You might still consider day camping! Like once a month! With the family, doing a meal, some seasonal activity - summer seaside, Easter bluebells, winter mud and a hot tea watching wildlife, snow and sleighride (even if you just pull your son), drone shot, some sort of activity, nature shot! Inspiring the community! Tell a story! You are really good at it! Like: My parents took us camping in a caravan! 4 beds, made 2 sitting areas, 4 and 4-6! May day they would use it as a base for a family gathering in a B road lay by (quite off the road in a wood quite similar to your haunted wood) near my mom's childhood village! The caravan was the coffee making facility really and everyone added to the picknick and barbeque! I remember one May 1st, rain just fell from the sky! 3 sisters, husbands, 2grandparents and 7 little kids sat out the rainstorm in that caravan! The day ended brilliantly!
Been watching your vid and your Oex mat did you know theres an additional bit that pulls out of the pump sack to double the capacity when pumping it up
council land is best as they basically shutdown overnight. police wont turn out unless you are causing a disturbance, doing drugs or having a dangerous fire in the dry weather.
Yeah they’re not gonna care are they? Anyway I have no idea what my £205/mo pays for since we live on a new build estate and a private company manages our roads etc, may as well make use of the space I’m paying for!!!
Those laws you mentioned don't apply in the whole of the UK. Here in Scotland the Land Reform Act of 2003 gives us access rights not a million miles away from what you'd find in the Scandinavian countries.
Also the geograph website is very good for finding a possible place to pitch. The idea is that it's a photo hosting site to get multiple photos of every single grid reference in the UK.

People keep saying that, gonna have to see if I can find it!
Didn't know the Law ins & outs.. Interesting to know, that forest does look beautiful tho!
Glad it was useful! Yeah, I’m looking forward to checking it out proper next week.
Bear in mind that that early part of the video regards the law doesn't apply (in the most part) in Scotland.
