This video brought back so many memories for me, but not for the same reason it may have for others. During high school, I watched lots and lots of Friday Nights (I was very casual so I never saw them right when they came out), so the faces assembled here playing together brings me back to that stage in my life, which didn't happen as much when I went to college because of Covid. Thank you all for everything you do.
My LGS didn't have even close to enough people wanting to draft this set, so I had a really disappointing weekend when this dropped. Glad I can at least live vicariously through you guys, cheers
In my Dominaria Remastered draft I picked up 3 Squirrel Next, 4 Ichor Slick, a Necrosavant and a Spiritmonger. I went 2-1, I threw the last match because my opponent was like 10 and it was his first draft. Squirrel Nest is indeed stupidly powerful in this format.
@@markbrierley6367 I only got one land untappedr but I picked up a bunch of solid 2 to 4 mana creatures and ran my opponent's over. Also, the cycle lands are very strong in draft
Rabia, Ulgothra,. Rath, and Mercadia are the 4 Non dominarian planes seen prior to Mirrodin... Seen for Arabian Nights, Homelands, The Rath Cycle, and Masques block respectively. Also After the Rath Cycle once Rath was overlayed on Dominaria by the phyrexians we were kind of in it and in dominaria at the same time. It became a lot easier to transition between planes once Dominaria was removed from the Shard, by the world spell cast to end the Ice age.
A friend and I did some sealed of this set today, and my pool had 2 Gerard's edict. I remembered seeing it as a card you should be playing on north 100, so i played the HECC outta those two copies. I had one on turn 2 in nearly every game it felt so good!
My first draft of this I went Sultai. Had Exploration with Tatyova and Ovinomancer to keep up the landfall. That was fun. But I also had Aboria + Dark Depths. The only game I got that to work I played Arboria then next turn DD and Elvish Aberration. Then I didn't cast any more spells until it was over. Lost in the finals to mono Red. Four fireblasts to the dome doesn't care about Arboria.
This set is so good because it just reprints whatever the heck it wants. Juggernaut in 2023 still held up, and it probably will continue to hold up as just a "actual valid play." Plus, Flanking? Yeah, pretty powerful ability. I Love Dominaria Remastered simply because it's good to throw in a good old mystery draft when you don't have access to mystery boosters, since it's a decent substitute for Mystery Boosters........
1:39:23 I agree 100% with Paul here. Spirit, elemental, construct, and even zombie. They have lot of variants which doesn’t need to be the case. I wish they had defined them like treasure tokens. Instead of “2/2 black Zombie creature token with decay” say “Decaying Zombie token.” Or Kami token vs Statue Spirit token. I can already imagine arguments on why they wouldn’t do this, but it’s still something I would vouch for if I worked at WotC.
Cameron dethrones Serge as the resident heel. In the next episode, Serge and Wheeler put aside their feud to take on the Cameron-Alex tag team (stable name: "The Actual Wizards")
"Why is Horseshoe Crab even in this set?" Because there is a sick tap/untap subtheme in this set! I went 2-1 in a draft by drafting Crabs and Quicksilver Daggers
This is a joyous set, in which "fireblast, ornithopter, ornithopter, empty the warrens" is a normal turn.
just casually
Oh my god. The Jesters cap. The Fireblast. The Tormod’s crypt. Whoever edits the highlight reels is gonna have a field day with this stream
I like the game of "Guess the Archetypes" at the beginning. Much more fun than just reading out the list.
Now to watch the rest of the video.
Wheeler's response to Serge's hot take was one of the funniest things I've heard in a long time. A+ content all around!

Graham and Wheeler's match was fantastic, love the banter so much
This set really is “old Magic as good as you remember it”. Truly POWERFUL MAGIC
Game 01 between Graham and Ben was such good limited Magic. Such huge swings!!
My LGS didn't have even close to enough people wanting to draft this set, so I had a really disappointing weekend when this dropped. Glad I can at least live vicariously through you guys, cheers
Draft ends 33:00
Graham passing Squirrel Nest and Overgrowth for Jester's Cap gave me a mind conniption but I respect it nevertheless
edit: I take it all back

My second draft I went Selesnya. I had a nest and two of the land untappers. It only came up once, but it was very gross.
@@markbrierley6367 I only got one land untappedr but I picked up a bunch of solid 2 to 4 mana creatures and ran my opponent's over. Also, the cycle lands are very strong in draft
My favorite Mountain Go song is You or Your Memory Jar.
"Second burrito's always free" took something out of my soul and I want it back.
"second burrito is always free" what a quote
"They're goldfishing in front of their screens!"
I feel personally attacked.
Excellent, as always. Thank you.
That Babycakes quip from Wheeler.....hit the lower back pretty hard.
I really like that spinal embrace tells an entire phyrexian infiltration story. "Join us. Kill your friends. Get broken down for parts."

Lookin good Graham 💪💪
Anyone else love the fact that all five colors were represented in the Cam vs. Serge game?

I was waiting for this vid for the longest time. Great to see you playing!
That was a lot of fun! I can't wait until I can actually get my friends together to draft my box.

My favorite Mountain Go song is Draw Pass
The Juggernaut pokemon moments into the Fireblast. Good, clean, magic (ish) content right there. Juggernaut Jug indeed.

1:07:49 I'm goldfishing while whole bit is going on and am feeling called out
I turn 3 made 14 goblins and 16 goblins in this draft format hoping to see more wack creature less shenanigans this draft : D
I just want to see a deck with multiple Royal Assassins and tappers against a bunch of Horseshoe Crabs. "They won't stay still!!"
Fun! Cheers, kind folks!
Bless this bell worthy content

I cannot express how pleased I am with myself for instantly knowing what card makes a 2/1 cat token that isn't green.
and everyone else in your life is disappointed
@@clelvis225 The only disappointment here is you being a party pooper
Giant Spider is pretty cool, but it can't [usually] cast a Lightning Bolt, so mountains are cooler.
Best Ever Death Metal Band out of Ugoltha was my favorite off that album.
"Why is Horseshoe Crab even in this set?" Because there is a sick tap/untap subtheme in this set! I went 2-1 in a draft by drafting Crabs and Quicksilver Daggers
Canadians pronouncing it "La Cwah" is incredibidly funny to me.
Sweet, I have Floodgate in my Thassa commander deck!
Graham v Wheeler game one is an absolute classic
Cameron, I want you to know that I was eating soup when the words 'pondering tasteful side-orb' reached my ears.
You owe me one soup.
Can't not acknowledge the classic Paul "Hallo"
I hadn't seen the Robbie Williams thing, Graham... I was happier before that...
Jester's Cap beating Storm is not something I had on my LRR bingo card.
1:29:58 Mountain is better than giant spider!
excited for Becca Scott on the PPR!
BtB StP for Nelson is a tight start
serges hopes draining from his face in slow motion
Great watch, but damn some ambience while drafting would've been great
So it's official? 2023 is the year of wheeler getting unreasonably dumpstered. I mean stifles and jester's caps are now just... A thing
While they were jokin about the togs all I heard in my head was TOG RIDAH
I like the set, I don't know about burrito cannon. I'll get back to you.
Hello is a catchphrase now
Finally got me a Remora, so thank you, reprints. lol
I agree more with Paul on the token thing, but Serge's idea isnt THAAAAAT bad.
Engagement and interaction with creator to please the mathemagics that choses what gets seen or not.
Good, I was hoping to see if it is actually good to draft
2:21 and 2:10:38
incoming Serge squeak
Perfectly normal human noises friend 😂
Holy crypt 🤣🤣🤣
2:09:10 oh no the Tormod's crypt
Jester’s cap?!
i need that wheel device
MISSISSIPI QUEEN
Giant Spider beats mountain
Why kavu primarch is cast for 7 instead of 8?
Anybody say, "HI, Serge's Dad!"
Serge makes sense, but he's still wrong! Sorry, Serge. (Re: Tokens)
did wheeler lose an amulet or something
33:25 for game 1, for anyone who'd like to skip the drafting phase.
No "Red Green = ducktape" joke?
