Prophet Moses Mason .. I live in a modern Sodom and Gomorrah/Large City. How do I or WE overcome sinful thoughts? What is the mental process for getting rid of sinful thoughts?
Spend time studying the Bible. Guard your enviornment as much as you can. We have to pray for strength to control what we eat, see and listen. Some things are unavoidable, but most of the time we allow Satan to plant seeds in our mind through our enviornment...in our homes, radios, music, foods we eat and places we select to go as entertainment. Study, Study, Study and pray, pray pray. God can and have promise to purtify out hearts, which is the mind. As a result our character will change and we will no longer desire the things of the world. God has promise to help if we ask. Trust his word.
Great sermon . Let's not forget to train our thoughts by saying "I bring all of my sinful thoughts into captivity to Jesus " see 2Cor 10:3,4,5,6 . Much Christian love Pat NZ
The answer is in Philippians 4:8 and Philippians 2:5. You must feed your mind clean things to get clean thoughts. The holy Bible says "By beholding we become changed into the same image." If you behold garbage, then our mind will produce garbage thoughts. Listen to sermons and watch Christian movies. Do not listen to secular music or watch worldly movies. I miss this Brother so much. His teachings were so profound. God blessed me to get to know him and ti learn from him.
