature indoors.
She is the outside or inside orchids. Her leaves are looking healthy.
Always indoors
Whoa my george king is a baby compared with that one
