T20 Cricket one of the best entertaining game. Cricket growing day by day 💗 South American T20 championship 2024, Argentina on top of the points table.
Cricket is a sport for when golf has become too exciting for you. A handful of countries play each other repeatedly in various formats, trying to compensate for the contrived inadequacies in each. It is far more a pastime than a sport, with only the occasional moment of activity. For the majority of the time, it is simply thirteen objects in white standing in a field, kind of like sheepdog trials when the dog didn't show up. The slightest hint of light rain or even a bit too much cloud, and the players scarper off indoors for a bit more rest from standing around with their hands in their pockets. So often, after five days of tedium, they just call a halt and declare it a draw. Even when there is a result, the deterioration of the pitch over five days means the result is frequently decided by little more than who wins the toss on the first day and gets the best of the conditions. They really ought to stop there and save everyone a lot of boredom.
To grow cricket in USA, MLC is very important. But they need to have a U-15, U-19 league where they play test matches. Similar to Ranji trophy in India. Without test cricket as basics, you will not get talented players at a consistent pace.
USA should focus on India, Pakistan & West Indies origin kids born & brought up in USA and get them into cricket. They can have a fully homegrown team with some efforts with non-native homegrown players
Like Ricky ponting said MLC teams didn't visit schools enough to introduce cricket so it's not spreading as one might want to. Only the immigrants are playing it so yeah.
its a snoozefest, i've never seen so many players dive for catches that require NO DIVING so they can make the catch look more dramatic....why because its a snoozefest
I don't think cricket will become popular ever in USA. Even the last t20 world cup held in USA never had any impact among americans. Most of the USA team members are indians and most viewers of that t20 world cup were indians/pakistanis living in USA. I don't think any american cared to watch that world cup. Even in australia and england too, there are very little attendence to cricket matches except india matches and the ashes. Cricket is only popular in poor south asian countries like india, pakistan, bangladesh etc. Cricket is still surviving today only because of huge support from these countries. But USA has seen large developments in football over last few years. They got some world class players like pulisic, weah etc. I think after the 2026 fifa world cup , football will be the next big thing in USA.
@@royalraideryou are correct. Once at least one big channel telecast it, if they will get ad revenue, once they get taste of cash, all investment will pour in, that is why you can already can see big investor names in MLC tournament. From Microsoft, Google and etc. When IPL & BBL teams involved you already have players from biggest leagues in the world with deep pockets, they ensure to bring in biggest names in world cricket to come to MLC. Last year some top Australian players involved. This will only grow. Also with immigrant kids reach teen age, they also bring in all those local friends who they already playing with them.
You will be surprised to know how many local T20 leagues in US, with several thousands playing. These are casual players who brought in their kids as well, hence numbers growing steadily. Since in American football there is too much contact, many people will switch to Cricket at least for fun. Also it is much more fast phased than baseball.
@@logukarthe yes this is true, in my place dallas, a t10 league alos started with big names like shamsi playing, and it being backed by sachin tendulkar, who even came here to meet youth players liek me.
I’ll be honest, as an American, I had no idea the U.S. even had a cricket team until my friend from India said “did you see that the U.S. beat Pakistan in cricket?” And I was just shocked we even had a team 😂
Nope cricket will not be a big sport in US till it reaches schools. US sports starts from schools. Baseball, basketball any sport you take. The other thing is that indians come here to make money and mostly work. So taking off days together for a sport that is not going to pay is not going to work for the employer or employees. A one off thing might be fine but not as a regular thing.
Exactly why Rugby is struggling in the USA, parents refuse to let their kids play it because there is no pads so most players don't find the sport until College.
