Was and is he a great voice? Absolutely no question. But not the best. Sorry, but the best ever was Ryan Gallagher. His range, vocal tone, breath control and any other singing category you want to add were far superior to anyone who's ever been on the show. As great as Jordan Smith was/is (#2 in my opinion), he could never do opera. At least not on Ryan Gallagher's level.

I seldom watch The Voice on TV, but my brother had it on at his house. When Mr. Smith started singing, both of us looked at each other and said "dude's gonna win it all." I can not recall ever being so impressed by someone's first performance on national television.

Like many, I commented that Jordan was the best contestant of any of these variety shows that there had ever been. The judges on the show dubbed him "the Unicorn". It's been 7 years, and thousands more contestants. Perhaps a handful have reached his level of talent. Yet still, in my view he reigns as the top singing contestant of all time.
There’s such a calming grace about his voice the pain the emotion and the happiness it’s relaxing when you have artist that can tell a story by just singing ❤️❤️
When I first heard his blind audition, I thought, “Wow, she has a great voice!”. Then my jaw dropped when I saw him! I was stunned to hear that voice coming out of a man! Wow, he has an amazing voice!
He could take on almost any mainstream large artist in singing their own song live, and he'd destroy them, one of the best vocalists ive ever heard, ive never had goosebumps and emotions like his singing gives me. The other contestants had a rough go, hard to compete against him.
If you EVER have the opportunity to see him in person- JUMP on it! Have watched him on youtube thousands of times- but to see him live really drives home how absolutely perfect his unadulterated voice is!

The Jordan voice album is one of the few I’ve ever purchased (since everything went streaming). So-it comes up on my devices. His voice gets me every time-just so powerful and controlled. Truly pitch perfect. I’m gratified by the comments here. You guys hear what I hear! He’s incredible. And the work he’s done since is dear. He’s got a beautiful soul buoying that voice.
