This is a really good guide especially for collectors who just started or a person who wants to dive in the world of figure collecting. I know that you really put effort into this. Personally, my collections are more of Figuarts Zero, and some Banpresto figures, with a few Portrait of Pirates. It just depends on the scale of the character in the anime. A great guide!!! It’s a good idea, coz there are SO MANY One Piece figures out there, starting out can be kinda intimidating. I managed to grab a bunch of G&G and Ichiban Kuji figures off amiami preowned when I first started collecting, and I still love them just as much as my scales. Also you were so right about Megahouse’s resell prices 😭😭 i finally got the Miss All Sunday Robin POP for ¥25,000 and that’s only because she was in C condition (minor mark on the base and on her hat, thank god); she usually goes for more than ¥30,000 😳💀

I absolutely loved this video. The POP line holds a very special place in my heart because they were the first figures I decided to open and display outside of their boxes. For years I've been an in-the-box collector and it was Megahouse's One Piece line which ended that. From there I went on to collect a slew of other anime figures then, eventually, statues. I have the complete Straw Hat crew (Sailing Again) and several other of my favorite characters. As much as I love these figures, I was very surprised to learn of the peg issues these figures are known to have. Trying to remove these figures after some time could mean the peg from the stand would break off into the figure's feet. I've had this happen to a couple figures. I'm afraid to think how many figures suffer from this. Negatives aside I agree, the POP figures are quite nice. I do also really like the Figuarts Zero line. But is it me or aren't those kind of pricey? Great figures though.
The POP line was what started this obsession so it's top of the list for me as well! Thankfully I haven't had any issues with pegs breaking off inside so fingers crossed. 😅 I think the figuarts zero line should be about $10-$20 less for that size and quality, but I guess that would make them compete with the other Banpresto lines. It's always awesome to interact with One Piece fans, we seemingly can become nakama instantly! 😁
I've been out of collecting the portrait of pirates for some years and wanted to get back to it, but heck the resell price have gotten so crazy! I remember buying Shirahoshi for about 30$ and many of the less searched for figures could become as cheap as 15$. Only a few could be resold at a higher price then its MSRP. Now, it's hard to find something at less than double the original price.
I gave this a thumbs up. No bias advertising on the Resin part. Your opening statement on the resin is what a real collector should be. But imo never support unlicensed if you love the anime.

I also have Musketeer Reiju(IDK the correct name but she is wearing that blue French Musketeer outfit and is holding a rapier), Grandline Men Denjiro, Grandline Children Otama, P.O.P Charlotte Pudding, and a random Perona figure I got at a flea marker. Great vid, definitely gonna use to help collect some OP figures. I kinda wish Toei was more lax with the brand and we could get Good Smile figures or Nendoroids but that will never happen 😭 still the figures are really cool and I’d love to get my hands on them

I just started collecting statues, and have nothing in regards to One Piece. FiguartsZero is a solid price point, but I really like the Megahouse stuff. I tend to only get things that I feel I can't live without though. Don't really aim for sets.
there's a really cool line of unlicensed figures that's called ''dramatic showcase'' with all the emotional moments of the anime, is not as detailed as this ones but the poses really made me want it so baddd
Cool to see those moments in figure form and I think those are from Branpresto so fully licensed although there's a ton of counterfeits out right now. 😅
I'm on a tighter budget so I've got a few funko pops and got some of the recent WCF banpresto figures. There's a lot more new One Piece funko pops now! Even got one with Luffy on the Going Merry

Decided to go back to Portrait of Pirates from Figuarts Zero. The quality control was getting ridiculous on these and with the announcement that the newest Luffy will cost $280.00 USD, what’s the point of paying more for less quality than POP?

old vid that popped up on my feed a few times, decided to watch it and god this makes me realize there aren't any good brook scales. i hate how most shonen are stuck with banpresto/bandai who snatch up the licensing. i know solo studio resin statues exist but i don't got that kind of buck... i would like a detailed and dynamic soul king outfit brook figure. i think the figuarts zero and p.o.p are my best bet lol. the wano figuarts brook is also really nice. i'm 100% one of those people in the boat of being a brook/franky/usopp fan (i imagine robin doesnt have this problem because one piece fans are thirsty and simpler figures like her are easier to produce) as for my thoughts on most one piece statues and shonen resin statues , a lot of them the composition is just completely overshadowed by the effects pieces rather than uplifting the character itself, i'm jealous of your aoikiji and enel and i think that particular enel statue has really nice composition and a really refreshing paint job on the water and gold. the one thing im concerned about with resin is leftover resin dust from production since i don't know how reliable resin studios are lol. I can't believe I have zero OP figures yet

I'm hope they give some more of the Strawhats some love in POP form because it's usually only the East Blue Trio plus a cute Chopper... 😭 I love my resins and I'm definitely adding to the collection in that regard! I'd say if you're buying licensed resin it should be fine but of course do whatever you are comfortable with! 😉
I've really been collecting from king of artist and masterlise mostly. The king of artist gear 5 and onigashima luffy both blew me away for the price they're selling at. I just hope Megahouse drops more figures of the final battle with kaido. None seem to be catching my eye yet and there's still a lot more figures they can do (looking at you, ifrit jambe)

Welcome to the crew! There are a few out there and here's a small list to check out... Jimei Palace, Tsume Art, Oniri Creations, Infinity, Soul Wing, Ryu, Light Year, Unique Art, Revive/Unlimited, Sheng Shi Wen Hua, and even Toei themselves.

for me when collecting one piece sets, i only will collect them if all the strawhats are available, i currently have the 20th anniversary's and the film red sets and i want to collect the 15th anniversary set next.
What do you think about the Megahouse Portrait.Of.Pirates "Warriors Alliance" Trafalgar Law figure? I got the figure in weird circumstances....and it hasn't been opened at all xD I don't know if I should sell it. Do you like it or nah?
I think that Law figure is alright but I personally don't enjoy the manspreading action he has going on...😅 If you like him as a character or have the other Wano Portrait of Pirates then it might be worth it to keep him. 😬

Congrats on the trip! I'd recommend the Tamashii Nations store for starters. If you're hunting for older figures then you can try Trader, Mandarake, or the Amiami store. I'd give yourself a full day to explore Akihabara since there's hundreds of little shops all throughout! 😆

Great guide. I used to collect P.O.P, Figuarts Zero, and a bunch of others. Unfortunately Megahouse doesn’t seem to have any interest in making more standard pop figures and only wants to do $300 maximum figures. They are rereleasing a bunch of the Wano excellent models but they are all $170 to $200 per figure. Gonna have to just vibe with the figuarts zero because there are so many more characters to buy.

I don't focus too much about collecting a specific line, but simply by what looks good. I missed Megahouse Kaido, Whitebeard and Jinbe and those are my big regrets.

There are still some sites that allow pre-ordering such as Kappa H, BBTS etc. Do you think it is a good idea to pre-order now in US sites or wait till the Japanese release date and buy it from their local sites such as Solaris J? I'm a huge fan of the POP line though recently I've been more selective of what I will buy from this line since the prices have gone way up. I also have a few Figuarts Zero and DXF but having a hard time deciding to sell them or not since I'm running out of space to keep them all lol especially that I have several figures on the way plus I pre ordered the Big Mom Maximum and hoping to hunt Kaido Maximum or wait for a miracle to be rereleased 😂
The POP line is a sweet spot for a lot of us OP collectors! I ran out of space a long time ago but personally I'm holding onto a ton in storage... 🤣 Just wait until you end up pulling the trigger on a resin statue... 🙃

@@DTTCReviews yep. FAZ and the Grandline Series line are almost the same scale. Then Kuji for some figures. I buy POP if the character is big like Kaido, Big Mom and Whitebeard. Then WCF for character such as children or Tontattas like Leo and Mansherry.
Personally because I want so many characters I decided to stay away from p.o.p. Instead I went with Figuarts Zero, their recent figures look great and scale pretty well with some of the higher end Ichiban Kuji figures which I also collect. Some day though I will buy one massive statue of luffy. But I’m going to wait until he becomes king of the pirates and get a statue based on how he looks and is dressed then.

First off congrats to starting your One Piece collecting journy! I'd recommend the Banpresto Grandista figure line since it's a good starting point in terms of value and size. From there you can see if you want to save towards Portrait of Pirates or even resins! 😄

For newer releases I would try Amiami, Nin Nin Game, Tokyo Otaku Mode, Bigbadanimestore, and Sideshow Collectibles 😆 If it's an older figure then you'd have to hunt on Amiami pre-owned, Mandarake, or Buyee. Hope this helps! 😅
I was just wondering what lines scale well with eachother? Theres so many that I"m not sure what goes with what. I know Grandista and SMSP are around the same but what about P.O.P, and KoA (new ones like zoro and law seem to be smaller now), Figuarts Zero, Masterlise before, and masterlise now, since they seem smaller as well now. I've been asking around but I haven't seen a solid answer yet. But very useful video thank you man.
Honestly, I would say the best scaling would be between the different prize lines. Figuarts Zero is closer to 1/10 and Portrait of Pirates is about 1/8th scale. As for the specifics between those prize lines I'd recommend checking out Monkey Figure Reviews on YT! 😅 Hope this helped a little!

old vid that popped up on my feed a few times, decided to watch it and god this makes me realize there aren't any good brook scales. i hate how most shonen are stuck with banpresto/bandai who snatch up the licensing. i know solo studio resin statues exist but i don't got that kind of buck... i would like a detailed and dynamic soul king outfit brook figure. i think the figuarts zero and p.o.p are my best bet lol. the wano figuarts brook is also really nice. i'm 100% one of those people in the boat of being a brook/franky/usopp fan (i imagine robin doesnt have this problem because one piece fans are thirsty and simpler figures like her are easier to produce)
as for my thoughts on most one piece statues and shonen resin statues , a lot of them the composition is just completely overshadowed by the effects pieces rather than uplifting the character itself, i'm jealous of your aoikiji and enel and i think that particular enel statue has really nice composition and a really refreshing paint job on the water and gold. the one thing im concerned about with resin is leftover resin dust from production since i don't know how reliable resin studios are lol. I can't believe I have zero OP figures yet

I love my resins and I'm definitely adding to the collection in that regard! I'd say if you're buying licensed resin it should be fine but of course do whatever you are comfortable with! 😉

I've really been collecting from king of artist and masterlise mostly. The king of artist gear 5 and onigashima luffy both blew me away for the price they're selling at. I just hope Megahouse drops more figures of the final battle with kaido. None seem to be catching my eye yet and there's still a lot more figures they can do (looking at you, ifrit jambe)

Hey, what’s the difference to the unlicensed resin statues, which are around 100- 500 $. They are limited as well. Do they usually have a lower value than the licensed ones or megahouse figures in the same price range?
Yo, typically they retain less value than the licensed resin counterparts but due to the limited nature there are some outliers. 😆

Hey, Revive has some clean and crisp design. I would say it's a toss up between them and Jimei if you're looking for a Whitebeard. 😆
for me when collecting one piece sets, i only will collect them if all the strawhats are available, i currently have the 20th anniversary's and the film red sets and i want to collect the 15th anniversary set next.

I think that Law figure is alright but I personally don't enjoy the manspreading action he has going on...😅 If you like him as a character or have the other Wano Portrait of Pirates then it might be worth it to keep him. 😬

Congrats on the trip! I'd recommend the Tamashii Nations store for starters. If you're hunting for older figures then you can try Trader, Mandarake, or the Amiami store. I'd give yourself a full day to explore Akihabara since there's hundreds of little shops all throughout! 😆

Great guide. I used to collect P.O.P, Figuarts Zero, and a bunch of others. Unfortunately Megahouse doesn’t seem to have any interest in making more standard pop figures and only wants to do $300 maximum figures. They are rereleasing a bunch of the Wano excellent models but they are all $170 to $200 per figure. Gonna have to just vibe with the figuarts zero because there are so many more characters to buy.

I have some resin figures preordered and because of their weight I don’t know what kind of shelf/bookshelf I could get. Do you recommend anything when it comes to that?
You can try Ikea Pax or Bror units but if the statue weight is even more then try garage shelving units from Homedepot! 😄
I don't focus too much about collecting a specific line, but simply by what looks good. I missed Megahouse Kaido, Whitebeard and Jinbe and those are my big regrets.
That's the great thing about all this variety! 😆 I hope for our sakes, Megahouse will re-release those giants in the future! 😅😅😅

There are a few out there, I'd recommend either checking out the S.H Figuarts line by Bandai or the Variable Action Heroes from Megahouse! ;)

I'm a huge fan of the POP line though recently I've been more selective of what I will buy from this line since the prices have gone way up. I also have a few Figuarts Zero and DXF but having a hard time deciding to sell them or not since I'm running out of space to keep them all lol especially that I have several figures on the way plus I pre ordered the Big Mom Maximum and hoping to hunt Kaido Maximum or wait for a miracle to be rereleased 😂
The POP line is a sweet spot for a lot of us OP collectors! I ran out of space a long time ago but personally I'm holding onto a ton in storage... 🤣 Just wait until you end up pulling the trigger on a resin statue... 🙃

I collect a hybrid of FAZ, DXF Grandline Series, Ichiban Kuji and WCF for one reason. Scaling.
Scaling is sooo underrated! 😆
@@DTTCReviews yep. FAZ and the Grandline Series line are almost the same scale. Then Kuji for some figures. I buy POP if the character is big like Kaido, Big Mom and Whitebeard. Then WCF for character such as children or Tontattas like Leo and Mansherry.

Personally because I want so many characters I decided to stay away from p.o.p. Instead I went with Figuarts Zero, their recent figures look great and scale pretty well with some of the higher end Ichiban Kuji figures which I also collect. Some day though I will buy one massive statue of luffy. But I’m going to wait until he becomes king of the pirates and get a statue based on how he looks and is dressed then.
I unfortunately was exposed to the POP line first so I think I got spoiled with the quality... 😅 A pirate king Luffy statue would look amazing! 😆

First off congrats to starting your One Piece collecting journy! I'd recommend the Banpresto Grandista figure line since it's a good starting point in terms of value and size. From there you can see if you want to save towards Portrait of Pirates or even resins! 😄

For newer releases I would try Amiami, Nin Nin Game, Tokyo Otaku Mode, Bigbadanimestore, and Sideshow Collectibles 😆 If it's an older figure then you'd have to hunt on Amiami pre-owned, Mandarake, or Buyee.

Theres so many that I"m not sure what goes with what.
I know Grandista and SMSP are around the same but what about P.O.P, and KoA (new ones like zoro and law seem to be smaller now), Figuarts Zero, Masterlise before, and masterlise now, since they seem smaller as well now.
I've been asking around but I haven't seen a solid answer yet. But very useful video thank you man.
Honestly, I would say the best scaling would be between the different prize lines. Figuarts Zero is closer to 1/10 and Portrait of Pirates is about 1/8th scale. As for the specifics between those prize lines I'd recommend checking out Monkey Figure Reviews on YT! 😅 Hope this helped a little!
