i decided to stan zb1 about 2 weeks ago bc i loved their whole discography so far. i binged all of Boys Planey and now they’re one of my ult groups. soooo goooood
zerobaseone was formed from a program called Boys Planet, in this video they not only saw Zerobaseone but also the other participants of the program who did not end up being part of the group.
The one who did the blackpink cover is called Hui and belongs to the group called Pentagon that debuted a long time ago and decided to participate in this program.
I don't know why I know this either XD.
Tbh most iconic performances were actually done by jiwoong...I was so surprised every week that how his performances were so viral ...and so good...

7:10 It's Hui, the leader, main vocalist, composer and producer of Pentagon, he was definitely the best vocalist there, but the public didn't want him because of ageism, he's 30 years old, you've already seen a bit of him in a Pentagon video. he and jinho are vocal monsters.
Thank you for the reaction! ZB1 are known for their vocals and visuals. It’s not talked about as much but their dance it’s also really strong, they literally have two professional dancers in the group. When it comes to their personalities they’ve gone viral multiple times because of how unserious and unhinged they are, there’s some really funny compilations of them if you want to check out. There’s some guides to the group on TH-cam but I feel like they don’t really capture who the members are and their talents so I think you’ll be way better off actually listening to their music and checking out their content. They’ve released two albums so far and they have three music videos out: In Bloom, Crush and Melting Point (the later is a b-side from their second album). If you want to know the members personalities better and listen to some of their live vocals I would 100% recommend checking out their two episodes of kstarnextdoor. If you guys want some more recommendations please let us know ‘cause there’s plenty of zerobaseone content out there!
ZB1 are the whole package. The debut group is in good hands with the 9 members! And not only in talent or visuals but their chemistry as friends and as a group! IT'S INSANE, we hit the jackpot.

tbh i am so happy bc of how many boys from boys planet debuted. evnne, one pact and some of them debuted solo also wumuti and jay actually are in build up, another show that focuses on vocals, if u want to check them I highly recommend it, they all are incredible

boys planet was the best survival show I've seen in so long the talent was crazy and i love how raw it was too its a show that I'll truly never forget about you should really react to the stages! I'd recommend the ones where the zb1 members were in since majority of the iconic ones like tomboy, over me, hot summer, jelly pop, kill this love, love me right, back door, man in love had most debuted members there! but the other stages without them were also really good so at the end of the day its up to you guys but I'd love to see a reaction to the boy planet stages one day 😭😭

16:09 Jay is now in a permanent group consisting of other boys planet contestants (One Pact) who didn’t make it into the top 9. He is also currently participating in another mnet survival show called Build up. I recommend his and Bitsaeon‘s cover of Dangerously. It‘s soooo good!🤩

Boys planet was an mnet show! Yeah I'm so glad yall reacted to this vid cuz it's literally a combination of some of my fav performances in the show
So on these types of survival shows, typically the rounds of competition and songs:
1. Audition/Inital Evaluation, this is a cover performance. The first performance the trainees will do in front of the mentors and get evaluated on it. Trainees are usually grouped by companies. This is something they often prepare weeks/months in advance before the show starts. The trainees then get separated in to different levels based on their performance. In Boys Planet it was All Star, 3 Star, 2 Star, 1 Star, 0 Star.
2. Promo Song/Re-evaluations, the trainees are shown what the promotional track for the show is going to be (Boys Planet is "Here I Am") and they are usually given 3 days to learn it and then perform it 1 by 1 with the mentors re-evaluating it. What level you get placed in determines how much screentime you get in the promo MV, the highest class gets the most screen time, the lowest class gets little.
3. First performance, this is usually a vs performance where a group will compete against another group with either the same song or songs by the same artist. The live audience votes for which trainee they think did the best and the team with the highest score win that dual. The winning teams get bonus votes which goes towards elimination. 1st elimination happens after this round
4. 2nd Performance, position battle. This round is position focused, so the song/performances lean towards Vocal, Rap, and/or Dance. It's again, covers of existing songs. Trainees who choose vocal have to rearrange the song, those to choose rap have to write raps, and Dance have to choreograph their own dance. In Boys Planet specifically, they had "dual positions" so the trainees had to choose between Vocal/Rap, Vocal/Dance, or Rap/Dance. Example: "Love Killa" was a Vocal/Dance song, "Tomboy" was a Vocal/Rap song. Again, the audience votes and the team with the highest score in each position gets a huge amount of bonus votes added. 2nd Elimination happens after this round.
5. Concept Performance. This round is ORIGINAL SONGS. The show brings in about 5 songs usually by known kpop producers. They vary in concept/sound, choreography is also predetermined. Again the audience votes, and 3rd elimination happens.
6. Finale. The remaining trainees are split in to 2 teams and are again given 2 new songs. After these performances, voting officially closes.
7. Final song. While the votes are being tallied, all remaining trainees sing one last song together as a "gift" to the viewers. It's typically a moving ballad type of good bye song.
You should watch the Star level tests for boys planet. Jay and Na Kamden’s is really good. Kick it by g and k group. There’s so many good ones. Most of these guys are really talented even the ones that didn’t make it.
It was mnet show btw, they're the master of survuval show i'd say, there's a lot of cons about their surviv shows but definitely still booming every year. Koreans really crazy whe it comes to surv shows, they have evrything. I would recomment you 'Karaoke vs' by mnet, 'sing again' by jtbc, 'superband' by jtbc where lucy was made from, 'street woman fighter' (dance) by mnet. Also, mnet currently airing new survival show called build up focusing to make a new vocal based group, they have pretty solid judges such as wendy, eunkwang, seungkwan, solar, etc
OMG I recommend you check out some of the full performances. Man In Love, Tomboy, and Love Me Right G Group are some of my faves
YOU NEED TO CHECK OUT ONE PACT! It’s a group of Boys planet participants who didn’t make it into the line-up, and they are self produced AND self formed - their leader Jongwoo (guy who absolutely slayed the Backdoor performance) picked all his members himself! Their debut album is no skips and i think you’ll really like it!!
you want to see some good stages from Boys Planet, I highly recommend checking JAY CHANG's 16:09 "love me Right" g group, "Rush hour" and "Over Me" performances). He is one of the best vocalists on this program (he was one spot away from debuting in zb1), he made his solo debut with the album Late Night (his songs Rockstar and I'll be there are amazing) and in the group ONEPACT with other contestants from boys planet, they are incredibly talented (Tag one of the members produced 5/6 songs on the album) you should check them out (i recommend "Hot Staff" performance video, "Must be nice" MV, "GOAT" performance video)
One Pact's "Rush in 2 U" is pretty good too. I love it so much! I super love the lyrics♡

Boy's Planet was fantastic. I watched the full thing after watching ZB1's debut and falling in love with their members. So much talent in that season! That show also produced full groups of BP's trainees, like ONE PACT, EVNNY or TIOT. One Pact's situation is a bit curious because their main vocalist Jay participated in another survival show which formed a 4 member vocal group, BDU, and got first place. So although he is in ONE PACT, he's mostly promoting with BDU for the next two years. Jay is one of the trainees you said was very good. You should check him out (he has solo stuff pre-ONE PACT debut).

And you know, now there is another survival show from mnet, called "Build Up" and I HIGLY RECOMMEND YOU GUYS TO WATCH!1!1 Because the participants are amazing, they are from idol's main vocal, singer song writer, and another. But their vocal performance are insane, the option is only "good" or "really good". Some of member of Boys Planet also join this survival, like Jay and Wumuti

Boys Planet is the best. ZEROBASEONE is a group formed from this survival show, but there are also many other trainees who debuted together in one group such as EVNNE which is a project group from a different agency. ONEPACT is also all members from Boys Planet but they are all in the same agency, just like TOZ and TIOT. Some finally debuted with members from their agencies who were not part of Boys Planet like AMPERS&ONE, NXD, and there are those who become soloists like Lee Seunghwan with the stage name ONLEE. some of Boys Planet trainees actually already debuted and are still in the group, such as Hui Pentagon (3rd generation), Hwanhee and Dongyeol UP10TION, etc

Boys Planet. The revival and the better version of the Produce series (especially if we talk about the dark past of the other Produce series that made one group that only been active for five months instead of five years. I could say they really redeemed themselves in this program.)
For everyone to know the mechanics of picking the boys, its 1/3 performance based with the coaches and judges during the live stages and 2/3 online voting.
There are a total of 99 trainees, active idols, and even actors who participated here. They are divided into two groups; the Korean Group, which, obviously, the Korean trainees, and the Global Group, those trainees who come from other parts of the world, there were some trainees of Korean ethnicity but being born outside of Korea they chose to represent their country. Some of the countries that were represented were China, Japan, US, Taiwan and Canada (only Matthew).
The first evaluation is the Star Level test where the trainees will be evaluated to sort them out into classes from A to F. The highest is A and the the lowest is F. The higher your rank, the more benefits you have. And out of the 99, there will be one trainee who will be given most of the airtime, boosting his chances of winning the show.
After that were the cover challenges and instances that they have to make their own choreography and then the Artist Round where they will be performing songs made for them and choreos, and its up to them how they will make it their own.
Every after live performances were eliminations. Those who win during the live performances were given benefit points that will be added to their total number of votes, boosting the contestant's chances of survival and winning. The first round was half of the total were eliminated, then 1/3 of the remaining then the 18 semi finalists and the final 9 boys, which created zerobaseone.
Aside from ZB1, there were other groups that were created from the boys who participated like EVNNE, TIOT, ONEPACT, AMPERSAND ONE and many more. There was even a solo artist (LE'V). i hope you could also react to them.
You guys should react to some performances from this new mnet survival show called buildup. Its a vocal based survival show and some of the great vocalists from boys planet are on there. And 😭😭😭 its so amazing because they are just showcasing their purely vocal abilities like they never got to dp on boys planet since well they were looking for people who could rap and dnace as well on boys planet. Not to say that these people cant rap and dance it's just focusing mainly on the vocals. Pls check out Dangerously by Jay Chang and Bitsaeon and falling by Wumuthi and Hayoon just as a palatte cleanser. The show is insane because eveyone is genuinely a good vocalist 😭😭😭😭 so it makes everything harder
