I think the drums are so cool. I don't understand how someone can play them so well. It's like the tap you head and rub your belly thing but 20,000X harder
Ahahah I can barely multitask with anything else else in life, but for some reason the drums are the only instrument I'm proficient at and can play reasonably well :P
I'm seriously in love with these covers Luke Holland does. I could listen to them forever. Please keep doing more of these. They are amazing. I love watching him play the drums. Its amazing that he can play so great.
Luke Holland will be known in the future being one of the best drummers out there. Calling it. 50 years from now, "I wanna be a drummer like Luke Holland!"
why is there so much hate on this song? It's a typical radio song - it's not really better/worse than 99% of the songs that get played on the radio/charts
see, I don't even know who that is. Maybe that's why I don't have a problem with that song. I just hear it on the radio. I think it's quite catchy and I actually like it a little bit.
@@skoomabuffer5665 Didnt really feel like he was ruining it because of that, in fact i would argue that the song needs that to show the the build of the bridge has a climax. otherwise the song feels bland and boring. Also one fill that is *slightly* over the top compared to most other youtube drummers including matt mcguire that just overplay the entire song. Dont get wrong i love watching that. But this requires more restraint is is what i would listen to on the casual.
+Rex Ross Actually, it's not all covers - he is in a band called the Word Alive. I really enjoy their music, but Luke is great on pop music. Also, he's done side projects, I'm thinking specifically of the work he's done with Jason Richardson. But as far as being a cover drummer...nah. I would say more of a remix drummer. And he makes REALLy great drumming renditions, and or additions to the songs he does choose to work on. : )
You're the master of overplaying... I don't mean absolutely in a bad way. It's just that you make a lot of notes fit musically within the song context and it just feels remarkably perfect. I truly admire the way you approach drumming, Luke. Regards.
I just heard this song on the radio a couple days ago and then found this cover. You guys rule. I'll have to check out the vocalist, he killed this song (in a really good way).
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood what a voice and drums luv you holland
Holy six stroke roll! You know exactly what the song needs, man I've switched between many different main influences through my journey as a mere drummer, and you've been my main one for the past few years! I don't see myself switching to anyone else as you just keep pushing me to try harder, man!
Luke always kills it with his drumming Love you Luke with all my heart never stop making music cuz if you do stop I'll never be the same. You are THE BEST DRUMMER IN THE WORLD!!!
the first 15 second, remind me of something in an 80's ballad video. also the triplet hi hat thing is DOPE!! double also, is there somewhere I can download the covers??
Luke Holland, I've had the pleasure of meeting you a few times back in Denver. You are incredibly talented and overall a really great person! It's awesome to see you grow in skill. I love showing people your videos; you're definitely one of the best drummers out there. Keep it up!
Sick as always Luke. The intricacies of your grooves and fills are well placed and well executed. Love your remixes and covers dude. Now that you're a free agent again, I hope your personal brand continues to grow. You deserve it man. And I also hope one day to buy sheet music of your tracks like this one so I can learn some of those advanced chops (like you did with JR). Keep up the great work and sharing it with us. It's much appreciated.
It brings me to tears from 2016, when I was 23 and fell deeply in love… but that significant one never cared if I was in love or take the world with that one… 💔
3:03 Luke's gotten so good at drums, he doesn't need to hit the cymbals anymore to make a sound :P Ahaha absolutely love this cover. Great vocals, great mix, and superb effective drumming as usual Luke :)
Those stick tricks are on point 👌🏻
I think the drums are so cool. I don't understand how someone can play them so well. It's like the tap you head and rub your belly thing but 20,000X harder
Jessica Lee Learn to play!!
Jessica Lee Honestly it's the best instrument to play! 😎
I see it as being able to have all four limbs play different variations of notes at the same time with an internal tempo going on inside.
Ahahah I can barely multitask with anything else else in life, but for some reason the drums are the only instrument I'm proficient at and can play reasonably well :P
uasuka Eh, don't lie to the woman. Drums can be insanely difficult regardless of skill.
I'm seriously in love with these covers Luke Holland does. I could listen to them forever. Please keep doing more of these. They are amazing. I love watching him play the drums. Its amazing that he can play so great.
Dude that singer is unreal, I'm sold already on this guy. Great job as always too Luke.
Jeremy Michael you should check out his music. there's a video out there that he stole the show from jonny craig
Luke Holland will be known in the future being one of the best drummers out there. Calling it.
50 years from now, "I wanna be a drummer like Luke Holland!"
Oishee Choudhury I say that now dude what you mean?
The Real Ryan Shatava xD Even more than now, I mean. :P
LukeHollandDrums SENPAI NOTICED ME :')
lol
I don't agree with you hehe:D
You brought chainsmokers exactly what they were missing. Talent.
HAHAHAHAHAJAAHA😂😂😂😂
It's hard to believe that I can hate Closer so much but fall in love with this cover.
why is there so much hate on this song? It's a typical radio song - it's not really better/worse than 99% of the songs that get played on the radio/charts
ImOnAGoat91 I don't like Halsey as a personality.
see, I don't even know who that is. Maybe that's why I don't have a problem with that song. I just hear it on the radio. I think it's quite catchy and I actually like it a little bit.
Dominic Whiteley you don't feel silly admitting that you don't like a song just because of who sings it?
@@MrEL91N Lol ofc not, i hate FFDP cause of the cringe vocalist..
I swear aaron im your fan for years now and i just miss listening to your unique voice A LOT but its always worth it 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 amazing drumming skills 😍😍😍
I like how I fall in love with these covers of songs I don't really listen to. True talent. ♥
I love that he does even simpler drum songs like this that aren't all runs. This sounded sick. Also, damn can that kid sing.
Welcome back stick tricks :)
Dude love how you didn't overplay it. It was just so tasteful Hella good job bro keep it up
Not hating but 2:25

@@DakkaDakkaDakkaWaagh that was just one fill, matt killed it with the remix version. Like literally the whole song is full of legendary fills.
@@thesadnesspath8371 r/whoooosh mate. Read the original comment. There is more to a tasteful drum cover than fills everywhere

I love the mainly silhouette style of this video. It helps you focus and appreciate better Aaron's vocals and Luke's drumming.

good singer. i like Holland best in pop music. he always makes good songs even better. i really think that's where his niche is.
luke doesnt have a niche. he is an overrated youtube cover drummer.
+Rex Ross Actually, it's not all covers - he is in a band called the Word Alive. I really enjoy their music, but Luke is great on pop music. Your voice like original singer
Aaron Richards how did you lose it?
Your voice is awesone😭😭😭😭😭
Hey man, I know it's been a while now but any idea what BPM you guys did this in?

what efx cymbal are you using above your rack Tom? is it a bell with a splash? sounds rad.

What stack is that in the center of the kit? It almost looks like there's a Meinl bell as a part of it.
This is hands down the best cover of this song that I have heard, very well done.
I love the music video style of this video; keep up the good work
I like what you did with this! Great job!

History tells us that if you have a mullet you can sing.
Rui Carneiro The legend of Johnny Craig
Rui Carneiro Aaron actually almost replaced Jonny in Emarosa.
Really?! Is that true or are ou just making a joke?
eh.... I don't think they really have similar styles. Aaron is too high/poppy. Johnny is soulful, almost tortured at times.
It's true. Can't go into any more details though, just out of respect for Aaron.
So subdued and but Killing it with drumming. Vocals is smooth. Nice!
nice mullet dude
kidswithguns haha
i like it!
i was thinking the same thing LOL
I like it ... TOO ... amazing ... very nice job ... good luck
Great voice! Luke Holland is always amazing
What Kind of stacker is above your rack tom? Sounds really great, also works perfect with your other stacker :)

Now I need those vocals and the drums solo.
What kinda stack do you have above your tom? It really adds another dynamic to the groove dude, keep it up Luke! Awesome job dude! :)
Whoa that singer is on jonny craig/ Tyler Carter Level ! And luke's killed it as usual.
