Scovillain is my favourite gen 9 mon design wise, it makes me sad that its stats aren't great

I'm working on a very similar team! it has farigiraf for a tr mode but my favorite mode is torkoal + burst scovillain. it has tera grass, life orb, solar beam and overheat. it ohkos a ton of stuff and parting shot grimmsnarl guarantees you win the weather war and can 1 turn solar beam. I'll be changing spicy extract to rage powder after seeing this. it has synergy with foul play on grimm and farig, but super hard to use.

I have a dondozo game in my laddering video coming soon (shameless plug) and there's a few ways around it.
Scovillain can chunk it, and having yawn on oranguru helps a ton too
Fun team idea! I'd like to see how you play against murkrow since its so common. Were your games recorded anywhere ?
Because I have a hard trick room mode, murkrow is actually useless against my team.

I dont understand your EV investment for Oranguru
with 0 zero EVs invested in SpD and 252 HP you survive the same attacks you mentioned....
with only 100 EVs in def and a + nature and 252 HP you survive the same Maushold attack...

I mean... I don’t really have an "answer," because I didn't really see this as a question, but I'll give it a shot for ya.
Whenever I "ev for something" I like to live with about 20-30% to spare if I can, which is what that sp.def investment allowed me to do. This is just in case I take another small hit so I can increase my longevity and such. I hope that makes sense?
I just checked your calc with the maushold pop-bomb vs Oranguru with 252 hp and 100 Def...
That spread actually reduces my chance of survival, so now I'm extra confused by your comment.
@@krebsvgc It wasnt 100 EVs in Def it was 108 my bad on that one, still thats a lot less EVs than 172 (considering 1 crit is too niche imo) with the upcoming restricted mons invest the rest on spdef to survive specs chi yu dark pulse
