Similar situations happen all the time. The problem is that these repair shops, and what is even worse, the dealerships, they charge crazy money per hour for service, but they don’t have knowledgeable and competent mechanics! For very few exceptions! That’s why they change the parts that not need to be change. And the worst part of everything is that they are not held accountable or responsible for wasting your time and money. And it’s happening everywhere you go. It’s pretty much like you see a doctor for headache and he cuts your leg off to fix your headache. It’s terrible. I think that if mechanic change the good part or didn’t fix the problem, you shouldn’t be charged at all. It doesn’t matter if he change half of a truck with new parts, if the initial problem was not fixed! That’s supposed to be on the shop, not the customer! If you are not knowledgeable mechanic, it’s a shop and mechanic problem, it’s not the driver problem! They supposed to be held liable and pay for their incompetence!
These d e f systems are the worst thing ever I'm dealing with the exact same problem I have a Peterbilt and this thing has been even Peterbilt can't solve the problem and they made the truck
I'm going through the exact same thing. 2 mechanics so far and out $3500. After paying to get my filters cleaned, and 80 miles later I still had the same code they claimed I need to give them 3200 to get new filters bc they're bad now. 2nd shop just cleared ecm and did a regen for $500, 10miles later same code. Brought it home, replacing all my dpf sensors myself, and a diag tool. In the process of still replacing sensors for a fraction of the price
so im a diesel mechanic and i fix aftertreatment systems. there hasn't been one i could not diagnose yet. let me tell you yes they are hard to diagnose. but 8 times out of ten youre going to have at least 2 to 3 issues with your system. and almost always the first issue that shows up is going to be the effect and not the cause. now if they fail to miss harness or electrical problems then thats poor diagnostics. but sometimes it can take 2 trys to get it right. in your case it was obviously a failure in diagnostics. but i will tell you 99 percent of the time the def header is usually the problem with this issue. ive only seen one time where it was the harness and never had to replace an acm.
Just had this issue on my 2014 Mack CXU. After being stuck at a truck stop for two days the techs there couldn't figure it out after throwing all kinds of parts at it, Exhaust temp sensor, two def wire harnesses. I brough it to Mack they hooked up to it and had it diagnosed in an hr. Bad def doser, and the aftermarket temp sensor the clowns installed wasn't communicating with the trucks computer, so had to be replaced again.
Bruh.... that sucks. I clicked on your video because I am having the same code/derate warning popping up. This is not reassuring but thanks for the tip
If you take off the abs fuse from the fuses box you good to go that set you need to watch more you tuve video my friend you can save thousands of dls by watching this videos do not call shops people just find a video about you problem in it’s for free just get the abs fuses out in you engine would be good to bo

That sucks, man. I have constant def/dpf issues with my paccar. I'm about ready to drive it off a cliff. The DEF nonsense is the worst thing ever inflicted on the trucking industry. It's basically leftist policies implemented into your truck to keep it from doing its job of going down the road. I have spent $4200 this year so far on this crap. Two Peterbilt shops so far, and going back in tomorrow. If truck drivers were as bad at their jobs as diesel mechanics are at theirs, every load would be late or never make it at all.
@@TruckingUnfiltered I Know everything about this system. They made it so complicated that the average trucker will never figure out what the problem is. I’m 100 percent sure they programmed certain electrical and electronic parts to break down at a certain point and also the connectors and wiring is designed so the water and heat can easily destroy it and you can keep going back to them for repairs and keep giving them money

99% of the time it is a short, even the experienced mechanics at peterbilt or kenworth waste time replacing parts that aren’t broken

Exactly 100% if they can’t fix the problem they shouldn’t be charging the customer with a 3 digit 0’s and problem occurs again.
A class action should be started. I spent thousands as well..harness failure..Def sensor..ERG failure..cam shredding...Transmission module failure..
Like owners operators we have to invest on tools and knowledge how the system of the truck works and how to do diagnostics.
Get yourself diesel decoder for $350, it clears codes does a forced regen and it shows you possible problems.
These d e f systems are the worst thing ever I'm dealing with the exact same problem I have a Peterbilt and this thing has been even Peterbilt can't solve the problem and they made the truck

Buy yourself an OTR diagnostic tool .It has saved me many dollars
Lo he estado viendo en videos ( OTR Diagnostic ) debes pagar anual usd 200 para mantenerlo activo ?
Absolutely right sir
Lesson learned, mechanics suck because there to lazy to do there job
Falta de conocimiento
You are awesome.. 😂😂
Debes cotizar OTR Diagnostic
usd 650.00 y te puede ayudar o eliminar todo el sistema DEF
I have same problem when it’s rains I get the SCR codes
I get it when it’s windy. Probably a short circuit somewhere
When it rains I get the abs
Put scam people in the jail bettter
you must be getting paid hella good to be spending all that money
You could fix it with replacing only one sensor
whas no sensor at folt. Only a disconected 12v wire to the def pomp. 😩

You need a laptop and cummins insite

Pittsburg Power's Max Mileage fuel catalyst. Get it and add it to your fuel. It'll take care of your emissions issues. You'll thank me later.
The best thing you can do about this problem is to delete it.
Or learn the system...especially the basics like check all powers and grounds.
