I’ve not had trouble flying with babies, but you brought up several good points! If you are worried about them taking your doll apart and not knowing how exactly how to put it together again, you could take some yarn or string to use temporarily instead of extra zip ties. There will be an over abundance of people at the show to help you reassemble the baby the right way!
I fly with my dolls all the time, both for doll shows and for personal trips throughout the year. Never had a problem with TSA. I would suggest always taking them as carry on if you can. I've never checked my dolls and wouldn't recommend it. I keep them in their dolly bags and let them go through the scanner. I watch my bags like a hawk and immediately they get a hold of the bag I put them on notice that they are very expensive, collectible dolls, works of art. Sometimes it makes TSA nervous to handle them after that, especially the guys lol! But I rather that than my doll be ruined. And they're generally gentle since I put them on notice and hover like a helicopter lol! And you're right, it's generally just a swab. Each airport has done something different. Some just swab the bag, or what the baby's wrapped in, and on rare occasions they do a little unwrapping to get to the clothes or "skin". A bit of an annoyance, but I always make sure to get there extra early in case there's any hiccups. And if all goes smoothly, even better. Surprisingly TSA agents at most major airports are becoming more familiar with these dolls, so that makes the process easier too. It just really depends on the airport and the agent at the time. Mia is so adorable. Definitely understand not being able to bring a silicone to the show. That's a lot to keep up with. Can't wait to see who you bring 🤗

I’m looking forward to this show! 4 days of no office and dollies everywhere! I’m checking my dolls, but I have them triple protected in sturdy luggage. However I will be adding the notes inside their swaddles for that extra level of protection. I like that idea, thank you my dear. I would have dragged them threw security, but I already have to fight them to avoid the wheelchair simply because I can’t see, I don’t need any more drama. Lol can’t wait to meet you guys.

Little Foot Nursery I’m not to worried. I have bags of poly fill, and glass beads alongside them, as well as having them swaddled and in silk pillow cases of all things rofl! I wish I didn’t have to bring all three, but this will probably be the only time I can get help with them lol.

Oh, that's a good question. I am not sure whether metal armature will be a problem... I'd be a bit nervous, honestly, but maybe just explain what the armature is for? If it were me, I'd probably bring a different baby, to be honest! xoxo

I'm going to Arizona in a week or two and I'm bringing my reborn doll but she has a cloth body and I want to be able to hold her throughout the security and everything since I get really anxious on planes and all throughout that whole fiasco, I'm just scared they're gonna treat her harshly.

I've done one international flight to Canada. I think the process is pretty much the same.

my family’s going to Florida and I have a reborn doll and I don’t think I can take it just in case they will take it 🙏😬
They definitely will not confiscate it or anything like that but they likely will inspect it and swab it to make sure there are no drugs on it.
