More Queen pls, the Queen army will blow your numbers sky high! You must do their set at Live Aid at Wembley, 21 mins that is widely regarded as the best live performance ever! I know it's hard to believe that 4 guys (with 3 that sing) can create such magic, but it's true. Each of them is a degree'd genius in their fields (John Deacon: Degree with Honors in Electronics - Brian May: Doctorate in Astrophysics - Roger Taylor: Degree in Biology - Freddie Mercury: Degree in Graphic Art and Design) and each of them wrote hit songs for the band. Queen is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and all four of them were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame (the first band to have all members inducted together). None of them ever had one voice lesson. SO much more! You will have fun learning. They are magical and the more you know, the more you want to know. (And pllllease readers, John did *not* sing despite being near mics sometimes at concerts. Even at Live Aid, the mic was off. John said _many_ times, "I do not sing." Brian and Roger have also said that John never sang in many interviews. Just heading off a rebuttal!)

    The fact that so many reactors actually think this is auto-tuned or not live shows you how pathetic modern "singers" and performers are! This is called musicianship and pure honed skill! Thus is why people over 40 are so disgusted with the crap called today's music.

    This is an outstanding performance by the entire band, everybody nailed it. I love this performance and this song. This is live in Montreal, Canada, Queen is just that good. Beat live band ever in my opinion. Great in the studio but even more impressive live. The Band: Freddie Mercury: Lead vocals and piano. Brian May: Guitar and backing vocals. John Deacon: Bass. Roger Taylor: Drums and backing vocals (almost a duet with Freddie in this song). Brian built that guitar with his dad when he was a teen from junk they had laying around the house. He still uses that same guitar almost exclusively today. The face in the bass drum is Roger (drummer). Roger's kit is so big that it can be hard to see him so Freddie wanted to put Roger's face on the drum for the audience to see at least an image of Roger. Next live Queen should be White Queen, live at Odeon, Hammersmith, 1975. Amazing vocals and instrumentation and you will go crazy for the guitar and piano in that one. Thank you for your reaction

    • @HealthAtAnyCost
      @HealthAtAnyCost ปีที่แล้ว +6

      In the Commentary with Brian and Roger during this concert (on TH-cam and way worth watching), Brian teases Roger about his face on the bass drum and Roger says he put it there because no one can see him... "a risk of being in the back all the time," he says. So it seems Roger and his delicious ego was the one who created his bass face with bright red (drunk?!?) eyes. Whomever it was, it's a crazy cool bass drum!

    • @sherryheim5504
      @sherryheim5504 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The tale of the drum face. I have seen it credited a few different ways over the years so whatever the story is, it is a cool picture of Roger. I wonder if Roger painted it? He is a painter. I guess we will never know. According to Brian, he and Roger never got along, though they do now. With that said, you have to wonder the spirit of the question and the reply. Roger and Brian are both incredibly smart. I wonder if that was at the base of their disagreements.

      @@sherryheim5504 That has me laughing so hard! Wouldn't that be just like the petty fights we have heard (in Crack videos) and typical of how they have made jabs at each other on interviews over the years? I often think age has softened them (like it does for many of us old folks, myself included) and those things that seemed so important once... "I want THIS note." "But I want THAT note!" Somewhere I heard Brian say they even fought about drops of coffee. Imagination or not, it was clear they didn't get along earlier. But the beauty of that is they still _knew_ their music together was magic. And they kept going. Thankfully for all of us Queenies!

      @@sherryheim5504 They quarrel about everything - still - but musically they still create something extraordinary - and they get along well - they have matured. I think of Brian as a very strong headed person - who may have difficulty in compromising his musical visions - - There may be a hint of it in one of the versions of "Making of One Vision" - there are four different versions. They often give interviews separately - but that may have practical reasons?? - - I don't know - this is pure guessing - and a fact is - no matter their differences - they have accomplished extraordinary things together.

Freddie is often portrayed as the leader of the band, but he always gave equal standing to Brian May guitar virtuoso, Roger Taylor drummer & incredible vocals and John Deacon a fine bassist and electronic wizard. One of the hardest working (always rehearsals) and most creative bands around for 20 years.

      They are still hard working - Roger and Brian are still going strong with solo carriers and collaborations with other artists - and as producers - they have made a show with Ben Elton - We Will Rock You - they are supervising it , auditioning the singers, popping up in the middle of a show as surprise - and they were musical producers of the movie "Bohemian Rhapsody". And they do a lot of charity work - and Brian is active in his field as astronomer - and stereoscopy - taking the first 3-D pictures in space in collaboration with NASA. And the still perform as Queen - now +Adam Lambert for the last 12 years - touring 0nce every year - for sold out stadiums/venues all over the world - with new generations being fans - like yourself??

That's why it looks so good even today. You can see the live version of Bohemian Rhapsody from this concert as well. They never played the whole song live as there was no way to replicate the first part where Freddie is overlaying his own voice on separate tracks and the middle portion is recorded.

    This was a professionally filmed concert, so it is cinematic quality. The film director irked Freddie by asking the audience to restrain themselves. Freddie obviously took this a a challenge, and took every opportunity to excite the crowd. Yes, this was recorded live---that was the point of filming it. (Not all of those cups were full of beer. Freddie drank lemon tea for his voice.) Brian May on guitar (which he built), John Deacon on bass, and Roger Taylor on drums. Roger had a amazing voice, and Brian also sang.

    Queen is one of the best selling artists of all time!! Best known for their live performances .. brilliant & intelligent musicians! And they’ve got the world’s best frontman & vocalist “to boot” 👉 Freddie Mercury!! This is my favorite song as it was also Freddie’s! How about DRAGON ATTACK next!! Funky & Sassy!

    The guy with the guitar is Sir Brian Harold May PhD OBE and the guitar is THE Red Special which he made himself with his dad because he couldn't afford to buy a really good guitar as a teenager, he still uses it almost all the time.
    The face on the bass drum is Roger Taylor the drummer, it started as the Queen logo but Roger felt that the fans should be able to see him on stage for more than the bow and farewell at the end of a performance

    Freddie was known to say that they purposely left this song’s Live arrangement “loose” since this song is Queen’s ode to Aretha Franklin & her ‘gospel-rock” style of singing. The studio version is great but nothing is ever better than Queen(with Freddie) live. Freddie was and will ALWAYS be considered the GREATEST Frontman in history of music. I was lucky enough to see Queen in concert twice, once when I was only 8 & then last time they toured(with Freddie) in 1986 when I was 12. Usually it the studio version/recording that is better, but with Queen & Freddie nothing can beat their live performances. Remember this was long before Audio-Tune was even invented(which was in 1995). Personally I feel that we really lost something when Audio-Tune was invented, music has never been as great as it was before audio-tune. Just like how music videos started to hurt the music industry, since that’s when it started to become more about how the artist looked, so too audio-tune hurt since it’s become harder to trust if the artist is really the one singing on the track.

      Funny story to go along with this.
      The director of the Doc tried to tell Freddy and the band it would be best if they wore the same clothes 3 concerts in a row for their film.
      Freddy looked at him, smiled and said you're here to document us, not direct us...fuck off! Lolol

    Queen is a British rock band that was formed in 1970 and was comprised of:
    Freddie Mercury - Lead vocals and pianist
    Roger Taylor - Drummer and vocals (Yes, that is Roger's face on the bass drum. Everyone was always complaining that they couldn't see his face)
    Brian May - Lead guitar and vocals
    John Deacon - Bass guitar
    Queen is a "rock" group who produced 15 studio albums, 10 live albums, 16 compilation albums, two soundtrack albums, 2 extended plays, 73 singles, and seven promotional singles. and was one of the most influential groups in music history.
    Queen is an unusual rock band. All four members had amazing musical talent and each of the four members was a successful composer. Queen is the only group in which all members of the band have songs inducted into the Music Hall of Fame.
    Each member of Queen was a strong and unique individual. They each had different musical tastes which is probably why Queen's catalog of music contains such a variety of genres. They wrote and recorded songs that are soft rock, hard rock, progressive rock, arena rock, thrash rock, glam rock, rockabilly, r&b, blues, pop, soul, funk, disco, dance music, jazz, gospel, folk, opera, show tunes, ragtime, etc. They would sometimes combine multiple genres in a single
    BTW - Check out the live version of "Under Pressure" from Wembley. The video also shows Freddie's call and response with the audience. th-cam.com/video/OVzvoPP6M50/w-d-xo.html
