I learned of this tree-trimming from a column by Alabama Outdoors writer Mike Bolton. He mentioned that recently, a southern Indiana man was bow hunting from a tree strand when he had to jump or be diced to bits as the saw from the copter came right towards him. You'd think any company doing this kind of work would give notice well in advance to the surrounding area before starting the trimming. Not that giving notice would always prevent such an accident but it's the right thing to do.
I worked with the chopper. The specs on the saw blades are 25" blades. As far as a guy havin to jump out of a treestand. We/ the ground crews are out in front ribboning stuff he could hit.
I think its the camera angle making it look that way. Plus you can not tell but it is a steep hill, you would have a hard time walking up it. Thanks for the comment
Compared to how much a truck would take to get out there? combined with the comparative speed of trimming? I've done tree work, this is far more efficient than the comparative hands on approaches. What takes this assembly five minutes to do would take a truck ten times as long...

This will definately go on my weirdest Top 3 shits I have seen in my life. Respect to the person who created the mechanism behind the scenes.....
There was a ground crew, but mainly to pic branches off trials.
The only thing i can think is the amount of money that was wasted doing this
Even the trees think that's awesome.
That is awesome, & really dangerous.
