Hello. Any ideas why that track events automatically wihtout code - auto turns ON again after I turn it off? Basically it turns off and after I go to Overview and return to Settings and that bloody thing is again ON. Any ideas? Cheers
Hm...that's strange. It should save automatically when you change it. You could try it in a different browser to see if that actually makes it save. If that doesn't work, it could be because it created events using that. You can always go into the individual events and see what pages they're connected with and remove any connections.
@@JacobLE Thank you. The Off option is on now! Individual events? Do you mean Event Setup Tool? I have added just one event so far. Strangly that the Track Events Automatically Without Code is Off for couple of days but those automatic events are still there in overview. I thought it should cancel receiving the date and provide only with one common option - pageview. Any ideas?
If it created the events, you may need to manually remove what it created. For each event, under event manager, you can choose "manage event" and then it will show how it's set up. You can simply remove all the triggers that it created by clicking the trash can on each.
@@JacobLE Unfortunately, there is not trash can sign (I have entered Manage Event). There are only 2 buttons: Pixel documentation and Done. Very Informative Video. I have a squeeze page on the WordPress website used for lead campaigns and I have a Shopify store where most of the traffic is sent with email marketing. In this case how many FB pixels do I need? Thanks in advance.
Thank you! If they're the same type of customers I'd recommend using the same Facebook Pixel for both of them. That way it has all your data on your customers and the pages they visit. If a visitor opted into your email and then opened an email and bought, you should be able to see that purchase in your ads manager. This will also help Facebook find the right people to show ads to since it can see who is not only opting in but also buying. Does that make sense?
Thanks for breaking it down. What if you have 3 different funnels for 3 different services, and using the same pixel. If I choose the lead standard event instead of a custom conversion, how will lead event differentiate between the 3 funnels? In other words, 3 thank you pages would have the lead event, but If I use that as my conversion objective, how would it know what page it's for? Right?
Yes! That’s correct. You can still see analytics for how many people are hitting each thank you page, but if they are 3 different services I’d recommend making each of them a custom conversions since the customers are so different. Thanks for watching!
Thank you! I use a blue screen and OBS to record. I did a tutorial on how I record the screen and webcam at the same time. Thanks for watching and let me know if you want any more info!
You can, but it's definitely more challenging on an ecommerce website. Now with ios14, you're limited to 8 events/custom conversions in grand total so people generally only have slots for 1 or 2 custom conversions. You can do "url includes" and sometimes there are certain titles/names in the url. If there's wildly different products, sometimes we'll just create a 2nd website and connect a 2nd pixel that goes with that website.

Hello Jacob, I got a quick question I have pixels for my opt-in page. Do I use that same pixel for my thank you page? or do I need separate pixels for my thank you page?
You generally want to use one pixel for your entire website. If you're running a campaign, that pixel will track how many people land on each page. If you use different pixels, it won't be able to track that. I would definitely recommmed just 1 pixel for the entire site. Let me know if you want more details.
I'm so glad! Thanks for watching. So, you really get to select the event that you feel fits best. Personally, I would likely use the lead event. Let me know if you want more info on that. :)
Hi Jacob. If I set up an event to track my thank you page URL to make every visitor a lead, will everyone who lands on the thank you page become a lead in my FB ad campaign (even from other sources), or will they have to click on an ad in that specific campaign first? Thank you, sorry if this is a dumb question haha
No, it's a great question. So, Facebook is tracking the actions that people take that click on the ad. The pixel has an analytics section where you can see the total people that become leads, but your ads will only show people that clicked on your ad and became a lead or saw your ad and later became a lead when it reports it under ads manager. Does that make sense?
Hello,i want to konw how to delete deduplicate pixels and sever events ?Because my data counted more times and i see my purchase event's connect method is browser-server ,i guess maybe there is something wrong.Could you help me solve the issue?Thank U.
So deduplication helps it not track the same event twice. Here's what Facebook has to say on helping with deduplication: "We determine if events are identical based on their ID and name. So, for an event to be deduplicated: In corresponding events, a Facebook Pixel's eventID must match the conversion API's event_id. In corresponding events, a Facebook Pixel's event must match the conversion API's event_name. Once your event fulfills both conditions, we keep the first one and remove the following one. If a server and browser event arrive at approximately the same time (within 5 minutes of each other), we favor the browser event." So, deduplication helps it not track twice, is there a reason you want to delete those? Thanks for watching!
Hey man, I need some help optimizing for purchase even with the new update. I was doing view content and it was recording the landing page views, but when I optimised for purchases it doesn't track landing page views.
Sorry for the delay! That's odd that it completely stopped with landing page views. So, now with ios14 you need to choose your 8 events it's allowed to track. It could be that landing page views aren't a part of your 8 events. Then you'll want to set the event priority, for people who've opted out it only tracks the most important event. So, if someone makes a purchase it won't track add to cart, landing page view etc. You'll need to verify the domain and then set up the event priority for the domain after. I should be coming out with a step by step tutorial in the next few weeks or there're other tutorials on setting this priority.
how can we create custom audiences based on people that viewed specific category page and bought items, so we can LLA audiences based of that custom audience and not mixed up with audience from other category pages ?
You'd typically do that by creating a custom conversion and including the urls for the category pages as well as the url for each product in that category. So, you'd do the custom conversions for "fishing gear" and include every page related to that category. If you only want to do it for one category, you can use the event "view content" for all the pages you want to include it on, but if you'd like to do it for a number of categories, custom conversions are the way to go. Does that make sense? Personally, I've had much better results doing LLA from purchases and initiate checkouts vs page views.
Hey Jacob, nice tutorial, but why can't I track after my thank you page with that same pixel, the button of the events don't let me access, I can track only my opt-in page, not more. do you know why this is happening ??
So, when you open the events manager and do pixel setup for the thank-you page, does it not let you go to that page to set up the events? Make sure you have any ad blockers turned off.
I am trying to post my conversion ad campaign on facebook but for some reason under 'Pixel' It won't allow me to change it to the pixel I want to use. How do I fix this?
That's so odd, I'm sorry you're dealing with that. One option is switching browsers, sometimes that helps. You also want to make sure it's connected to the ad account. Under "business settings", I would go to the pixel and make sure it's assigned to the right person and business account. If you try all those and you're still dealing with it, feel free to let me know and I'm happy to research more solutions.

Hi anyone know how to do it for a Spreashop Store? My FB ads manager says theres no pixel but when I go to my FB Pixel helper on the website it says it is active
You'll want to make sure the pixel is connected with the ads manager you're using. When you go to run ads, it let's you choose a dropdown of which pixel to use, so it may not select that one by default. You can also go to business manager>business settings>data sources>pixels then select your pixel. Then you can choose connected assets and make sure your ad account is under that. If not, choose "add assets" and add your ad account. That should work, but let me know if you're running into any issues.

so, my guess is that Facebook can give an ad credit for a sale for up to 28 days depending on how it's setup. So, if you had ever clicked the ad (currently paused) in the last month, it would have given that ad account credit. Does that make sense? I
My problem is : I have many products in my woocommerce website and when I run paid ads on a certain product, even if my instagram followers buy from me because they saw my posts or stories, the ads manager will consider them as 'Purchase event" and add them to the results section which makes the cost goes down but the overall budget is more expensive. What i mean is, for example I sell "product 1" with ads and my store contains products 2 3 4 5 6...50. when people buy other products than the "product 1" that i'm advertising it counts them as results from the ad coz all products have the same thank you page. How to solve this ?
Facebook is generally structured where it displays the total sales on your store via the pixel from people you run ads to. Changing the thank you page wouldn't change that. You could potentially create a subdomain or separate funnel with just the one product. If it is standalone it would only track sales for the one product. There are some workarounds with using a custom conversion for certain purchases, but it would run into issues if people buy more than one thing at a time and it would probably be cleanest to use the subdomain with its own pixel.
