Silverstone FF2000 Single-seater Test - My First Day on Track

Silverstone National circuit test day, my first time out on track in any car except my ARDSs test at Brands Hatch.
Other cars include an F2 car and the majority were F1000s (which is what i am aiming to race next year).
Lapping at 62.8 seconds fastest lap, completed 100 laps in the day. The start was wet and greasy which made for a fun but challenging first session, session 2 had a thin dry line. This video is from 3 and 4 which was a dry and good track.

The car is a Van Diemen RF82 Formula Ford 2000, with a Sherwood tuned Pinto 2 Litre Ford engine and Hewland Mk8/9 gearbox, around 440kg’s around 130BHP. Young Damon Hill and Ayrton Senna drove these on the way to F1.

Thank you for sharing! After my track day, may 2023 in a Caterham on the Silverstone international track, as a complete newbie with an instructor next to me, I can very much appreciate your challenges of driving a racing line and navigating traffic. Luckily the traffic was navigated by my instructor :) Excellent footage, during the breaks I would have loved to hear some perspective in a voice over on your challenges and triumphs. Well done!

The Caterham racing series looks awesome, I’ve never driven one.
Navigating traffic during a test is harder than navigating a race, racing is more predictable.
Appreciate that, yes if I had made that video today I would have definitely done the voiceover. Thanks for the feedback, always looking to build and improve

@@ChapmansCorner When we’re you there Brett? The Mono has a Hewland (FTR) gearbox like your car, there’s nothing better than the sound of straight cut gears is there?
