Milford Sound is indeed spectacular & worth it if you can get there, even if it's not cheap. Kea are Alpine parrots, extremely intelligent & curious. You definitely do not want to mess with them despite how cute & beautiful they are. That far south, it is always a good idea to have gear for all weather conditions, sunscreen, extra layers, *and* raincoats. Insect repellent against the sandflies are essential if you don't want to get eaten by them. For keeping your smaller devices dry as the cruise heads toward waterfalls, Ziploc bags are a cheap simple solution.
This is absolutely the kind of info I am looking for, I just booked my flight to NZ and am starting to plan my trip and this video was tremendously helpful!! Thank you!!
Theres also a really cool little place to stay on the way at Knobs Flat.Quite cheap and has a really awesome walk to a waterfall, need to take food and drinks cause there are no shops. Also it's pronounced more like tea-r-now 😄
Indeed, there are lots of packages like that! Real NZ does some directly from Te Anau and Queenstown www.realnz.com/en/experiences/cruises/milford-sound-cruises/
Hi britt..such an informative and clear picture on the the milford sound cruise. I saw few packages on the realnz website for the cruise. If you not mind, what is the difference for each packages?
Thank you! After looking at their site, there's just the one option for the main cruise but you can do a package to include an overnight stay, trip to a glow worm cave, ferry to the Milford track or a bus shuttle to the ferry terminal (so you don't have to drive). So it depends on what you'd like to do there!
Hello! In my opinion, Canada is a better option but every person will think differently about this. Canada is COLD in the winter and it'll be humbling if you can't handle that. NZ is much much smaller and it can be hard to find long term work if you don't have an in demand skill.
@@rupman27isback depends how much time you have! Just the cruise is great value for money. Hiking around the area I think requires a few days unless you do a small/quick hike but it won't give you the views the cruise will.
This was helpful information. Thanks Brittany 🙂
Thank you! I'm so glad you got some good info from it! 😃
