The logical conclusion is that they must have been threatened by predators which built their nests in very tall trees. Those species of birbs and dinos which failed to pro-actively topple these trees eventually died at the claws of those predators once they matured. Only those colonies of birds and dinos that proactively toppled the trees bearing the nests of the predators survived to procreate into The Triassic. I.e., (per Darwin) any dino or birb not hard-wired to topple perished, leaving only those species which were pro-actively topplistic to pass on their genes. That's my doctoral thesis.
