- Associate Curator Dita Amory presents a discussion of the radiant late interiors and still lifes of Pierre Bonnard (French, 1867 - 1947) that were on view at the Met, January 27 through April 19, 2009. Compelling metaphors for a range of sensations, the late paintings convey a disquieting effect. It is these luminous late interiors that define Bonnard's modernism and have prompted a reappraisal of his reputation in the history of twentieth-century art.
I know virtually nothing about art. Yet I have always loved Bonnards work even as a young man. I am now 68 yers old. I still have
that fascination with Bonnard.
An intelligent lecture shedding light on the many aspects of Bonnard, who, not included in the movements in 'terms' like cubism, impressionism etc. surely has made it as "BONNARD" , For he is an experience ALL his own. Even digitally, the work is lush and illuminating ... Strangely, I'd like to add that an astrological Libra, which Bonnard was, is a much more balanced expression than a violent angry Scorpio, Picasso. Each had his purpose. I prefer Bonnard.
Interesting talk

It's like a Where's Waldo when she says there's a figure in it.
