I think integration is more the middleman system you use between different data sets. For example, if you have a company that sells on ebay and amazon and needs all those sales to be recorded in a proprietary database, the integrations engineers need to access all necessary data for the private database from ebay and amazon, which both likely store their data in different formats.

Is data integration means steps before that databases? I mean ..I pull data from databases so , does integration happen before a database build?
