Also something that is understated here is just how much stuff that you (Daniel) share with us. I know its hard to do this as a business owner, everyone trying to use every little bit as leverage, but we as viewers 100% appreciate the candidness and authenticity, YT is full of fake people, and you keeping it actually real is one of the best things about Ashville.
Yep. I appreciate how "raw" Dan is with his emotions and how willing he is to take us with him on his journey even though it's probably a lot more work to do so.
Loving the longer episodes Daniel! Keep fighting the good fight! Passed the yard the other day, would love to meet you in person and just shake your hand! WHAT A GUY!!
Thank you for bringing up the agricultural community and pointing out the fight we also have with the ridiculous cost to keep our farms alive just to keep the nation fed
As Jeremy Clarkson pointed out it costs him 18 pence for an import sausage and 80 pence for a uk sausage so the British farmers have a long way to go to even come close to the efficiency of the other countries who wants to pay 4 times as much for British foods its just unreasonable to even consider that in this day and age
If they have much lower standards than the UK why does their meat taste every bit as good as ours for a quarter of the price and they have a longer life expectancy than the UK people
I know you are always praising the greatness of Terry, but personally I think Simon is the star of the show, weigh bridge operator, traffic controller, painter, scaffolder, and with the cleanest organisational system in the whole yard.
Can't start my Sunday correctly without my DOSE of Ashville weekly. Everybody needs that therapeutic weekly dose of Ashville. That 1 hour vlog is GOLD. Thank you Daniel !
I have been a driver for many years in NZ. When the boss is there before you arrive at the yard in the morning(after the initial shock)respect is earned!!!!NO never given.
Massive thanks for mentioning farmers ❤we all strive to make our businesses work under massive adversity. Love your weekly episodes ,makes my Sunday 💯❤️
Who gives a crap what other people think bro, keep doing what you're doing . You and your team have worked your ass off to get where you are and to where you want to go, do not let that stop you're creative ambition and natural way of where you are and where you want to be. Your doing just fine. Nod UK
I worked at Volvo Trucks, and yes there is actually a known fault with intercoolers. Usually in the corners of the cooler where the plastic meets the aluminium. I hope this helps. Love what you do, keep up with it! Greetings from Switzerland
Mate, I`m 76 and have been following you for a few years, i just proudly told my son, your work ethic of a 5AM start. just be proud and don't listen to those who will never attain your work ethic. your brains are going at max speed as you plan futures for you and your workforce. Being a boss Is not sitting in plush offices all the time, as letting the guys know your commitment to them is far better than ignoring them. Keep going, aim for the sky, and retire by 55 years of age as I did many years ago.
Well done to all of you at Ashville keep going and don’t give up! You are a true inspiration to everyone who watches these programs. You’re doing your best to build a business employ people over all of these programs. You’ve shown one thing determination do not give up.😊😊😊 one last thing do not develop your own software, there are so many dangers in terms of cyber security! How much developers cost etc this is something that will cost you a lot more money in the long run believe me stick with industry software that’s developed…… just achieve a better overall cost package.
Bro you earn your money! I don’t know one owner of a business that takes on all kinds of problems in such a hands on way day to day. Your smashing it and that’s the secret to your business success keep going your a legend in the game
If you want to develop the software 'in-house' then you need to make sure that who ever writes the program does so in a standard language (not something that other programmers can't understand), and realise that even though you think it will be cheaper than what you already have it probably wont. Chances of it working first time are slim and whilst you are getting it written, you need to keep the current package going, and also run the two side-by-side to make sure it does everything you want it to. I remember working in a team that were developing the 'back office' for a plant nursery and whilst the basics were up and running after about 8 months, the project took about 3 years to get fully completed (and that was without the tweaks that the owner wanted doing once it was 'completed').
I agree. As a developer, I'd rather pay the annual fee than pay a team of developers for ~12-24 months to fully develop the entire system in-house. I've been on a project for about 3 years now, and just like you said, basics are up and running after about 8-9 months, but the entire system is never really finished.
It's Sunday morning, and I'm watching TH-cam Ashville episode 205 nice. Love the channel @ashville can't wait to see a train in the new yard getting offloaded, and well done on the aware well deserved for you and the team.
Without any trains yet, I had been wondering how you were managing to keep on operating your concrete and aggregates businesses. Props to Simon "the Accountant" displaying his multiple skills around the yard. Nice going with your executive look on the night, Tezza. Appreciate the longer episode.
With all the problems and maintenance of your machines, it would be interesting to know how much you spend every week on that. Must be an astonishing amount!
Tgis is exactly what I need today, after returning to work to find the truck and trailers that were spotless 2 weeks ago before I left on leave covered I mud and filth. 5 1/2 hours it's taken me to get it clean again and I'm furious that someone would disrespect me so much that they'd leave where I sleep in such a state. But Ashville is a good way to help bring the mood up
AS11 ROL is a great piece of kit, I could see a second one on the horizon 👍🏼👍🏼 Head up Daniel! It’s a very very long project to develop the new yard, in years to come you and your team will be glad it was done RIGHT the first time!!!
Daniel, I'm also a perfectionist... As long as you stay afloat, forget the lack of revenue generation from sorting out the yard; the end results in terms of job satisfaction for employees, and your own personal pride, will be worth it's weight in gold. Keep up the good work and great vids.
Those cable ties holding on the cable on the metal tray will only last a year in the elements you should get someone to throw on some metal ties so the cable doesn’t end up falling down when the plastic degrades!
It's Sunday morning, I'm a bit late to the party but. I'm here ready for great video from Daniel and the team. Serious it's an hour long 🎉 remember to thank a farmer.
Wokeness and Jealousy is everywhere, instead of applauding they try to put you down. The trials and Tribulations that you have to deal with you do it in your stride and seems not overwhelm you. Your videos are a highlight of my week. Thanks for sharing and your perseverance will pay off....
Man don't mind the negative people they are just jealous. Your doing great your sharing your aspirations with us and giving us the push and courage we need to do more with our lives truly unmatchable energy you have!!
So often I'm out on a Sunday morning with South Lincolnshire Mini Owners Club, and so I don't get to watch Ashville until later or even Monday as I struggle to chill with a video once home. It's lovely today to watch it as soon as it goes live.
As a software developer, I can tell you its never worth developing your own software unless there's nothing on the market that does wgat you want. You're not going to develop something for less than the renewal. Also know that software is never 'done'. It needs maintenance just like your machines. A better option is always to shop around for a cheaper alternative or opensource option.
Daniel when your building a successful business you will always have haters some more so than others it comes with the territory but you do what you have to do. If you have to limit certain things you speak about so be it I am sure 99% of us will still tune in every week to watch and learn. Keep up the good work.
Great to see the boss getting stuck in and going out n collecting a load. Well done on your team's award Yiu have come so far already and it's working, see you all again next Sunday
Love your drive bro, you seem so much more grounded this episode compared to the last few... you have already accomplished a lifetime worth of goals and dreams for many, I respect it all just remember, when times get hard... you have already won!
Another great video Daniel, I do really enjoy watching your videos, can I just say, I've never met you, but I'm so proud of what your doing, lots of love from me, please keep it up,
I work in traffic management and currently Sat on a road closure in bath on this miserable Sunday morning but this will keep me entertained for a bit 😂big fan of ashville and got mad respect for Daniel and his lads keep the content coming bro🎉
Once worked at a firm that had the policy the if you were caught on your phone whilst driving you packed up your kit and left as soon as you got back to the yard as most of the work was local you went straight back to the yard ( bye) kept the TC happy
Helpful comments Daniel. Your blue MDPE pipe will need insulating for the cold weather. The feed we put into the on site toilet blocks in Fulham, used to freeze above ground. The insulation should be as thick as you can get for that size of pipe. Failing that, a frost heater tape run along the underside of the pipe. It only turns on when it is below freezing. The dis board feeding the scaffolding / work area, put in a maintained emergency light above it, just in case there is an issue with breakers tripping. Your scaffolding structures all individually need a scaffolding tag and register. Your scaffolding company should be able to advise. We trained up some of your guys to do the inspections once a week to cut down on costs. Keep the cameras rolling and don't let the bar stewards grind you down.
It’s a Grey wet Sunday, feel happy today and whacked on this weeks Ashville. (Everytime I see the Ashville fleet I act like I know them to my family 🤦🏽♂️🤭, not intentionally).
WANT TO SEE THE TRAIN thanks Ashville. next week be soooo good and o see how you are when this happens A NILE STONE to the start of months of hard work planning and a ton of money.
Lovely to see things coming together! Nice that you recognise that agriculture also is in that predicament, perhaps longer than you have been. Hope it wont last.
Hello Daniel. Eventhough it doesn't give you any revenue, it's now matching, i also feel good when things are in harmony aswell, i have autism, so it makes sense to me 😊😊😊
These videos are long enough that I might start watching a day at a time, so by the time Sunday comes, I've only just finished Saturday 🤔 The quality of this content is so good and I'm really appreciative of how in depth you and your team go, it's inspiring and really interesting for someone who's got no idea what goes on in your world. Keep it up please lads 🔥👌
Ive worked with waffle board before it helps to seal the cutting edge with some epoxy so the moisture cant get in and it wont break in the colder months
We have periodic refresher training at my work. Sometimes it’s a little annoying but sometimes it’s a nice reminder of things I’ve forgotten, or that little details have changed.
@Daniel Ashville, loving the growth and videos, yard is coming along fine, don't let others hamper your transitions However !!!! Ben surely needs a new flatbed as when moving those containers it got battered !!! Please 🙏 reply
As for the Danger Mouse reference of Terry. Was bang on. 😂 As for your other matter. The old saying is if you throw enough mud some sticks. That is all they have. 🤔. Don't worry every dog has there day. 💪 👍
Morning Daniel. Have you thought about a speaker system for the drivers collecting on the weigh bridge. This would work well with the traffic light system and saves the driver getting out the cab, eliminating any risk that may bring. Just a thought
Daniel dear boy. Everything we do isn’t all about revenue. Sometimes we have to do things that stop major cash loss. IE make it safe to industry standard lowers the chance of someone having your trousers down for a dodgy incident claim. That would break you. Chin up you have your health ambition and a great work ethics. Top man.😊😊
I can’t be the only person who feels spoiled that we are having one hour vlogs, I hope you all have a great week ahead of you ❤
Couldn't agree more!
Gobshite
You're not alone guys😊
I like a long blog to. Good job team

@@johnmchardy4502 nothing to do with efficiency, European pork is cheaper because they have lower welfare standards than us

Imagine if we belonged to a common market and the sausages cost the same.

Jealousy is an awful thing. Just keep doing what you are good at. I love the channel
The ONLY thing BAD about Ashville Weekly is when you say "and that's it for Ashville Weekly" 😃
Keep up the GREAT content!
🤣👊
It's Sunday. It's chucking down with rain 🌧 outside. Ashville is on - niiiiiiiiiiiicccccceeee! Let's go

Congrats on the award, Terry is right it is all in the length.
The pics of the first GB rail freight train on the new tracks looked good.
