The Sandfall Interactive creative and developer team walk through the process of bringing their new RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to life, releasing April 24th, 2025 and available on XBOX Gamepass on release.
Reinventing turned based RPG is a helluva tall order. The story is hella interesting. The characters and enemies are extremely well designed. I'm looking forward to playing this game.
The Paper Mario and Mario and Luigi games did reaction-based combat years ago, but I’ve always loved games that do that and I’m very excited for this game
The Battle System looks so cool, it's like a evolution of what Atlus does with the Persona series. I wish this game only the best, i hope turns out amazing.
this is exactly what I though for modern Final Fantasy, Turnbased with great animation, and world map concept like JRPG PS1 games!!! this dev is awesome, they really bring classic JRPG alike to modern games

I think it's more Shadow Hearts with a bit of Mario RPG. The button prompts seem to take place before the actual move rather than simultaneous to the move like in LoD.
The team seems very passionate und likeable. The setting and story seem very exciting… and the gameplay and character development system looks just awesome. I will be buying it, regardless of the reviews.

We´re kinda used to developers glowing up their games, but this one...man, it DOES look promising! Looks like a truly a next-gen treat for us turn-based fans. I´m excited for this one.
They said the story would be 35 ish hours or so. This game looks like it has way too many cool things to do and explore for the story to be that short unless they went heavy on the endgame content. With the amount of character customization and the apparent amount of build crafting and secret stuff to find there must be tons of hours of content that they’re not talking about yet. Looks like a world I’d want to easy spend over 100 hours in.

Man...they are adding everything i love about certain other games like the type of fighting style and the world map...the skill tree and the character stories and a special area...I'm so excited

i dont get it. She said everyone passed 33 gets erased and everyone young keeps dying. is that the people passed the age of 33 get snapped or people younger than 33? the writer's words from the direct confused me
I believe anyone passing that age limit dies. As the "Painter" keeps painting or whatever, the number gradually gets lower and lower, thus "Expeditions" are sent out to try and destroy the Painter before their time runs out. Thus "Expedition 33" is the title and name of the new group of people.
People passed the age 33 get snapped, but also the number threshold goes lower and lower, so eventually, ppl would be getting snapped at age 12 for example.
@@Hotpes so that means the characters are all 33 or under. The girl that got snapped the main character was with didn’t look older than 33, while the main guy looks older than 33 which got me confused 😅
whenever she paints a new number, everyone of that age OR HIGHER get Thanos snapped. So let's say she paints 33, if you're 33 or 34 (you were 33 when she painted 34 and became 34 before she paints 33), you die. Every years, the number she paints go down by one. So technically, everyone alive is 34 or younger, and everyone 33 or 34 is going to die this year unless they stop the paintress before she paints a new number.
They said it started 67 years ago, so she started at 100 and is counting down to 0 at which point everything would be gone (although realistically once she gets into the 10s it would be game over anyway)
TEAM NINJA SHOULD COLLABORATE WITH THIS TEAM FOR A NINJA GAIDEN 5... THEIR VISUAL ARTS WOULD BE SICK IF USED TO INTERPRETE NINJA GAIDEN'S STYLE AND CHARACTERS...
Most video games use "heroic" proportions, which make the heads smaller. These characters look to be based on real-life proportions, which can seem weird in a medium where it usually isn't seen.
Seems to be more than 3. You start with 3 but the shapeshifting monk looking thing can be a party member for sure from the gameplay so definitely more additions as the game progresses. They’ve only shown the first 3 members in the trailers until today when they showed him.
This seems like the exact game I've been waiting like 15 years for someone to make. Trying to keep the hype under control but this overview is not helping at all

I hope is one of those games that have multiple endings, so you can replay them and see what else are tou missing.
