    These tracks are so much fun to play bass along with. Really enjoying learning the sound of the chord and how do emphasize the key chord tones. This track in particular is teaching me how to work that F# (2nd/9th). It’s fun to hang on that a bit and learn how to really use it. Whoever is doing the hard work to create and put these tracks up, I am grateful.

    This is fantastic, thank you so much for all the work that went into this! This is so great for practicing different bass grooves... A live band never has the discipline to play a repetitive groove like this for very long.

    • @MusicJamTracks
      @MusicJamTracks  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your message. A track without a bass doesn't have a route, so there may certainly be some parts that sound unstable. Make a line that emphasizes 7th in the baseline. It will be a funky track. Did you understand?

    • @jamescandela7304
      @jamescandela7304 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is also the fact that you are recommending a mixolydian scale on the 7th degree, which has a root of D natural. Neither of those things occur naturally in the key of e major. None the less, I enjoy the track.

    • @MusicJamTracks
      @MusicJamTracks  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think 7th chords are chords like neutral colors that can be approached by majors and minors. Anyway, please enjoy.

    • @jamescandela7304
      @jamescandela7304 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well the problem wit that is that functionality are not at all like that. And given that D natural mixolydian is the seventh mode of the E MINOR scale, I would agree that this is in e minor. Also, D sharp sounds extremely dissonant unbalanced in this track, so I would agree that it is in E minor. This in no way detracts from
      The fact that I like the track a lot.

      Start with the root notes, follow the drums rhythm,
      add notes that outline chords - major pentatonic scales are handy. Then try adding some passing notes.

  • @Iamdanielcolleman

    This is E minor, not major

    • @MusicJamTracks
      @MusicJamTracks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are many opinions and I am fine with that.For example, if you are improvising on a major blues progression, you would use a minor pentatonic. You would also use the major pentatonic. Even if the chord uses a seventh chord, the minor pentatonic sounds cool from an aural approach, doesn't it? So, I think there is no problem to use the minor pentatonic even in the case of a seventh chord. Of course, we believe that by using not only the minor pentatonic, but also the mixolydian and major pentatonic, we can play a wide range of improvisation.

    • @BWater-yq3jx
      @BWater-yq3jx 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As a bass player, you would be looking to primarily outline the chords, which are major.
      The lead players can go either major pent or blues scales.
