Here here. At my most musical, I can sometimes sing melodic lines that I wish I could then render on my guitar. I cannot do this and some are blessed to come up with absolutely superlative melodies and have them come out of their fingers. It's an amazing skill.

Those EMG pickups are really sounding great. This is the type of demo EMG needs on their channel! Their current videos all sound....well not the best and I realized how great they really are after playing them in person.

Extremely generalised: learn your scales and chords. The notes you accent, be it by volume, length, vibrato, whammy and whatnot in relation to the background chord is what sets the melodic reference and emotion you feel as a listener.

'Dawn' is just so, so beautiful. I am as enraptured learning how to play it as I am understanding how it 'works' compositionally. Just inspiring. (I still can't play that really fast run, though!)
@@nickr8976 Yeah the intro is so good. Marco killed it on that song. That fast run in the song is so awesome. I can't even get close to the speed on that speedy part. The solo is really good but I love the intro the best and then the chorus. Another great song is "Homeland" so great acoustic sound at the beginning and lead guitar. Another good one is Sunset Lights.

Have to say, I think the tone with the Charvel is tastier than the Ibanez all those years ago - more definition and bite. And if anything, the phrasing and touch here is even more stunning than before. (I miss that bend from the earlier playthrough at 3:09 though!) Amazing and inspirational as ever.
