I was in high school in Detroit back in the 70s. This whole album takes me back to those days. The name, Silk Sonic, has a 70s vibe to it; reminds me of a group from Philly named, Blue Magic. This tune reminds me of a 1972 hit by hometown band, The Dramatics, called, "In The Rain".
Had to drop in and see you react to this one! Tears and chills! Those drums, the heart, and it is homage to an era, not mimicry of one! I also love the love ballads.

Album is a a masterpiece we didn't see coming. Bringing back the ole school music, that gave you the chills from back in the day. When music Was music, you could understand and appreciate the Warm buttery tingliy feeling you use to get. Bring it back. Silk Sonic keep on pushing, forget for higher ground. Check out Make It Better with Smokey Robinson or Reachin 2 Much with Lalah Hathaway on Ventura. He wasn’t a slouch in the singing department before this collab…people knew him better as a rapper because he’s been featured on a song by pretty every legendary rapper. Bruno is a straight vocalist, and it speaks for himself. There wouldn’t be Silk Sonic without BOTH of them writing and delivering these songs.

Maybe you’ve checked some of their interviews by now, but Bruno called Babyface in on this one. When he heard it, he said, ‘You gotta put a modulation in right there,.’. That’s when you take it up to the next key. He also sang background on this also. Bruno called the order of the songs, the ‘set list of doom’, because he arranged the songs in order to tell a story. It’s fun to check out the songs in random order as well, but when you see from the story perspective, it puts the whole thing into a context, that really can help alleviate the comparison of one song to another. The album project as a whole is deeper than that, starting from Intro, & finishing with Blast Off, which I would say kinda leaves the door open for more. ‘Happy trails bama!’ Great reaction!
