    We have the 2021 Airstream Interestate 24gt. It is a nice rig. However the wet bath is our biggest complaint. Just a few shelves in the bath would be nice too. Ducted AC would be super as ours is so very loud. A Truma hot water tank would be welcome. I am not sure I would buy it over again. But inventory is low everywhere and we own it, at least. If you were up in New Hampshire I would invite you to tour and drive ours. We have made a few modifications.
    One thing that would be fun for you in the future is to meet up with owners who might be one or two years down the road with a rig to see if they would buy it all over again, pet peeves and likes.

      Agreed. There's really nothing innovative or even different about this or any of their motorhomes as compared to other brands or custom builds to warrant the cost of the Airstream badge. It's actually rather embarrassing. Airstream really needs to step up their game in the motorhome field or just keep out altogether and remain focused on dominating the travel trailer market.

    • @comegowithMEE
      @comegowithMEE 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Agreed. 215k and nets everywhere inside. Should have about 10 battle borns, 3k inverter, induction cooktop, convection microwave, loose the generator and the l.p. tank and add diesel heater/water heater. I almost bought an interstate 19 a month or so ago but didn't because it's rigged out almost like this thing.

    This day and age needs the roof to be covered in solar, with more swing out solar for hen your parked or docked, more batteries, induction cooktop, they threw on some bells and whistles but not enough meat, the 4x4 adds some but still overpriced by about 50k, isn’t worth it unless you can make it more sustainable.

    This is 4 wheel drive. With that generator where it is you will not be doing any four wheeling unless you want to lose that. No tv. The price is way to high. So if you have to twin beds the backs of the sofa end up on the floor. I agree with Matt should of had another door to the bathroom that swings out and should put the shower in the floor with drain like other class b's have. Get rid of the sink in the bathroom the sink for the galley is right there.

    That big of counter....you'll cook more, eat more and have a mini bathroom to finish the equation! LOL!!!! Love the cock pit, huge counter space. The sleep area DOESN'T HAVE CURTAINS! Nobody wants to see this old dilapidated body of mine! Great catch Matt on making that a swinging wall for the bath....extra room for taking care of business! For the money you should have six Battleborn Li's and a Victron 3000 Multi Plus onboard. No storage under the sleeping area? This Coach is beyond absurd on price! Should MSRP for 1/2 of what it is. Oh, that color lit high light looks like a carnival light....no thanks!

    A few comments about off road use on this rig. First the 30” pizza cutter tires might work well on the street or dirt roads but could cause much grief in soft terrain, just because they are “knobby” doesn’t promise good performance . Also having the generator under the coach is almost guaranteed to get hung up on almost any actual off road situation. One other comment, no way to get to the roof rack unless you are Tarzan and if you do put much gear up there you we’ll cover, or at least seriously degrade the solar outputs. Just my two cents worth.

  • @cindywernert1605

    Those are long back rest cushions. If sleeping with it set up as 2 beds, where are you storing them? Also should show amt of effort to set up the full bed.

    • @ericsandoval4
      @ericsandoval4 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They actually changed the design to break them up into 4 pieces so that you can make a smaller bed if needed or a L shaped lounge. This was an early delivery for the showroom. Dealers are supposed to swap these cushions out.
      You can store the cushions on the L Track by strapping them to the side or hand under the frame of the mesh overhead storage.

    • @richardburguillos3118
      @richardburguillos3118 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@buckaye03 you do t want Propane as it can run out when your in the back country off grid. Heater and water heater should run off rigs fuel tank. Everything else electric. Charge off solar or rigs engine wile driving around. Generator is one more think that needs maintenance and makes noise. Generators are also typically installed in such a way they lower your ground clearance. That said, not to happy where they installed batteries if that is what I saw under the rig. Plan size of batteries to meet needs… this is just my opinion and everyone has their own. Wonder if they claim this is a four. Season rig.

    I didn't like that there was no lounge aft of the driver's seat. Maybe you can turn the seats around but for what? Also, and this is huge, when you sleep width wise instead of fore/aft you get so much better use of the space. Two twin beds running fore and aft eats up a ton of space and is impractical. They should have put on the famous sprinter flairs and put the bed width wise. I also was REALLY disappointed Airstream cheaped out and didn't put upper cabinetry in the rear compartment. If you go off road you need to protect everything from the inevitable dust. Also, running boards on an off road adventure van is a guarantee of body damage. I am an airstream fan with fond memories of touring the US, Canada and Mexico with my parents in an airstream travel trailer. This build out, though, looks like the designer has no real world touring experience.

    • @traceytheisen8067
      @traceytheisen8067 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your dust comment is incrediblly underrated. Anyone who offloads knows dust is everywhere. Having just nets is so ridiculous for its intended purpose. If you were sitting by the beach and wanted to put clothing in nets to air-out is one thing. But off-roading dust is everywhere, especially if driving with the windows open, which many do. This is a clear example of someone sitting in a design studio trying to make something look pretty without being functional and has never been off-roading....or who's experience off-roading is driving merely down a gravel driveway.

      One behind the Drivers captain seat which swivels. USB and 110 power plug under the Lagun mount. There are mounts on each side of the bench seats. Making a total of 4. Go check out AS VP of Sales video it is very long and comprehensive. These guys misssed a lot of the features that make this so unique. Also it has 500W of solar not 400W, 100W power the engine battery. You can add another 200W of solar off the remote hook ups.

    There are a number of offerings in the 4x4 Mercedes B van arena. The ones that come to mind are Win Revel, PW Recon, StoryTeller Overland. This is probably the most expensive, but is well laid out, love the Twin Bed approach, this has got the best Wet Room of them all (even for it's size). Liked your idea Matt, make the solid wall swing out and that would increase the room by a long shot. Do not like the macerator, skip the Blk Tank and go Cassette! You did not address the fact that you could swivel the seats using that for your full time dining, get rid of those long cushions and have the twins made up all the time. Very Nice Rig....and Tyler, Great Job!

    Where are you supposed to put your toys when you are sleeping? All of that room is taken up by the bed. The Revel got it right, places for toys and sleeping. I wish Airstream would put in a way to do both. Get rid of the gas, add as many batteries that it can take, and have either a tall fixed bed or one that comes down from the ceiling.

    For that price I would expect proper cabinets instead of the bungee cord stuff in the kitchen and fabric in the living area. Also where were the window shades? Really dislike this class B but the bathroom door is pretty cool. Matt we love you but please say “ we HAVE’ not ‘We got” . Miss Andrea on this one.

    The two benches in the back make no sense to me. The benches convert into a big bed, but what do you do with all the gear you brought? Instead of the low benches, make a raised platform bed that expands and retracts like the the Bi-Slide from Titan Vans, with lots of open storage below (lots of L Track, maybe even a sliding drawer like the Winnebago Era) and perhaps even a floor to ceiling open space at the rear doors like the Kiss van from AdvancedRV. That way you can keep your bikes in the van while its raining/snowing outside.
    No one does propane any more, go big lithium with a 2nd alternator.

    24''6' for an 'off road' revel competitor? That's insane, there are smaller Class Cs. The Wonder is only 3 inches longer.

    • @danoc51
      @danoc51 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the advantage of a Class B is that you get something smaller than a bus. This qualifies as a Class B Humongous. Your parking spots will be limited to those of a Class C or A. Personally, I'm not a fan of the Air Stream aluminum interiors.
