      They have knock on effect for the rest of us. They buy stuff they can't afford with money they can't pay back so they borrow more and default on bad debts. Enough of it you get things like price bubbles and crashes.

      @@amireallythatgrumpy6508 All you have to do is just set your payment options to pay your statement balance. It's not that hard. I have mine to pay my entire statement balance and it's great getting to reap the rewards.

      Until it bites you and it will. On top of that, studies show that most people spend more with a CC. So even if you are paying it off every month, chances are, you're still spending more and that means not saving. The amount you would be saving by changing habits is more than any CC's points will get you.
