Artist Gabriel Dawe's indoor rainbows visually represent the full spectrum of natural light. His artwork, crafted from ordinary embroidery thread hooked from floor to ceiling in a repetitive overlay, forms an ethereal and shimmering pattern. This creates a mirage-like optical illusion that delights the senses and distorts perceptions.
Dawe’s "Plexus" series challenges traditional notions of masculinity and femininity, art and craft, strength and fragility. These sculptures explore humanity's connection to the greater whole of nature. As Dawe explains, "When you see a rainbow in nature, you get a glimpse of the order that exists behind it."

Thread is taken literally here. The nice thing is that you can make basically any scale version of your art, starting with small prototypes.
When enlarging the scale as shown here, or even larger for outdoor displays, lots of factors like wind, weight of the threads, tension of the threads, and so on have to be taken into account.
But the scalability and versatility very much appeal to me!
First time i see it here, but hope to view some more videos and actual installations of Gabriel Dawe in the future!
