This is the great thing about TH-cam...
I had no idea I was going to be listening to Ray Parker Jr. play Tchaikovsky on guitar as I was randomly surfing the web. Yet now that I've heard it, my life is richer for the experience. Lol!!
Beautiful tone and workmanship on the instrument, BTW.
    ;o)

I agree, Chris. But people hiring guitarists for the big shows know of him. You can see him in the band at the Emmys and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction show. He is always showing up at some of the really big gigs. I didn't even know that he played guitar until I filmed this video at NAMM. Then I was astounded and whenever I see Ray I remain so. He fell in love with the guitar he's playing in this video. He bought it and then got another.

+LsL Instruments - you're right. I saw another video posted of him in a live performance and he was playing the same guitar. he's still quite the showman

@BrantheBroken Agreed. How many know Ray toured with the Spinners when he was 13 and with Stevie Wonder as his guitarist at 18?

You should have heard his version of Toto's Africa. It was extraordinary. Ray really fell in love with that guitar and so he bought her.

Ray never plays out...he is not a technical guitar player but a song player...feel is everything to him...he plays almost the same stuff when you hear him freeform...simple...and yet he is on so many records from Steve Wonder to Bill Withers to Motown greats to his own stuff w Raydio and like the guys in TOTO is known for a few hits like Ghostbusters...

He also wrote You Make Me Feel Like Dancing but as often happens got royally screwed when promised royalties but received zilch. The music industry is full of scum.
