This is one of the reasons Shayne is a good face for Smosh... he can be in a video by himself, and is still doing his best to validate, appreciate and champion all of his coworkers.
Plus he clearly excelled by himself for more than an hour (I'm guessing the shoot ran at least that long if not more). Not easy to keep the audience engaged by yourself.
As I have learned from another commenter, apparently it's difficult to sit next to him during lunch cause his table's always full.
He's the popular kid in school basically, but the good kind. Popular because he's just a good dude.

The series of Shayne just using his degree is just my favorite thing in the world.
I LOVE these Shayne guesses videos. It not only gives us uninterrupted Shayne and his awesome thought process, it helps us learn the crew individually, when we love them collectively already. It's fun learning the cast and crew's favorite movies....and also how they slap lol
The fact that Shayne knows his CEO well enough to predict her fav movies is insane. Like how many employees could say that 😂
To be fair that kinds of stuff usually will ultimately depends on the CEO themselves, in my experience if a CEO were friendly and down to earth then their employees will bound to make friends with them (for more than one reason obviously)
On top of that, she's only been the CEO since Ian & Anthony bought the company back from Mythical. So either Shayne picked up on something about her in just a few months, or there was some pre-existing familiarity there that we just don't know about.
So Ale Catanese is/was the COO and EP for Anthony's production company, so makes sense that she would follow him over.
Many employees don't even know their CEO at all 😅
He didn't predict her favourite movies. He identified her, picking from a fairly small pre-determined group of people that he knows, after being GIVEN her favourite movies. That is far less difficult than predicting her favourite movies.

Shayne getting excited about Spirited Away made me so happy 😊. I've nearly watched all the Ghibli films but Spirited Away really does have the most incredible soundtrack.... so does Howls Moving Castle, and Princess Mononoke.
Also the sound design for The Wind Rises is insane. The sound effects for the earthquake, engines/trains etc are made with human voices - its really affecting.
The Wind Rises is my favorite Ghibli movie by far! Glad to see someone else appreciates it too

I love that this is a series. My whole life I've treated my best friends as if I was on a game show or quiz and I had to guess their answers or do a matchup like this. So this hits home for me
Man,much respect to almost everyone on the team for narrowing their move choices down to just three. I empathize with the person who had to choose 4. It took a lot of deliberation to think about what I would choose if I was in those shoes (It came down to Scott Pilgrim V.S. the world, Joker 2019, and Interstellar) but even then there are a lot of runner ups and I think my choices could honestly change on a whim if you asked me another time.

Anthony's movie choices are very interesting. One is Gladiator, the other 2 are Home Alone. That, like, covers such a broad range.
He said before in an Old Smosh Christmas video that Home Alone 1 & 2 are in his top favorite Christmas movies list.
I think we know now where Anthony’s iconic screams and expressions are inspired from. If only he had been there for the TNTL with Macaulay Culkin.

These videos are always so funny but I am also crying thinking about how Shayne knows his coworkers and friends so well. Like how sweet is it to know and remember these conversations, but to also know the people in your life do well that you can guess their favorites.

Recently watched High School musical for the first time. Was waiting for the big musical they were auditioning for as a grand finale… turns out the audition was the actual end and I laughed so hard at how successful these movies became with that ending

This is so wholesome every time you all get to flex your empathy. Like, I know it's Shayne on the cover, but I legit feel like this wouldn't be as cool without the crew and cast putting their two cents in BTS and that only happens if y'all show that care towards each other. Also, my favorites are probably Princess Bride for the kitchen drawer genre it holds, either Legally Blonde, My Cousin Vinny, or The Proposal for Girl Boss/Golden Girls energy, and maybe Speed/Jurassic Park for something with action and suspense.

This is a master series in what it means to take a genuine interest in people. It's insane how delightful it is to just watch Shayne work out the personalities and interests of his friends and consistently get them correct in some form. He honestly would make a good therapist just for that clear listening aspect alone.

Shayne guessing things is legitimately my favorite series.
I think when people are asked these questions they either try to not be obvious or pick something they think others will agree are good movies. I think alex's list is probably one of the most honest.
I hope we all end up with a shayne-like friend in our lives 😂
