I usually really struggle to sit with a video and listen all the way through because of my ADHD but the way you edited this, how long you spent talking about things, your opinions, it all allowed for me to relax into the video and enjoy the pace and content. That truly doesn’t happen often at all for me, so thank you for creating the content that you do! As an avid reader, writer, creative person who is currently doing the opposite hemispheric move (NZ to NL) I feel like your content will definitely speak to me even more in the months to come.
Aside from the countless reasons why I love what you share on this channel, every time you share POC authors and most importantly glimpses of my homeland, Palestine, my heart just fills with so much love and gratitude ❤️🩹 Your “visual” journals always feel so healing to me, and discovering your channel this year was one of the best things ❤
added ‘my friends’ to my tbr! i forgot i saw someone else talk highly about it as well & seeing you talk about this made me want to pick this up soon. i’m currently reading ‘my brilliant friend’ and ugh it’s excellent!! hope you’re feeling much better & got lots of rest in. i enjoyed the vlog as always ❤️
I would love to hear about your journey with spirituality and how you started and stopped and where you are now. Obviously, please only do it if you feel comfortable :)
I’m in my last semester of uni so too busy to read for pleasure right now, but I have a list of books I plan on reading once I am out and I always take recommendations from you! Thank you Nina!
you inspired me to read again after a quiet long reading block. I bought my friends a couple of days ago because of your recommendation. you reminded me of how great Hisham Matar's writing is.
ive been teaching yoga full time for over 11 years and that conflict is still rampant in me! such a difficult topic. thank you for sharing your experience xx
Hey Nina, thank you so much for another sweet video, they always give me lots of comfort. I have two questions: 1. Can you recommend a book which is similar to 'The Wren, The Wren'? I absolutely loved it and thought it was so special! 2. How did you build the book tower? Are there some kind of hidden shelves in between the books? Thank you!
in all honesty, i used to follow your channel before the yoga stuff started coming up in such an intense way. but as a POC, it made me feel so uncomfortable and i eventually unfollowed even though i loved your channel. i followed again a few years ago when you were coming out of stuff, and your channel has once again become a safe space where i feel at home. we're around the same age (I'm turning 30 this year) and I'm moving back to Australia in a few months after 7 years overseas, and i was also diagnosed with ADHD a few years ago. so that moment of acknowledgement just felt like full circle for me. I admire you a lot for a myriad of reasons. thank you for always veing so thoughtful, nina ❤
Hey Nina, thanks for your lovely video. I had to read the yoga sutras as well for my yoga training and found a great book that I'd recommend (as I found some translations sometimes not "feminist friendly" if that makes sense°, it's called "The Secret Power of Yoga: A woman's guide to the heart and spirit of the yoga sutras". Lots of love xxx
hi Nina I had a similar yoga experience.. shift of philosophy and a return to it. I am reading 'Constellations' by Sinead Gleeson I think you'd love it- and Small Bodies of Water!
The Spear Cuts Through The Water is a time. I also had it recommended by someone somewhere, but couldn't tell you who. I wouldn't call it High Fantasy though, so don't let it affect your view towards other fantasy novels. That being said, I'm not sure what I would call it. Experimental, as you said. It's definitely something. Hope you manage to rest up before you're back at uni, and feel better soon
Nina! We have the same book taste- please, when you’re off your ban, get Evenings and Weekends by Oisín McKenna. Gorgeous queer novel, an Irish author’s debut!!!
They broke up years ago. Cam has his own channel but unsure of how active. When they were together, Nina was rarely on camera or seemed shy when she was in front. It’s been so wonderful to watch Nina take over this channel, experience its development from food to lifestyle/literature/slow living and change in her as a person. How open and vulnerable and comfortable she is in front of the camera now is like watching a friend grow into who they were always meant to be. 💚💚💚 I used to watch the old videos for food inspo, unsure if she still has those up
I think we can't talk about peace and 'non violent' if we are going to be cruel towards animals. The conversation and then a shot of eggs is a shocking contrast. You were not clear about not being vegan anymore. I guess this clarifies that.
@@nina.montagne I appreciate your reply. Even though it is still not ethical to contribute to animal cruelty. You know there is no such thing as 'happy chickens'. I wish you were upfront about it because veganism was always a big part of your channel. Thank you for those years.
@@susanguche Nina's channel hasn't been about veganism for a very long time. Yes, she posts food sometimes but she has always been upfront about doing what's right for her because guess what? It's her life, not yours. If she chooses to eat eggs, that is completely okay and none of your business x
Your cats snuggling you while you read is the ultimate reading situation!! ❤
They really leave zero options for distraction.
your cats snuggling with you while you read was such a tender, sweet moment ❤
💗💗💗
Please please please talk more about yoga and appropriation (if comfortable) I have such a tricky relationship with yoga as well 😅
yes would love to hear your whole spiritual/non-spiritual kinda journey! ❤
I absolutely love when you include more cat footage-- you have the sweetest babies!
Ahhh they are so sweet 😭😭😭 I love them so much 😭😭😭
Could you at some point record your "cat-story" for a video? :)
@@nina.montagne I can see the love in your eyes, haha!
both of your cats sitting on your lap was an instant heart melt for me!😍
it's a luxury i dont take for granted!!!!
It was soooo sweet seeing your fur babies cuddled up and sleeping on your lap while you read ❤❤❤🥰
