This is also known as Puzzle & Action: Treasure Hunt as the arcade version was released in the US. I used the Saturn version of this game since it's both arcade perfect and that for the arcade version MAME has imperfect graphics (mostly layering problems) and imperfect sound (stemming from ST-V emulation issues). A neat game but also pretty tough once the game rank goes way up.
2 players helps in mitigating the effects of RNG somewhat but at the end of the day there's a lot of manipulation that has to be done. I did what I could with mini game manipulation to at least get the first bunch of games to be the faster ones but it's rough. Even within some mini games there's RNG to contend with, most noticeable with the hammer rescue mini game and the intentional whiffs to get good RNG for the other player. Certainly improvable but not in a way that I'd say is easy.
