Glad you liked them. I love this one from their new album! Rebecca singing melody and Megan on slide guitar. Sisters. Larkin Poe is an ancestor of theirs a cousin of Edgar Allen Poe. They have been performing since they were teenagers. When their other sister was with them their name was The Lovell Sisters and they were bluegrass. Lots of great music from them. They were recently opening for Willie Nelson on the Farm Aid tour. A fun one they do is a song Rebecca wrote about Megan when she dyed her hair - Bleached Blonde Bottle Blues.
Larkin Poe is THE band you can recommend to your closest friends and they will never disappoint you. I will automatically buy every shirt and album they make in the coming years.
Welcome to the Larkin Poe rabbit hole. Fan for years. My wife and I saw them live back in February. Blue rock at it's finest. These sisters kick butt. React to "Mad as a Hatter" next. Another underknown artist is a trio of you ladies The Rainbow Girls... their cover of Down Home Girl is amazing.
they were originally The Lovell Sisters, then they announced the group's disbandment in 2009..In January 2010,Rebecca and Megan regrouped as Larkin Poe..Larkin Poe was the name of the sisters' great- great- great-great -grandfather
Love these women and their amazing blistering talent. Slightly more stripped down stuff from them: Mississippi (video shot in a laundromat), Georgia Off My Mind, Bleach Blond Bottle Blues. They bring it every time without fail.
Megan Lovell is the lap steel player and her sister Rebecca is the lead singer/ guitarist who also plays mandolin and banjo and is the chief songwriter. Larking Poe was the 4g-grandfather's name and he and Edgar Allen Poe were distant cousins.
They have 5 original albums with a few covers, one of all covers, and lots of cover videos that is just the 2 sisters recorded on a cellphone. Try covers of bell bottom blues and sound of silence, and original song Beach blonde bottle blues to start.
Larkin Poe are amazing. This new album is another great one from them. Definitely check out more from them. @PappyDReactions - Welcome to the wide and deep rabbit hole that is Larkin Poe! 2 sisters, the Lovell sisters, have been independent artists since 2010. 4 EPs, 7 albums, Larkin Poe is an American roots blues rock band. Rebecca(guitars, mandolin, banjo, keys, digital programming and lead vocals) and Megan(lap steel slide, dobro and harmony vocals) have their TH-cam channel with many original songs as well as covers. Their recordings are predominately produced by just the two, occasionally featuring a guest, but when they go on tour, they will have bass and drums support. Currently finished a EU/UK tour. They are now performing around the US and Mexico. This clip from 2016, is actually 2 songs - “Tom Devil” was written by Ed Lewis, which segues into an original song “I Love You For The Way That You.” th-cam.com/video/hpTe3IXy3QM/w-d-xo.html
Or...... Preachin' Blues or Might as well be me, or Black Echo, Summertime Sunset, Ohh, Hell! Just all the albums: Kin, Reskinned, Peach, Venom and Faith, Self Made Man, Blood Harmony
I know this is an older video, so hopefully you have been down the LP rabbit hole in the past few months. But for anyone else just discovering this and these amazing sisters, I'd like to say one thing. These "Official Video" versions are fun, but nowhere close to showcasing how good these women are compared to their live concert videos and their hundreds of covers done from the couch in their home. The live version of this song recorded on the Telefunken Sound Stage is head and shoulders more entertaining that this. I've heard people question how good these women are playing their guitars. Trust me when I say - VERY GOOD. Both of them can absolutely shred! I'll bet they have upwards of 500, or maybe even over a thousand live videos on TH-cam. The rabbit hole is deep AND wide! Watch a few of them and go see them live. That is where they really shine! Stage presence and an extremely tight band.
Rebecca and Megan began in a wholesome bluegrass group with their older sister. Then they heard the blues and they decided they wanted to be "bad girls" instead.
The Lovell sisters are BADASS!!! The album this song is from ("Blood Harmony") has spent the last 2 weeks at the #1 spot on the Billboard blues album charts. Larkin Poe was also nominated for a Grammy for best blues album two years ago with their album "Venom and Faith." Lead vocalist Rebecca Lovell has become quite an accomplished songwriter and she said she wrote "Bad Spell" as a female response to the Screamin' Jay Hawkins classic song "I Put A Spell On You" (which was famously covered by Credence Clearwater Revival). I highly suggest you explore their incredible blues/rock/roots music further. Try the video for their in studio cover of Tom Petty's "Honey Bee" it'll knock your socks off (with Petty's drummer Steve Ferrone)

They named themselves after their great great great great (I think) grandfather, Larkin Poe, a distant cousin of Edgar Allan Poe.

And, they are very, very _good_ bad girls. Yup. Yessir. No doubt.
Estamos com falta de sua reação ao Gabriel henrique
Blues band with a 'slide' guitar...
