    First of all, the Spirit bearing witness that we are children of God is written only and specifically to born again believers, not to unbelievers.
    The only people that are children if God are those who are born again by the Spirit of ADOPTION.

    Now when you guys go around telling others you are trying to convert, how to keep a family together etc..
    Do you share your experience as Fathers of children? Or just just from what you are told? I'd say it's kind of hard to give fatherly advice when you don't have wives or children of your own yet.

    but that is the issue I have. I have to "watch" something on the discovery channel to get the answers I have. I should be able to read it in the BOM, or better yet, the Bible! These big theologies aren't even in your own books. Show me where I can read it, and i will listen to these missionaries.

    We are born children of wrath and enemies of God.
    Does the Bible contradict itself when it also says that we are children of God?
    No. We are all born sinners and enemies of God. But when we are born-again and receive salvation, we then are adopted as children of God.
    We are not born children of God.
    "For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children.
    ...it is not the natural children who are God’s children"

      When I see my young 1year old brother eyes I can not see sin on him, sin is related to this world, this earth and bad things that happend. We are natural children of God, but we do not remember nothing, unless you try to be more close to him and pray to know why you are here.

    Thirds the guy lied when he referred to the atonement as the sacrifice of Christ, Mormons believe that are sins were not atoned on the cross but in the garden before Christ was crucified.

    • @leilua70
      @leilua70 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We believe that Jesus Christ atoned for our sins WHEN he was crucified

      for sure, the crusifiction was the second part of the atonement. the first part took place in the garden brother.

      at Gethsemane, the Lord ‘suffered the pain of all men, that all might repent and come unto him. He took upon Himself the weight of the sins of all mankind, bearing its massive load that caused Him to bleed from every pore
      Luke 22:44
      The following account illustrates one way in which the oil exuded from pressed olives can graphically represent the blood Jesus Christ shed in Gethsemane
      His suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane, during which He experienced intense agony of body and soul, yet submitted His will to His Heavenly Father..

    ok... question. I am not mormon, BTW. If we are literal "spirit children" if a "Heavenly Father", whom I refer to as God, then is there a heavenly mother? How did he create us? Because if we are literally his children.... you fill in the blank. Makes no sense to me. Can you answer this with biblical scripture. NOT scripture from the book of mormon, D&C or Pearl of Great Price, etc.

      Psalm 82:6
      Acts 17:29
      Genesis 3:22
      Psalm 82:6
      Matthew 5:48
      John 10:34
      God is not only our Ruler and Creator He is also our Heavenly Father. All men and women are literally the sons and daughters of God. “Man, as a spirit, was begotten and born of heavenly parents, and reared to maturity in the eternal mansions of the Father, prior to coming upon the earth in a temporal [physical] body. Every person who was ever born on earth is our spirit brother or sister. Because we are the spirit children of God, we have inherited the potential to develop His divine qualities. Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we can become like our Heavenly Father and receive a fulness of joy.
      We were not all alike in heaven. We know, for example, that we were sons and daughters of heavenly parents-males and females. We possessed different talents and abilities, and we were called to do different things on earth.
      A veil covers our memories of our premortal life, but our Father in Heaven knows who we are and what we did before we came here. He has chosen the time and place for each of us to be born so we can learn the lessons we personally need and do the most good with our individual talents and personalities.

    Second, we DID NOT come down from heaven, Jesus said the He is from above but we are FROM BENEATH.

      We all lived with Heavenly Father in a premortal life before Earth was created, and we are supposed to return
      The writer explains that we existed before the earth was created - Proverbs 8:22-31
      We began as spirits before we had bodies of flesh - Galatians 3:3
      Christ states that no man goes to Heaven unless he originally came from there in the first place - John 3:13
      We knew our Heavenly Father as adults long before ever coming to earth and also had duties and assignments - Jer. 1:5
      We are "absent" from our Heavenly Father, meaning we were already there once and are to return - 2 Corinthians 5:6-7
      The Father made promises to all of us before the earth was even created, thus we all already existed to hear it - Titus 1:2
      Job is chastened for not remembering that he was part of a pre-existing population before the earth was created - Job 38:4-7
      Heavens (plural!)and Earth are physical and were created simultaneously (meaning spirits already existed) - Genesis 2:1
      A person is describing how she, along with all the other Sons of God (angels), existed in a habitable place with God before the earth was even created - Proverbs 8:22-31
      Councils or meetings take place in Heaven, "Sons of God" (we are his children) are those who attend - Job 1:6, Luke 2:31
      The method of the creation of man's physical makeup was an agreement made by pre-existing spirits (plural) - Gen. 1:26
      Heavenly Father actual father of our spirits in premortal life- Jeremiah 1:5, Hebrews 12:9, Job 38:4-7, Genesis 1:26
      Christ asks to come back to our Heavenly Father as before the world was created - John 17:5
      Christ, sitting in Judgment in Heaven, mentions promises he made to us before the creation - Matthew 25:34
      Christ, while in Heaven, tells us we get to inherit kingdoms that were promised to us before creation - Matthew 25:34

      @James Mccluskey I believe I have just witnessed the greatest butchering of the Bible of all time. The way that you forced your presupposition that we pre-existed as spirit children of Heavenly Father (an exalted, physical man) and one of His exalted, physical wives is truly amazing. For instance, Jeremiah 1:5 demonstrates God's omniscience (c.f. Romans 4:17). God knows the future before it comes into existence. Proverbs 8:22-31 is a personification of wisdom. Read chapters 1 through 8 and this will become obvious. I could do this with every verse you brought up. You take verses that apply uniquely to Jesus and apply them to everyone. We (and everything that has been created in the entire universe - Genesis 1:1, John 1:3, Colossians 1:15-17) are all the creation of God. However, as it says in John 1:12, "But as many as received Him (Jesus), to them He gave the right to BECOME [emphasis mine] children of God. My friend, Jesus's warning to the Sadducees applies as much to you, "You are mistaken not knowing the Scriptures..." (Matthew 22:29). Before Judgment Day, I call you to repent and put your faith/trust (Acts 20:21) in the real Jesus (2 Corinthians 11:3,4) of the Bible (John 5:39,40).

    5th, the guy talks about Mormon families being a safe place when pedophilia, brother-sister incest, alcohol, drugs, spouse abuse, cold abuse, and a host of other Mormon family issues are swept under the rug.

    • @leilua70
      @leilua70 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      gladiator8324 you have to understand that the gospel of Jesus Christ is perfect, despite the members of our church. And I believe you’re referring to the FLDS church that practices polygamy and incest.

    • @leilua70
      @leilua70 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alcohol, drug abuse, domestic violence are not swept under the rug of our church. They are simply personal and private to those who are involved. However, many of our general authorities or prophets have given lessons of individuals who have gone through things such as alocohol abuse or drug abuse and they always give other members ways we can avoid these things, overcome them, and grow in the gospel of Jesus Christ

      @@leilua70 it's obvious you lack the knowledge to debate. Joseph Smith was a pedophile and was married to 34 plus women. The first women he asked into polygamy was a 12 year old, who fortunately declined at the time, however later on she did marry Joseph. Emmy was his 23rd wife sealed to him, even though she was his first wife. Smith was tarred and feathered after being caught in the act with a 16 year old. He committed treason and arson. Hell, it's all in the church essays on the LDS website. After 47 year's as a Mormon, when I learned the truth about our history, I had to abandon it.

    Of course Romans is taken out of context to support LDS theology. Just two verses before Romans 16 show that being sons of God is not a natural state: Rom 8:14-15. For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”

      gladiator8324 Jesus Christ have his apostles the authority to act in his name, aka the Priesthood.

      That's not "priesthood authority". Jesus gave no such thing.
