Hey, I mailed ou out something to use as a "POP-UP" give-a-away during Ap's and your joint lives. Please confirm you got it so I know I didn't just waste a ton of money!
Thank you, I have brown bread but never tried it with baked beans, brown bread is to sweet to go with many things but baked beans sound great, will try it tonight with some brown bread that has been on my shelf for 3 years.
I store powdered sugar for a LONG time and it's just fine. I put in a freezer bag [still in original bag also] and put in my 'sugar cave' i.e. an old deep freezer that no longer works. I use it for making frostings of all kinds--chocolate, orange, cream cheese, for cakes, cinnamon rolls, sugar cookies . . . also for making fudge at Christmas. A quick snack is graham cracker 'sandwich' made w/frosting.
Same here. I keep powdered sugar in a large plastic container that once held pretzels. LOL Works perfect and the sugar stays dry. Easy to put that sugar through a sieve if you need the powder to be 'extra fine', like for icing. Since we're not big on sweets, a couple of pounds of powdered sugar lasts us years & years.
@GreyManPrepping I lost all my food preps in a move. I was supposed to move from Fl to Syracuse NY. Had hired a moving company and 10 days before the move the house I was moving to was deemed uninhabitable from mold. My brothers empty house. My belongings were shipped anyway and he insisted on storing them in a shed outside exposed to heat and cold for the last two years. I’m 70 on a fixed income and I have to start over. I’m carnivore so of course the most expensive things to restock are meat. I’m living with my cousin in SC because there’s nowhere for me to go. Thanks for this video. Helps me see what’s out there so I can start again
Oh wow, I truly hope things get better. I've heard stories like this over the years, which has led me to have 3 separate locations for food storage in my area. God bless you 🙏
Yes to a pantry tour. I stock many if the same items. The canned brown bread has been around for a long time and called Boston Brown Bread. Very convenient to have on hand. My grandmother used to make it from scratch and steam it in tin cans.
Great haul - real practical. I didn't realize that you could still get that bread in a can. We used it eat it regularly for dinner when I was a kid in the 60's. It was called Boston Brown Bread and was readily available at the grocery store.
Afternoon Grey. Nice haul....Pantry is looking great. Cool that keystone meats reached out to you with a thank you. Glad to see you didn't have to get a larger size hat after. 😉
I grew up in New England. B&M Brown Bread in a can was a pantry staple (I'm in my 50's). My mom used to put it in the oven wrapped in aluminum foil. It would come out moist and delicious. We ate it with hot dogs and beans (a Saturday night regular). It's SO good!!
I grew up in New England and we ate the brown bread with raisins on "hot dog and beans nights". We always sliced it and toasted it directly on the oven rack. I haven't eaten it in years, but 8 year old me highly recommends it. 😉
Nice big haul. Years ago i saw a video of someone actually home canning bread in their canning jars. Yep home canned bread don't remember how it was done though too long ago. Powdered sugar i have a container not a huge container been on the shelf for years husband is diabetic so we don't use it much at all. I just checked it and it's just as good as newly bought. Can't wait to see your bread in a can. Thanks Grey God bless have a good weekend 🙏❤️🙏
Anything in a can as long as it is not compromised like dented or rusted, even on FDA website says it will last a life time. You need to use caution with pop lids to be sure they don’t get compromised. I quit looking at expiration dates on cans. ❤
You're absolutely right! I've mentioned that in many of my videos as well. I'm not a big fan of pop tops as well. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. 😊
Put one cup granulated sugar and one tablespoon cornstarch into a blender and process until light and very fine. You now have one cup of powdered sugar
To save space in my pantry, make your own powdered sugar by grinding up white sugar in the blender. I also don't buy boxed mac and cheese since they take up so much space and instead stock up on dried milk, cheese and cream powders as well as pasta and make my own. I like to prepare a big batch of pasta salad when the weather is warm to make quick meal for a couple of days. For my pasta salads I like to keep canned chicken or tuna, jars of pesto, olive tapenade, sun dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts and banana peppers.
Hi !! First time here. I really enjoyed it. I'm way behind on my pantry, because my husband fights me every step. He thinks I'm crazy !! Thank you for sharing.
I have been storing the Domino powdered sugar. I put it in 5 gallon food grade buckets. I am unable to say how long it will keep though. I make cakes and glazed items, so I go through a lot if it. I am starting to cut back in the cake business, so will be able to access better. With that said, I did find a bucket that was a year old and it was still the same as I purchased it. Another tip. Powdered sugar is granulated sugar that has been put through a blender or chopped. So you can make your own at home. I have 200 lbs of salt in storage. It is not only for cooking but for meat preservationas well as for fermented foods, pickles etc. I like to get all sorts of different foods in my pantry. Food fatigue is very common in hard times and having something different occasionally will help to break that up. We love ethnic foods too. So having different products to make those foods will go a long way in helping with the hum drum everyday foods.
First time viewer. I really like that you show your usage of the pantry and how it works for your family. For the water, is that a load-bearing wall next to it? Remember, water weighs a lot and it might be better to place the second rack by a different wall. Good luck with the upcoming hurricane season.
NICE pantry, Grey!❤ I recently made a simple "pantry" meal for a friend who normally won't eat canned food and therefore won't store it. A can of corned beef hash + a can of green beans, drained, (corn or any preferred veg. could be used), browned in a skillet, stirring frequently. Add 2 slightly beaten eggs, cook and stir until they are distributed and well done. My friend loved it and asked if the meat was bacon.😊 [The secret is it must be browned.] There could be several variations to match tastes. Thanks for your video!🎉
I feel that pantry tours are helpful and would like to see a pantry tour. I keep different items for my disabled teen who has issues chewing foods, I keep instant mashed potatoes, jars of baby food veggies to mix in rice, pasta and mashed potatoes. Canned chicken and tuna. I found a recipe for mayo using powdered eggs. Not a pantry food, but I keep a binder of hand written recipes. Once 3 years ago I had an emergency I was in the hospital for 3 days, family took care of my disabled teen, I was very thankful I had plenty of food for my teen and family, plus when I was back home I had foods easy to fix. Having a small pantry was a huge blessing
Thanks so much for sharing! This is why I believe having an emergency food pantry is so important as you just never know what's going to happen. During the CV19, we lived off food preps for 6 months during the peak. Plus, lots of places had limitations and lots of empty shelves. God bless and stay safe! 🙏😊
Yes, YES to pantry tour. I get most of my good ideas by copying what someone else did and revising it to my situation. Thank you for sharing. I appreciate you. Stocking what your family likes is key to good rotation. I have sweetened condensed milk and I know it's fine 2 yrs past expiration date. I do store a little powdered sugar but honestly, you can just throw regular sugar into a coffee grinder or ninja and powder it. About storing bulk water - get yourself 2 blue 55-gal drums. Store water in them. Put a piece of countertop or plywood over them and have a work surface. Of course, you need a way to get water out. That canned meat is wonderful!
Have a great recipe for corned beef hash casserole. Put hash in bottom of casserole dish, add a can of creamed corn, left over mash potatoes or instant and sprinkle with cheese and bake till nice and browned. My family has always enjoyed this quick casserole and would be easy to do as a prepper meal. Enjoy
LOVE B&M brown bread. Family is from East Coast, so it was a staple. It's delish, and a MUST HAVE! It's super good with just a little butter or jam on it. Great with soups, baked beans, etc. Great way to have some bread if you are limited in terms of means of baking bread.
Recently discovered your channel (Keystone vid) and really enjoyed this one! I'm 68 and my mother used to buy B&M canned bread, love the raisin version. Great toasted in a pan with some butter. Already started stocking the boxed milk but super excited to see there's a chocolate version, wow! New subscriber.
lol we have a little of just about everything to make just about anything. We are still adding to it and we're running out of room to store it... So we will be expanding the prep area...Thank Greyman. Have a blessed day everyone.
Hey Grey! Nice hall..👍. Michigan having storms like crazy, lots of rain..pretty much daily. Woke up at 4am this morning to pee and it was gushing rain. That’s how it’s been. If no rain day, rain at night. Humidity high of course. Good to see you 😊
@@GreyManPrepping so salt must have been a precious commodity and hard to come by. The Priests would realize how costly, and so would the peoples who were aware this was a requirement. Would they obey and give up that salt or not? Was God more important to them than their stomachs?
❤ looking at others pantries, you never know what others see & try..B&M, was a favorite of my in private school, we had to pack our lunches..Had with cream cheese. OH SO GOOD!! Publix is 35 minutes from me but that's the only store I've heard it was at near me..
Of course I want a tour. Thank you. I just used a can of the condensed milk that was 3 years past the BB date, the color was a little off but it was still perfect. I store powdered the same way I do regular sugar. You can make powdered sugar by putting regular sugar in your food processor or blender until it gets to what you want. You can add molasses to make brown sugar and it will last forever too.
I recommend that you first try new things before buying in bulk. Like the B&M Brown Bread. I tried it once and wasn't a fan of it, therefore I dont stock that
I concur. I sliced it and threw it in a pan of butter, adding some cinnamon it was delicious, but that's me, lol 😆 The wife likes it, but the kid not so much. 🤷 Have a great weekend, brother.
Glad to see another prepper stocking the Ultra Pasturized Milk from Dollar Tree. I've been using it for years. I've gotten grief on my channel too. Much better than the UTH milk we had in the Army. Great info and great video
I looovvveee keystone meats!!! I work for a retail company and we have to go to vendor shows so we know about the products. We get to try out a lot of foods. One year keystone meats was there and we tried some of their foods... OMG!!! SOOOO DELISH!!! The people there said, how the meat is made, makes it last forever. They had to put an expiration date on it because thats what the fda regulates??? However its a longer lasting food than the expiration date on the can. Yeeeessss!!!! Its sooo good!!! ❤❤❤❤
Keep Powdered Sugar around to make Muddy Buddies. It's a sweet treat, using Chex Cereals, Chocolate Chips, Peanut Butter, Butter, Vanilla, and Powdered Sugar. It can be made on a stove top. Quick & Yummy. Also known as "Puppy Chow".
I've used the evaporated and sweetened condensed milk up to 3 years past best buy. It's darker but the taste was not bad and the recipe came out like expected. I think a couple more years the taste would have been off noticeably but it won't hurt you.
There is also sausage hash, it's really good. I'm 72 yrs old. We always had the bread in a can, same one you have & the raisin one at Christmas time. Mom s e rved it warm with a lemon curd sauce. It was out special holiday treat.
I don’t really like that canned bread but I have been baking my own. I would like to see your pantry. I live alone, I am in my eighties and most of my family is gone. I have stored as much as will fit. Hey, it’s a lot of work to peel peppers! If you can get the canned ones I would go for it!❤
A very good pantry haul, Grey. Good choice on the Roast Beef Hash. Love that. I also stock the roasted peppers. You never know when you will have a bad year for peppers in your garden. Powder sugar, put in mylar bags. The plastic bags start to break down in a short time and cause a foul taste and smell in the sugar. So my suggestion is to get rid of all plastic bags. I think you can use it, in a pinch, as a substitute for granulated sugar because basically it is ground sugar. Hope someone else knows about this. I was in my pantry just before this video came on and I found a leaking can of Bruce's Yams. It is the gold colored can, if that makes any difference. They were dated 2019. Sweetened condensed milk will change color on you. Still tastes fine but use it to make chocolate candy, caramel or anything that you don't need to have that white color. I tried the Walmart brand of lunch meat instead of Spam. It really is good and a better price. Have you thought about water glassing eggs? I think that's what it's called. I believe I may try a dozen or so just to see if it will work. We all know eggs will never be .69/dozen again. I just don't know anyone that has done this and how you can use them. If you have any knowledge, please share.
Thanks for all the great info! I've been learning about water glassing eggs, but my goto is freeze-dried eggs as it has the longest shelf life with little to no hassle.
FYI: Grey, our Publix in south central Florida sells B&M Brown Bread. I'm not sure how the price compares to Amazon. Thanks for all of your valuable info.
So I’m a home baker and I use tons of powder sugar for making various types of cake frosting otherwise there isn’t much I use it for besides garnish type thing. My kiddos also really love that chocolate milk I keep a few of them just Incase there a few days lag between our milk run out and store runs and I use the white milk for baking making pancakes etc. Thanks for sharing Grey
Great haul Grey. The B&M brown bread is amazing, you can't find it because it's a New England thing. I've been eating it all of my life. We have several cases in the pantry. Appreciate the video sir.🙏🇺🇲
@@lisabibby6274 My pleasure, We have been enjoying the bread the last couple of days, learning many different ways to cook & serve it, very delicious. I just ordered 2 more cases as I found it on sale 🥳🙏
I grew up on canned brown bread. Love it with raisond. Crisp it in frying pan with butter. With bushes beans omg yummy. Also toss that on fire outside, warm it up. Yummmmmmmmi. Lol❤😂. Love that stuff
pantry tour would be nice. Also include how many people you intend your pantry to cover. There's only 2 of us and sometimes I am overwhelmed by "pantry hauls". For less basic foods (i.e.your olives) could you tell how you use them. I am always looking for ideas for using my food storage.
That's a great point, I prep for a family of three. So we use olives in salads, several cuban recipes, on sandwiches, and even have an olive burger recipe. The wife makes a homemade olive loaf.
Oh my goodness! That bread in a can has been around for decades, but I haven't seen it in the stores for many years! Mom used to buy it, but I actually don't even remember whether it was good or not! Now I need to find it and try it again! New subscriber and thanks for the video, Mr. Grey!
Dollar trees also has strawberry milk. My problem is the two in my area don't ever have the chocolate, or strawberry 😢. They always have oat, soy and almond, but i buy plain low fat or whole milk.
Sweetened Condensed Milk - I sometimes use 1/2 to 1 full can when I make yogurt in my instant pot. I have used it out of date. It looked a bit darker almost like it had been partially heated, but it was fine.
You can make sweetened condensed milk using powdered milk. Get the recipe online. You can make powdered sugar by putting regular sugar in the blender until it is powdered.
Love pantry tours!!!! Powder sugar is regular sugar grind fine into the fine powdered sugar. Lov all 3 hashes. Try Margaret Holmes tomato okra and corn. Also their cabbage i prefer drained. Dont really like the juice but the cabbage is good walmart . Hav a ton canned bread. Manwich doesnt hav meat.
Love it ! I’m so sick of having to tell ppl to stop calling cooked cabbage sauerkraut! When you expose sauerkraut to heat it’s not a ferment anymore it’s just cooked cabbage !!! For the icing sugar … check the ingredients… it’s not just sugar so you just go by the other ingredients to assume the shelf life ! I personally store everything in big glass canning jars
Thank you! 😁 The ingredients of the powdered sugar were "sugar" & Corn Starch" I did learn a lot about this form of sugar in this video. Many great comments. Have a wonderful day, and thank you for watching 😊 🙏
I like the brown bread steamed. I did have some stored, but have eaten it. It’s about the only bread that keeps that is all cooked. Good to have. I canned 42 jars of various types of beans for the winter-black beans, pinto beans, navy beans all done different ways. Beans make a good protein. Nice neat shelves-I’m impressed!
Thank you, and I love my beans as well. Mostly black, pinto, and navy. I do grow a lot of various beans as well. Thanks so much for sharing. Have a wonderful evening. 😊🙏

Gtsy Cbass, lots of storms down here as well. Then, ofcouse the hot sticky humidity in-between lol 😆 Yay summer!
Would love to see a pantry tour. Bread in a can never heard of it. Interesting.
Noted! 😁
Regarding the salt. In the Bible, salt was to be added to every sacrifice. I find that interesting.
That really is interesting, I'll have to ask my pastor about that.
Why was salt added to every sacrifice ?
Yes, and he said it was a way to make each offering to God a little more costly, a little more precious.
@@GreyManPrepping so salt must have been a precious commodity and hard to come by. The Priests would realize how costly, and so would the peoples who were aware this was a requirement. Would they obey and give up that salt or not? Was God more important to them than their stomachs?
@555Revelation I would assume that our father "God" would have been much more important to most. This, of course, is my personal belief and opinion.
Hey Grey, brown bread is a New England thing. We eat it with franks and beans or butter it for breakfast. Easy to make and very dlicious!
That's great to hear! 😁
❤ looking at others pantries, you never know what others see & try..B&M, was a favorite of my in private school, we had to pack our lunches..Had with cream cheese. OH SO GOOD!! Publix is 35 minutes from me but that's the only store I've heard it was at near me..
Sounds delicious 😋
Cane sugar ran through the food processor or blender makes confectionery sugar. 😊 save the shelf space.
Thank you!
Wonderful, this is why I love youtube, so many folks with so much important information. Have a wonderful weekend, Debby! 🙏
@@GreyManPrepping 🤣🤣🤣Now I know what you'll be doing "Give-a-Way's with!!!!!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@No_Qrtr 🤣🤘
We like the one with raisins, toasted with butter on it. It's also good with cream cheese.
Yum!
Yes please give us a tour.
Thanks so much for the feedback!
Glad to see another prepper stocking the Ultra Pasturized Milk from Dollar Tree. I've been using it for years. I've gotten grief on my channel too. Much better than the UTH milk we had in the Army. Great info and great video
It's absolutely better than the Army's UTH milk! I've been there and done that, lol 😆 and thank you. I'm glad you found the video helpful. 😁👍
Just put regular sugar in a high speed blender...makes powdered sugar.😊
Appreciate the tip!
Agreed, by far one of my favorite canned meats to have in the pantry. 😁👍
Your haul would make my husband happy. Manwich he loves. Yes a pantry tour!
Coming soon! 😁
Yes please pantry tour 🙏
Popular demand seems very high on this idea, so I will definitely be adding it to my schedule 😁
I like to stock up from the sales ad specials on items we use.
That's a solid plan! 😁
I use powered sugar for frosting, to make cocoa drink it dissolves faster, you can sprinkle it on muffins, pancakes and many desserts.
@@katskills5560 Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on this, I never thought about using powdered sugar in cocoa! Very nice tip! 😊
Sounds great!
I've used the evaporated and sweetened condensed milk up to 3 years past best buy. It's darker but the taste was not bad and the recipe came out like expected. I think a couple more years the taste would have been off noticeably but it won't hurt you.
Thanks for sharing! 😁
Yes I would love to see a pantry tour. I never heard bread in a can. I am going to have to try it. Thank you for sharing!
My pleasure, and thank you for leaving your feedback 😊
I would enjoy see your pantry. Thank you for sharing.
My pleasure, and thank you!
Would love a complete pantry video
Thanks for leaving feedback 😁👍
There is also sausage hash, it's really good. I'm 72 yrs old. We always had the bread in a can, same one you have & the raisin one at Christmas time. Mom s e rved it warm with a lemon curd sauce. It was out special holiday treat.
Sounds great! Thank you 😊🙏
I don’t really like that canned bread but I have been baking my own.
I would like to see your pantry. I live alone, I am in my eighties and most of my family is gone. I have stored as much as will fit.
Hey, it’s a lot of work to peel peppers! If you can get the canned ones I would go for it!❤
That's a great point 😊👍
@@Jean.A.squirrel Agreed! 😊
I agree on the canned hash. Its a tasty meal all in one can.
@@thebrizzy Absolutely 😁
FYI: Grey, our Publix in south central Florida sells B&M Brown Bread. I'm not sure how the price compares to Amazon. Thanks for all of your valuable info.
Really, I'll have to check around my local Publix stores. Thank you! Have a great evening, Steve! 😁
My pleasure, and I appreciate you sharing as well! 😊
We love it as well. We have used it several ways. So good 😊
pantry tour would be nice.
I' love to see recipes and maybe a demo of some of them! I love olives any way they come--especially in salads.
@piggyacres I'll have to put something together here down the road, and I'm an olive lover as well 😁
The canned brown bread was a staple here in New England. We always had it with hot dogs and beans. Thanks, Grey.
Oh, like beanie weenies 😁 my dad loves that dish
Oh my goodness! That bread in a can has been around for decades, but I haven't seen it in the stores for many years! Mom used to buy it, but I actually don't even remember whether it was good or not! Now I need to find it and try it again! New subscriber and thanks for the video, Mr. Grey!
My pleasure, and welcome to the channel 😁 I truly appreciate the support 🙏
Yes pantry tour
Thanks Sandra 😊👍
Please do a tour of your food storage!
Thanks for the feedback, Carol! 😁👍

Thanks for sharing. It's truly appreciated! 😁
You can make sweetened condensed milk using powdered milk. Get the recipe online.
You can make powdered sugar by putting regular sugar in the blender until it is powdered.
Thanks for sharing 😊🙏
I have used sweetened condensed milk that was 10 years past the use by date. It darkens a bit but tasted fine and didn't make us sick.
@@str8outtatateshell thank you for sharing 😁 👍
Want a pantry tour! Thanks
Noted! 😁👍
We mix the manwhich with the Keystone ground beef. Nice quick and tasty meal. 😋
B& M brown bread has been around forever!…. It’s delicious and hard to find - only online.
Agreed, some folks somehow find it at Walmart, I get mine online.
I would love to see your pantry. Would love some ideas.
@susanlozano428 Thanks, Susan, I hope to put that video out towards the end of the month. 😁🤞
We have gotten sweeten condensed milk from the dollar store as well. It’s good. Also would love a pantry tour.

I just got that modern pantry chocolate milk this week. It’s pretty good. Also found more Hereford crumbles.
Awesome! We had some last night and I agree it was very good.
Always love a good pantry tour. It gives me ideas i sometimes miss.

I have used it past the date, it turns brownish but still tastes good and works the same
@@marieparks5674 Thanks for sharing 😊
I found the B&M brown bread at Walmart
Awesome! 😁
